        KI-180과 KI-188 칼슘조성물이 어린쥐의 성장발육에 미치는 영향

        본 연구에서는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 조성물이 성장발육에 미치는 효과를 조사하였다. 시험기간중 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군이 대조군 보다 성장률과 평균 식이섭취량은 증가하였다. 체장은 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군이 대조군에 비해 평균 3.55 mm 더 길었고, 등뼈길이는 KI-180 식이군이 대조군 보다 통계적인 차이는 없었지만 0.5 mm 더 길었다. 대퇴골 무게는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군이 대조군에 비해 통계적으로 무거웠으며, 대퇴골길이는 대조군에 비해 각각 평균 0.89, 1.09 mm 더 길었다. 혈당, 총콜레스테롤 및 중성지방 농도는 차이가 없었고, 칼슘농도는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군 보다 대조군이 유의하게 높았다. 백혈구와 혈소판수는 차이가 없었고, 적혈구, 혈색소 및 헤마토크릿치는 대조군이 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군 보다 통계적으로 높았다. ALP활성은 KI-180 식이군이 대조군 보다 통계적으로 높았고, osteocalcin농도는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군이 대조군에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다. 혈청 testosterone 농도는 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 식이군과 대조군 간에 차이가 없었다. IGF-1과 IGFBP-3 농도는 KI-180 조성물이 대조군 보다 각각 20%, 11% 정도 유의하게 더 높았다. 이상의 결과를 검토할 때 KI-188 칼슘과 KI-180 조성물은 어린쥐의 성장과 골격의 발달을 촉진시키고, 성장호르몬의 분비능을 양적으로 유도하여 전반적인 성장발육에 유효한 작용이 있는 것으로 사료된다. Herbs have active components that promote the growth rate of both animals and human. The KI-180 and KI-188 calcium food formulae contain Acanthopanacis cortex, Bombysis corpus and hoelen, seaweed calcium, chlorella extract, spirulina, colostrum powder, and other natural and functional components. We evaluated the growth-promoting effects of these formulae by analyzing the weight, femur and backbone, alkaline phosphatase, osteocalcin, testosterone, insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-1, and IGF binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3) of growing rats. Growing rats administered with KI-180 and KI-188 calcium showed the increase of body weight, body length, and femur weight and length of growing rats. In addition, administration of KI-180 and KI-188 calcium increased the alkaline phosphatase activity, the levels of osteocalcin and the growth hormones IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 of growing rats. The impact of KI-180 and KI-188 calcium on the physical development of growing rats suggests that the incorporation of these food formulae in the diets of growing children may promote the physical development.

        광선각화증, 보웬병, 편평상피세포암에서 Ki-67, Cyclin A, p53, p16의 발현 양상

        Background: Actinic keratosis (AK) and bowen`s disease (BD) are pre-cancerous diseases, and are regarded as an early squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). AK and BD can be progressed into SCC. In this process, tumor suppressor and cell proliferative proteins may play important roles. Objective: To investigate the differences of expression patterns of the immunohistochemical (IHC) staining and useful markers for differential diagnosis in AK, BD and SCC. Methods: Biopsy had proven 17 cases of AK, 20 cases of BD and 17 cases of SCC, which were all selected. IHC staining for Ki-67 and cyclin-A, as cell proliferative markers, p53 and p16 as tumor suppressor markers, were performed. Labeling index (LI) and distribution pattern of IHC expressions were measured. Results: LI of Ki-67 in AK, BD and SCC were 30.6%, 60.2% and 54.8%, respectively. LI of cyclin-A in AK, BD and SCC were 9.2%, 24.4% and 24.1%, respectively. LI of p53 in AK, BD and SCC were 20.7%, 37.9%, and 39.9%, respectively. LI of p16 in AK, BD and SCC were 10.6%, 38.3% and 39.9%, respectively. Lower 1/3 was the most frequent distribution pattern in AK in all IHC stains, full thickness lower 2/3 were the most frequent distribution pattern in BD and SCC in all IHC stains. Conclusion: LI and distribution pattern of Ki-67, cyclin-A, and p16, as well as the distribution pattern of p53 may be useful markers to differentiate AK from BD and SCC. Higher degree and full-thickness distribution pattern IHC expressions in all stains may be helpful in the diagnosis of BD, rather than AK. (Korean J Dermatol 2012;50(4):290∼298)

        Hypoxia Enhances Nitric Oxide Synthesis by Upregulation of Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase in Endothelial Cells

        Hypoxia is an integral part of the environment during luteolysis. In this study we examined whether hypoxia could directly stimulate endothelial cells to produce nitric oxide (NO). Endothelial cells were cultured in hypoxic (5% O₂) or normoxic (20% O₂) conditions and the levels of total NO, inducible NO and endothelial NO was measured. We found that hypoxia but not normoxia upregulated NO production. The increased NO levels correlated with increased inducible NO synthase (iNOS) expression whereas expression of endothelial NOS (eNOS) expression remained constant. Addition of the iNOS specific inhibitor 1400W to hypoxic cultures prevented NO production suggesting that hypoxia?induced NO production in endothelial cells was due mainly to upregulation of iNOS. We also found that prostaglandin F2α (PGF) production was unaffected by hypoxia suggesting that upregulation of NO was not due to increased synthesis of PGF. In summary, we report that endothelial cells cultured under hypoxic conditions produce NO via the iNOS pathway. This study provides the importance of the relation between the hypoxic environment and the induction of NO by endothelial cells during regression of the corpus luteum in the ovary.

