OSAKA converter, which is a large scale three-phase soft-switching power factor corrected converter, is proposed. 아랍어를 학습하는 대부분의 일본 대학생은 아랍 문화에 대한 관심이 큰 경향이 있다. 그러나 아랍 문화에 대한 관심과 아랍어 학습동기 사이의 상관관계에 대한 정량적 연구는 확인되지 않는다. 이 연구의 목적은 자기결정 이론에 기초하여 일본에서 아랍어를 전공하는 대학생들의 아랍 문화에 대한 관심이 아랍어 학습동기에 미치는 영향을 검토하는 것이다. 이를 위하여, 491명의 비아랍 학생 중 일본 대학의 아랍어 수업을 수강하는 여학생 64.2%에 대하여 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 응답자들은 아랍 문화 규모에 대한 12개 항목의 관심과 15개 항목의 아랍어 학습 동기에 대한 설문지를 작성하였고, 채택된 자료는 구조 방정식 모형을 이용하여 통계 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 아랍 문화에 대한 관심에서 동기 부여의 자율성에 이르는 경로계수가 성별과 연령의 차이를 제어한 후, 긍정적이고 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 동기부여의 자율성에 대한 아랍 문화에 대한 학생들의 관심의 영향을 설명하는 가설경로 모형을 지지한다. 긍정적인 연구 결과에 기초하여 일본에서 아랍어의 교습의 실용적 방법을 제안하였다. Most of Japanese university students who start learning Arabic do so as they have a notable interest in Arab culture and tend to keep the interest. However, little is known about the relationship between the interest in Arab culture and the motivation to learn Arabic. The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of interest in Arab culture on autonomy in motivation to learn Arabic among university students learning Arabic in Japan, based on the self-determination theory. A questionnaire study was conducted among 491 non-Arabic language major students, taking Arabic classes in Japanese universities (64.2% women). The participants completed the 12-item Interest in Arab Culture Scale and the 15-item Arabic Learning Motivation Questionnaire. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results indicated that the path coefficient from interest in Arab culture to autonomy in motivation was positive and statistically significant after controlling for differences in sex and age. These results support the hypothesized path model which describes the influence of students’ interest in Arab culture on autonomy in motivation. Despite several limitations, the findings provide pragmatic suggestions for teaching and learning of Arabic in Japan.

Heat production in ruminants follows a diurnal pattern over the course of a day peaking 3 hours following afternoon feeding and then gradually declining to its lowest point prior to morning feeding. In order to clarify the cooling period most effective in reducing decreases in feed intake and milk production, experiments were carried out based on the diurnal rhythm of heat production and heat dissipation. In experiment 1, the effects of hot environment on milk production were investigated. The animals were kept first in a thermoneutral environment (20.0°C, 80.0%) for 12 days, they were then transitioned to a hot environment (32°C, 80.0%) for 13 days before being returned to second thermoneutral environment for a further 12 days. In experiment 2, the effectiveness of daytime cooling or nighttime cooling for improving milk production in hot environment was compared. While ten lactating Japanese Saanen goats (aged 2 years, weighing 41.0 kg) during early lactation were used in experiment 1, ten lactating goats (aged 2 years, weighing 47.5 kg) during mid-lactation were used in experiment 2. The animals were fed 300 g of concentrated feed and excessive amounts of crushed alfalfa hay cubes twice daily. Water was given ad libitum. The animals were milked twice daily. When exposed to a hot environment, milk yield and composition decreased significantly (p<0.05). Milk yield in the hot environment did not change with daytime cooling, but tended to increase with nighttime cooling. Compared to the daytime cooling, milk components percentages in the nighttime cooling were not significantly different but the milk components yields in the nighttime cooling were significantly higher (p<0.05). The results indicate that nighttime cooling is more effective than daytime cooling in the reduction of milk production declines in lactating goats exposed to a hot environment.

이 연구는 일본 대학의 아랍어 수업과정에서 학생들의 기본적인 심리적 욕구(자율성, 역량 관련)에 대한 관심과 지원의 효과를 분석하는 것을 목표로 했다. 일본 대학에서 아랍어 학습에 영향을 미치는 아랍어 교수의 교육방법에 대한 연구는 거의 없다. 이 논문은 ‘자기결정이론’에 기초하여, 기본적인 심리적 욕구의 만족도가 학생들의 자기결정 동기부여 및 학습결과에 유리하게 영향을 미칠 수 있다고 가정하고 아랍어 교육문화의 방향성을 확인하였다. 일본 대학의 22명의 아랍어 교수들이 보고한 설문지는 익명으로 관리되었으며, 전체 응답 교수는 일본 대학의 모든 아랍어 교수의 최소 30%를 구성하는 것으로 추정되었다. 통계 분석 결과, 학생들의 역량에 대한 교사의 관심과 각 척도에 대한 점수와 척도의 중간점 사이의 학생들의 역량에 대한 교사의 관심과 지원의 수준에 따라서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 교수들의 학생들에 대한 관심과 기본적인 심리적 욕구를 지원과 학습효과 사이에는 긍정적인 상관관계가 있었다. 이 연구의 결과는 일본에서 아랍어 교육문화와 학습 환경을 개선하는데 기여가 있을 것이다. This study aimed to examine the attention to and support students" basic psychological needs (i.e., autonomy, competence, and relatedness) among Arabic language teachers at Japanese universities. There is little knowledge about Arabic language teachers" characteristics in Japanese universities that influence Arabic language teaching and learning. Based on self-determination theory, it can be assumed that basic psychological needs (need satisfaction) can favorably affect self-determined motivation and learning outcomes in students. A self-reported questionnaire was anonymously administered to 22 Arabic language teachers at Japanese universities. The teachers were estimated to make up at least 30% of all the Arabic language teachers at Japanese universities. The statistical analysis results showed statistically significant differences in the teachers" attention to students" competence and the teachers" support of students" competence between scores for each measure and the midpoint of the scale. There were positive correlations between scores for the teachers" attention to and support of the same basic psychological need. This study will advance the knowledge of Arabic language teachers" characteristics necessary for improving Arabic language teaching and learning in Japan.
Characteristics of PM Synchronous Motor with Trapezoidal EMF driven by Novel PWM Strategy

