        Katarina Halvorsen,Jonas Hoffmann,Ivan Coste-Manie`re,Rasa Stankeviciute 한국마케팅과학회 2013 Journal of Global Fashion Marketing Vol.4 No.3

Through the introduction of Web 2.0, the blogging phenomenon has become animportant marketing channel, as it has enabled a new way of communicating andsharing information through its user-generated content. Today the largest segment ofthe blogosphere consists of fashion blogs, i.e. blogs that focus on fashion brands, fashion products, street style, and personal style. In recent years companies have begunto realize the benefits of using blogs as a marketing tool, as they are a targeted andinexpensive way to get publicity and reach potential consumers. This research aims tostudy whether fashion blogs can function as a marketing tool to influence consumerbehavior, limited to the Norwegian fashion blog arena. The study is based on anexploitative research design as there is little existing research on the subject. We havechosen to explore the subject from three different perspectives: those of the readers, thefashion blogs, and the companies involved in fashion blog marketing. In detail, thestudy looks at the influential power of fashion blogs in context with their strength as acommunication tool for marketing products and brands. The results of the study clearlyindicate that blog advertisements provide companies with a unique opportunity formarket communication, whereby aspects related to credibility and influence can beviewed as incomparable to those involved in traditional advertisement. Through thestudy one can conclude that fashion blogs can indeed affect consumer behavior, as theyhave a unique ability to create a strong relationship between the blog and its readers, resulting in the advertisement being viewed in a personal and non-intrusive way.

Education expansion, expenditures per student and the effects on growth in Asia

Katarina Keller 연세대학교 동서문제연구원 2006 Global economic review Vol.35 No.1

This article estimates the separate effects of primary, secondary and higher education on economic growth in Asia since 1960. Enrollment rates, public expenditures and public expenditures per student are used as measures of education in an empirical panel data analysis. Expenditures toward primary education and expenditures per student in this education stage have contributed highly significantly to economic growth, while expenditures toward the higher stages seem more inefficiently utilized. Enrollment rates in secondary education especially play an important role in increasing growth rates. Enrollment rates, in particular, display significant indirect effects.

Giftedness in the Area of (First) Language – Why develop it?

Katarina Farkas 고려대학교 응용문화연구소 2017 에피스테메 Vol.0 No.17

Giftedness in the area of first language has not yet been scientifically researched more in detail. This specific giftedness can be observed in the linguistic and literal competences of students. As these competences are very important for many different professions, it is important to not only analyze them but to also develop them. The Language Drawer is a model that points out how these competences can be developed and what teachers or coaches need to help gifted students improve their competences. An important aspect of giftedness is creativity. As creativity proves helpful inproblemsolving in various contexts, especially in engineering science, but also in many other areas such as natural science, politics or economics, it is important for any gifted student to develop creative skills. Creativity can be observed in first language products, but it can also be developed by producing new language products. The language drawer offers various activties to develop student creativity.

A comparison of the antinociceptive and temperature responses to morphine and fentanyl derivatives in rats

        Katarina R. Savic´ Vujovic,Sonja Vucˇkovic,Dragana Srebro,Milovan Ivanovic,Ljiljana Dosˇen-Mic´ovic,C ˇ edomir Vucˇetic,Eleonora Dzˇoljic,Milica Prostran 대한약학회 2013 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.36 No.4

In addition to producing antinociception, opioidsexert profound effects on body temperature. This studyaimed at comparing antinociceptive and hyperthermicresponses between two groups of l-opioid receptor agonists:fentanyl (4-anilinopiperidine-type) and morphine(phenanthrene-type) derivatives in rats. Analgesic activitywas assessed by tail immersion test and the body temperatureby insertion of a thermometer probe into the colon. Fentanyl (F), (±)-cis-3-methyl fentanyl (CM), (±)-cis-3-carbomethoxy fentanyl (C), (±)trans-3-carbomethoxyfentanyl (T) and (±)-cis-3 butyl fentanyl (B) produceddose-dependent increase in antinociception and hyperthermia. The relative order of analgesic potency was:CM(11.27)[F(1)[C(0.35)CT(0.11)CB(0.056). Similar tothis, the relative order of hyperthermic potency was:CM(8.43)[F(1)[C(0.46)CT(0.11)CB(0.076). Morphine(M), oxycodone (O), thebacon (T) and 6,14-ethenomorphinan-7-methanol, 4,5-epoxy-6-fluoro-3-hydroxy-a,a,17-trimethyl-, (5a,7a) (E) also produced dose-dependentincrease in antinociception and hyperthermia. Amongmorphine derivatives the relative order of analgesicpotency was: E(56)[O(5)CT(2.6)[M(1), and similar tothis, the relative order of hyperthermic potency was:E(37)[O(3)CT(2.3)[M(1). Morphine (phenanthrene-type)and fentanyl (4-anilinopiperidine-type) derivatives producedhyperthermia in rats at doses about 2 times lower, and 6–11 times higher, than their median antinociceptivedoses, respectively. This study is first to identify differencebetween these two classes of opioid drugs in their potenciesin producing hyperthermia. Further studies are needed toclarify the significance of these findings.

