Actinobacillus succinogenes NJ113 is capable of microaerobic fermentation, which offers the possibility of a novel type of pyruvic acid production. A dissolved oxygen environment with stirring at 300 rpm was a key factor in the fermentative production of a maximum concentration of pyruvic acid. Potassium carbonate (K2CO3) was found to have a role in promoting pyruvic acid production, influencing the concentration of pyruvic acid and production of the by-product succinic acid. The final titer of pyruvic acid production was 36.8±0.1 g L−1 with an overall yield of 0.639±0.056 g g−1 glucose and 3.12±0.03mmol g−1 dry cell weight h−1. Significance and impact of the study: This study is the first to illustrate the advantage of using Actinobacillus succinogenes NJ113 with no genetic modification under microaerobic conditions for the production of pyruvic acid.
Standardized Design of the Transmitting Coils in Inductive Coupled Endoscope Robot Driving Systems

A transmitting coil with an optimal topology and number of turns can effectively improve the performance of the wireless power transfer (WPT) systems for endoscope robots. This study proposes the evaluation parameters of the transmitting coils related to the performance of the WPT system to standardize the design of the transmitting coils. It considers both the quality factor of transmitting coils and the coupling factor between the two sides. Furthermore, an analytical model of transmitting coils with different topologies is built to exactly estimate the evaluation parameters. Several coils with the specified topologies are wound to verify the analytical model and the feasibility of evaluation parameters. In the case of a constant power received, the related evaluation parameters are proportional to the transfer efficiency of the WPT system. Therefore, the applicable frequency ranges of transmitting coils with different topologies are determined theoretically. Then a transmitting coil with a diameter of 69 cm is re-optimized both theoretically and experimentally. The transfer efficiency of the WPT system is increased from 3.58% to 7.37% with the maximum magnetic field intensity permitted by human tissue. Finally, the standardized design of the transmitting coil is achieved by summing-up and facilitating the optimization of the coils in various situations.

PPDO was successfully electrospun into continuous, ultrafine fibers by using DMSO as solvent for the first time. The concentration of PPDO in DMSO and the electrospinning temperature were optimized. PPDO/LAP nanocomposites were also electrospun in DMSO. At 70 degrees C, ultrafine PPDO fibers were obtained from 35 wt% solution and the PPDO/LAP nanocomposite fibers were yielded from 55 wt% solution. Electrospun fibers of the PPDO/LAP nanocomposites showed higher degree of crystallinity due to the presence of embedded nanoparticles.

Study on the Control and Projective Synchronization of a New Fractional-order Chaos System
Shao Ke-Yong,Chen Bai-Quan,Wang Ting-Ting,Xu Xiang,Zhang Ting-Ting,Ma Di 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.11 No.10
In this paper, a new fractional-order chaotic system was studied, and the basic dynamic properties of the new system were analyzed. The control of the new system in unstable equilibrium point was realized by designing the reasonable nonlinear controller. Further, we investigated the projective synchronization problem about fractional order chaotic systems with different dimensions, the appropriate controller was designed to achieve the projective synchronization of a four-dimensional drive system and a three-dimensional response system by reducing the dimension. With the numerical simulation of Matlab, the feasibility of the scheme was verified.