      • 아산시 종량제 쓰레기 봉투에 배출된 생활폐기물 성상의 주택유형 및 계절적 특성

        This study was investigated physicochemical characteristics of residential wastes in using volume-base charge system of disposal bag. It examined from August 31, 1999 to March 30, 2000 to Asan city. It divided residing conformation to singleness house, few stories apartment (below 5 layers), high-rise apartment (more than 6 layers). Samples were collected 20ℓ volume bag by each 3 volume-base charge system of disposal 1 times by season in total 27 areas. Total 108 samples were analyzed characteristics of living wastes and three ingredients (moisture, volatile solids, ash) by season and house types. 1. Mean bulky density in the volume-base charge system of disposal envelope showed by 0.206 tons/㎥. Bulky density in high-rise apartment was the lowest by 0.183 tons/㎥ by house types, and few stories apartment and singleness house appeared similarly by each 0.217 tons/㎥, 0.218 tons/㎥. 2. Weight by season of waste in volume-base charge system of disposal bag was the highest in winter and the lowest in spring. 3. Occurrence amount by composition ratio about total weight combustibility was 93.3%, and incombustibility was 2.8%, and recycling was 4.0%. In physical composition, the compositional weight fraction was food, 47.9%, paper, 27.8%, vinyl & plastics, 10.7%, textile 3.4%. 4. In combustible wastes, the compositional weight fraction was food, 51.3%, paper, 29.8%, vinyl & plastics, 11.4%, textile, 3.7%, In combustible wastes, the compositional weight fraction was glass & ceramics, 85.3%, and soil & others, 9.1%, and metal was 5.6%. Glass bottles of recycling were 36.8%, plastics kind 24.6%, and can kind was 3.8%. 5. Average moisture content of combustible wastes appeared 28.60±22.35% and moisture content of food kind highest by 45.29%. Ash content was few amount of 6.55%. Volatile solids amount was high by 64.84% but vinyl & plastics was the highest by 78.05%, and food was the lowest by 46.83%. 6. Three ingredient findings moisture contents by season of combustible waste were the highest in summer and the lowest in winter (p<0.01).

      • 아산시 호소들의 오염실태조사 및 그 대책

        The object of this study is to survey water quality of reservoirsin in Asan city. We also suggest some countmeasures for environmental preservation toward sustainable urban development of Asan city. We analyze water qualities (pH, DO, COD, SS, T-P, T-N and Chlorophyll-a) of reservoirs. The level of water quality of small reservoirs is in the range of level Ⅳ-Ⅴ higher than the level Ⅲ established by the Ministry of Environment. Especially, water quality of Sinchang, Youngin and Shinchung reservoirs is worser than that of other reservoirs. Water quality of Asan and Sapkyo lake is the range of level Ⅳ-Ⅴ. As the levels of T-P and T-N are level Ⅳ and level Ⅴ, respectively, eutrophication might be progressed. Reservoirs in Asan city were already serious polluted by inflow of wastewater from residents, animal husbandries and industries. Recently, Metropolitan Area Development Planning(MADP) for Asan bay-area was suggested by the Ministry of Construction. According to this plan, industrialization and urbanization of Asan area will rapidly progress. If sewage and wastewater treatment facilitiesare not provided, water quality of reservoirs in Asan city will be worse. In order to prevent of environment pollution, first, the impact of industrialization and urbanization of Asan area on the environment should be considered at the beginning of MADP. Second, total effluent regulation of water pollution, air pollution and soil wastes, based on the self-purification of the Asan city environment, should be enforced.

      • 개에서 발생한 수컷 가성 반음양 1례

        In this report, we present a case of the male pseudohermaphrodite in a beagle dog. The animal was subjected for examination due to enlargement of clitoris that was shown as reddish finger-like structure protruding from the vulva. Visual examination of the internal genitalia revealed that the animal possessed both testes and uterus. Based on the findings of physical examination and exploratory laparotomy, it was tentatively diagnosed as male pseudohermaphrodite. Internal genitalia and enlarged clitoris were removed for the prevention of pyometra and Sertoli cell tumor.

        Although numerous studies have shown that cadmium disturbs the normal biological processes in central nervous system the mechanism of toxicity is not well understood The present study has investigated the effect of cadmium on oxidative stress, Na+/K- ATPase activity and the aggregation of amyloid beta peptide(β-amylotd) in neuronal cell Ime, HT22 cell LC_(5) and LC_(50) of cadmium for HT22 cell resulted from MTT assay was 4 1 μM and 9 5 μM, respectively Cadmium(2 to 8 μM) dose-dependently increased the lipid peroxidation and decreased the content of glutathione Cadmium 4 μM showed a significant decrease in Na^(-)/K^(+) ATPase activity as compared with control group The aggregation of P-amyloid was accelerated in a dose-dependent manner by the treatment with 2 to 8 μM cadmium These results suggest that the neurotoxicity of cadmium can be mediated by the increase in oxidative stress and decrease in Na^(-)/K^(+) ATPase activity.

        트랜시스 싱글 존 모델을 이용한 멀티 존 에너지 해석 방법

        The purpose of this work is to propose a simple single-zone model for analyzing multi-zone cases. Multi-zone models can be defined directly describing the building plan while important simulation data and careful parameterization are required. In contrast, the single-zone model is set in a very simplified manner, so many engineering projects prefer such a model. However, differences between the two models are not yet well investigated, particularly in a quantitative way, and thus the paper tests the differences and proposes possible methodologies to enhance the single-zone model to be closer to the multi-zone model. Thus, the balcony is modeled in detail to account for the solar double transmitted irradiance via windows at both sides of the balcony. Since the solar transmitted irradiance directly influences building loads, a special attention is required. In addition, the internal walls are taken into account in the single-zone model to keep the similar thermal capacity of multi-zone cases. Results show that the proposed single-zone model predicts very similar annual loads with the reference multi-zone model (about 5% error) while the initial single-zone model without the methodologies is far from the reference model (more than 20% error).