        Katarina Šavikin,Nemanja Menković,Gordana Zdunić,Dejan Pljevljakušić,Slavica Spasić,Nevena Kardum,Aleksandra Konić-Ristić 한국식품영양과학회 2014 Journal of medicinal food Vol.17 No.5

The aim of our study was to investigate possible beneficial effects of organic chokeberry juice (OCJ) consumption in the treatment of cellulite. Twenty-nine women aged 25–48 with a cellulite grade 2 according to the Nurnberger–Muller scale were included. Anthropometric and biochemical parameters were measured. Skin structure was analyzed by ultrasonography. All subjects consumed 100mL of OCJ per day, during 90 days. Measurements of investigated parameters were performed at 0, 45, and 90 days of the study. A marked reduction in the subcutaneous tissue thickness was observed in all subjects, with the average reduction of 1.9 mm. The length of subcutaneous tissue fascicles (ScTFL) was reduced in 97% (28 out of 29) of subjects, with the average value of 1.18 mm. After 45 days of chokeberry juice consumption, reduction of edema was observed in 55.2% of the subjects with edema at the baseline, while at the endpoint of the study, edemas were not observed in any of the subjects involved in the study. OCJ could have beneficial effects on the cellulite condition, including the length of ScTFL, subcutaneous tissue, and dermis thickness as well as on edema reduction.

Cloth face mask fit and function for children part two: Material Selection

        Katarina Goodge,Jenny Leigh Du Puis,Mona Maher,Margaret W. Frey,Fatma Baytar,Heeju Park 한국의류학회 2022 Fashion and Textiles Vol.9 No.1

The second component of this three-paper series studying cloth face masks for children ages 4 to 6 years old concentrates on optimizing aerosol capture and air permeability through fabric selection. Material choices were evaluated in two modes: Flat Filter (FF) and Head Form (HF). FF isolates material factors while HF simulates the performance of the constructed masks on a 3D printed child head form. In FF mode, higher fltration efciency correlated to lower air permeability in both reusable commercial and experimental face masks regardless of fber contents, fabric structures, and number of layers. Our prototype face mask developed in design exploration successfully captured 37±12% of 0.3 μm, 87±3% of 0.5 μm, and 87±2% of 1.0 μm particles while maintaining good air permeability, moisture capture, and aerosolized salt capture in HF mode. Sealing masks to minimize outward leakage reduced particle capture up to 64%. Particle leakage data captured at the eye level of the head form illuminated the synergy between mask design, material choice, and ft.

Kinetic models of swelling and thermal stability of silver/poly(vinyl alcohol)/chitosan/graphene hydrogels

        Katarina Nešovi c,Ana Jankovic,Aleksandra Peri c-Gruji c,Maja Vukašinovic-Sekulic,Tamara Radeti c,Ljiljana Živkovi c,박수진,이경엽,Vesna Miškovi c-Stankovi c 한국공업화학회 2019 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.77 No.-

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized by in situ electrochemical reduction of Ag+ ions in poly(vinyl alcohol)/chitosan/graphene (PVA/CHI/Gr) hydrogel matrices with different concentrations ofchitosan. The physicochemical properties of nanocomposite hydrogels were investigated by UV–visspectroscopy (UV–vis), dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-rayphotoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermal characteristics were determined by differentialscanning calorimetry (DSC) and mechanical properties were measured by tensile test. The swellingstudies were carried out in phosphate buffer to simulate natural physiological environment and datawerefitted by several kinetic models to determine the diffusion mechanism and diffusion coefficients ofthe swelling medium through the hydrogel matrices. It was shown that the presence of silvernanoparticles increased the uptake capability and equilibrium swelling degree of the compositehydrogels. The antibacterial activity was confirmed against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, while the hydrogels without AgNPs exhibited antibacterial properties due to the presence of chitosan. With the addition of AgNPs, the samples showed stronger activity and fast reduction in the number ofcolonies, confirming the synergistic effect of chitosan and AgNPs on the antibacterial activity.