Background: Small-cell lung cancer (also known as SCLC) is an aggressive form and untreated patients generally die within about 3 months. To obtain further insight into mechanism underlying malignancy with this cancer, an miRNA synergistic regulatory network was constructed and analyzed in the present study. Method: A miRNA microarray dataset was downloaded from the NCBI GEO database (GSE27435). A total of 546 miRNAs were identified to be expressed in SCLC cells. Then a miRNA synergistic network was constructed, and the included miRNAs mapped to the network. Topology analysis was also performed to analyze the properties of the synergistic network. Consequently, we could identified constitutive modules. Further, common target genes of each module were identified with CFinder. Finally, enrichment analysis was performed for target genes. Results: In this study, a miRNA synergistic network with 464 miRNAs and 2981 edges was constructed. According to the topology analysis, the topological properties between the networks constructed by LC related miRNAs and LC unrelated miRNAs were significantly different. Moreover, a module cilque0 could be identified in our network using CFinder. The module included three miRNAs (hsa-let-7c, hsa-let-7b and hsa-let-7d). In addition, several genes were found which were predicted to be common targets of cilque0. The enrichment analysis demonstrated that these target genes were enriched in MAPK signaling pathways. Conclusions: Although limitations exist in the current data, the results uncovered here are important for understanding the key roles of miRNAs in SCLC. However, further validation is required since our results were based on microarray data derived from a small sample size.
Steel Bridge Construction of Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge
Wen-bo Gao,Quan-ke Su,Jin-wen Zhang,Hong-bing Xie,Feng Wen,Fang Li,Ji-zhu Liu 한국강구조학회 2020 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.20 No.5
The 55-km-long Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge (HZMB) is the world’s longest sea-crossing bridge, connecting Hong Kong with Zhuhai and Macao at the mouth of the Pearl River Estuary in China, comprising 22.9-km-long steel bridges. HZMB is the leading steel bridge in China, with top-level manufacturing and installation technology. This paper outlines the steel bridge construction experiences of HZMB to provide comparisons for the construction of other long sea-crossing steel bridges at home or abroad. The main considerations of construction constraints, scheme selection, structural and aesthetic design of HZMB are presented, and the following points related to new strategies in the steel bridge construction of HZMB are elaborated: (1) construction quality assurance, (2) automatic manufacturing technology, (3) large segment off shore installation, (4) eco-friendly paint (content limitation of volatile organic compounds) and new multifunctional inspection gantry, and (5) Guss Mastic Asphalt steel deck pavement system. The successful implementation of those strategies shows that the steel bridge construction of HZMB promotes improvement in the overall construction and management level of the Chinese bridge industry. The advanced experience of HZMB has opened up broad prospects for the design and construction of off shore bridge engineering in China.

Shaohong Wei,Ruiqiang Zhang,Quan Ji,Changfeng Li,Bin Zhou,Youlian Lu,Jun Xu,Ke Zhou,Chongguang Zhao,Ning He,Wen Yin,Tianjiao Liang 한국원자력학회 2022 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.54 No.5
A solid tungsten target was used at the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) with 100 kW protonbeam power. To improve the lifetime, hot isostatic pressing (HIP) process was selected to bond tantalumcladding with tungsten plates. Radioactive isotope 182Ta, an activation product of tantalum, was found inthe cooling water after a period of operation, however, no radioactive isotopes of 187W was found, whichshows the tantalum layer remained mostly intact. The CSNS Target-1 had been operating safely for threeyears and was replaced by Target-2 in August 2020

Therioaphis trifolii (Monell) is a well-known pest in alfalfa cultivation in China. Individuals of T. t r i f o l i i were allowed to feed on 10 alfalfa cultivars and their growth, reproduction, and population life table parameters were estimated. Nymphs that fed on Hunter River had the longest development time, whereas nymphs that fed on Defu had the shortest development time. Adults that fed on Debao, Zhongmu No. 2, and Defu had the shortest development time, whereas adults that fed on Golden Empress and Hunter River had the longest development times. Individuals that fed on Zhungeer produced the greatest number of offspring (13.950), and those that fed on Hunter River produced the fewest offspring (6.000). The survival rate of T. t r i f o l i i was the highest on Algonquin and lowest on Hunter River, whereas the survival time was the longest on Golden Empress and shortest on Debao. The population that fed on Algonquin had the highest intrinsic growth rate (0.560) and shortest population doubling time (1.237 days), whereas those that fed on Hunter River had the lowest intrinsic growth rate (0.217) and longest population doubling time (3.194 days). The life table parameters of the experimental T. t r i f o l i i population were used to quantify the resistance strengths of the cultivars. Results indicate that the Hunter River cultivar may effectively resist damage from T. trifolii. This study provides a theoretical basis for breeding aphid-resistant alfalfa cultivars, enabling further research into the prevention and control of aphid infestation.