A new modified trapezoidal modulating signal for pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter suitable for the Permanent Magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive is proposed in this paper. A new modulating signal for the PMSM drive is determined by the condition of reducing torque ripple of the motor with various electromotive force (EMF). Proposed modulating signal is able to decrease the torque ripple even if the motor has sinusoidal EMF or non-sinusoidal EMF. By using the proposed modulating signal, the system reduced the torque ripple as well as achieving the effective utilization of the DC supply voltage for the inverter. Many improvements are accomplished by the PWM strategy adapting the modified trapezoidal modulating signal without a change in hardware.

아랍 문화에 대한 관심은 일본 대학의 대부분의 학생들에게 아랍어 학습을 시작하고 발전시키는 동기이다. 외국어 학습의 이유를 나타내는 오리엔테이션은 문헌에서 상당한 관심을 받고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 아랍 문화에 대한 관심과 일본 대학의 아랍어 전공 및 비 아랍어 전공 학생들 사이에서 아랍어 학습에 대한 5 가지 유형의 오리엔테이션 (통합, 도구, 우정, 여행 및 지식 오리엔테이션) 간의 관계를 조사하는 것이다. 설문 조사에 참여한 일본인 대학생 571 명은 아랍어 전공 학생 292 명 (여성 70.2 %)과 비 아랍어 전공 학생 279 명 (여성 68.8 %)의 두 가지 주요 그룹으로 구성되었다. 설문지에는 아랍문화 척도에 대한 관심과 아랍어 학습 규모에 대한 방향이 포함되었다. 통계 분석 결과에 따르면 아랍어 전공 학생의 도구 오리엔테이션은 비 아랍어 전공 학생보다 유의하게 높았지만, 다른 오리엔테이션 유형과 아랍 문화에 대한 관심은 두 주요 그룹 간에 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 또한 아랍 문화에 대한 관심은 모든 유형의 오리엔테이션과 유의하고 긍정적인 상관관계가 있었다. Interest in Arab culture is the reason starting and advancing the learning of the Arabic language for most students at Japanese universities. Orientation, which refers to the reason for learning a foreign language, has received considerable attention in the literature. The purpose of the study is to examine the relationships between interest in Arab culture and the five types of orientation toward learning Arabic (integrative, instrumental, friendship, travel, and knowledge orientation) among Arabic major and non-Arabic major students in Japanese universities. The participants in the questionnaire survey were 571 Japanese university students comprising two major groups: 292 Arabic major students (70.2% women) and 279 non-Arabic major students (68.8% women). The questionnaire included the Interest in Arab Culture Scale and the Orientations toward Arabic Language Learning Scale. The results of statistical analysis indicated that instrumental orientation was significantly higher for Arabic major students than that for non-Arabic major students, whereas the other orientation types and interest in Arab culture were not significantly differences between two major groups. Additionally, interest in Arab culture was significantly and positively correlated with all types of orientation.

Objective The effectiveness of clozapine is clearly superior to other antipsychotics in the treatment of refractory schizophrenia. Clozapine leads to various side effects, and therefore many patients are forced to discontinue. In this study, we analyzed the registry database of all cases in Japan to identify risk factors for discontinuation of clozapine. Methods The Clozaril patient monitoring service?? (CPMS) database from July 31, 2009 to January 26, 2020 was acquired. We defined the following exclusion criteria: patients who had ever taken clozapine by a non-CPMS method, such as an individual import or clinical trial, patients who did not receive clozapine after being enrolled in CPMS, and patients with initial doses other than 12.5 mg (outside the current protocol). Therefore, all patients in this study are new users. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to investigate independent risk factors associated with time to discontinuation of clozapine. Results We identified 8,263 patients as the study population. Clozapine discontinuation was significantly associated with age 40 and older [hazard ratio (HR)=1.66, p<0.001], intolerance to olanzapine (HR=1.31, p=0.018), previous treatment with clozapine (HR=1.30, p=0.001), and leukocyte counts <6,000/mm3 (HR=1.24, p<0.001). The Kaplan-Meier curves for clozapine discontinuation by age group revealed that older age at the time of clozapine introduction tended to have lower continuation rates. Conclusion Careful administration is important because patients with these factors have a high risk of discontinuation. In addition, the initiation of clozapine during the younger period was more effective and more tolerated.
