Double-edged sword: γδ T cells in mucosal homeostasis and disease

The mucosa is a tissue that covers numerous body surfaces, including the respiratory tract, digestive tract, eye, and urogenital tract. Mucosa is in direct contact with pathogens, and γδ T cells perform various roles in the tissue. γδ T cells efficiently defend the mucosa from various pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi. In addition, γδ T cells are necessary for the maintenance of homeostasis because they select specific organisms in the microbiota and perform immunoregulatory functions. Furthermore, γδ T cells directly facilitate pregnancy by producing growth factors. However, γδ T cells can also play detrimental roles in mucosal health by amplifying inflammation, thereby worsening allergic responses. Moreover, these cells can act as major players in autoimmune diseases. Despite their robust roles in the mucosa, the application of γδ T cells in clinical practice is lacking because of factors such as gaps between mice and human cells, insufficient knowledge of the target of γδ T cells, and the small population of γδ T cells. However, γδ T cells may be attractive targets for clinical use due to their effector functions and low risk of inducing graft-versus-host disease. Therefore, robust research on γδ T cells is required to understand the crucial features of these cells and apply these knowledges to clinical practices.

The typical reason of the private sector's increasing share in standardization is that the procedures of official standardization organizations are out of step with the rate of technical development. At today's so fast pace that the success of a technology is decided in the market even before it is standardized, several industry leaders jointly make their draft standard at the early stage of development, which becomes 'De fecto Standard.' To respond effectively to current trends of standardization where the market's decision is thought much of than official standardization procedures, it is necessary to shift from our current public sector-driven to private sector-driven standardization. Therefore, to vitalize the private sector-driven standardization in Korea, there is a need to: ·Run a standard foundation to secure stable resources for standardization ·Make information exchange between the govertment and private sector active and policy-making on standards consistent by designating a private organization to cover the roles, policies on standards, and support of the national standardization organization

<P>We report the observation of transverse mode instability (TMI) in a pulsed single-frequency ytterbium-doped large-core fiber amplifier in which stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) is generated easily owing to the high peak power and narrow linewidth of the laser pulses. It was shown experimentally that the threshold of TMI is almost the same as that of SBS and that the suppression of SBS also increases the threshold of TMI, which indicates that the TMI originates from SBS in the fiber.</P>

This study has conducted a comparative research on the National Standard System of major countries, the types and features, background of establishment of National Standard System which can be considered to be the basis of National Standard Competency. With the ideas obtained from this process, the problems, achievements, characteristics and types of Korean National Standard System have been sought after, followed by proposing improvement schemes for its National Standard System, with which the country can deal with the changes in global standard. Selecting National Standard System as the topic of this study gave us difficulties in conducting it as it encompasses the field of politics as well as utterly strategic concepts. Also, due to insufficient studies carried our in regard to this topic, a survey was performed on standard experts in order to support the objectives presented by this study. The significance of this study consists in proposing, nongovernment-centered National Standard System as a method of bringing about a reasonable National Standard System and to provide guidance to future investigations for further development of the National Standard Competency Model.

Hyper-spectral data can be analyzed in a variety of ways, and various techniques exist to analyze hyper-spectral data. In this paper, the growth status of crops is analyzed using hyper-spectral data. For two crops of romaine lettuce and strawberry leaves, the control group was divided according to the presence or absence and degree of addition of bio-blocks, hyper-spectral images were obtained for each control group, and images were processed to calculate the value of the spectral band. The calculated spectral band value was used to calculate the spectral indices values, and based on these, the growth status of the crop was analyzed and the analysis results were visualized with box-andwhisker plots. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the addition of bio-blocks had a positive effect on the growth status of crops when both crops of romaine lettuce and strawberry were analyzed using numerical values of the spectral indices.
스켈레톤 추출과 컨투어를 이용한 유채 씨방 길이 측정 방법

본 논문은 비전 기술을 기반으로 유채의 씨방 길이를 측정하는 특성조사기준에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 굴곡된 특성을 가진 유채 씨방 길이를 측정하기 위해 컨투어와 스켈레톤 추출을 이용하여 유채 씨방의 픽셀 길이를 계산한 후, 켈리브레이션 방법을 이용하여 실제 유채 씨방의 실제 길이를 계산하였다. 작물 형질 분석 전문가들이 실측하여 구성한 테스트샘플을 이용하여 전체 평균 4.5mm의 오차를 결과로 도출하였다.

본 논문은 비전 기술을 기반으로 RHS 칼라차트를 이용하여 작물의 색채를 측정하는 특성조사기준에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 다양한 색상을 가진 작물의 색채를 측정하기 위해 시료 채취 후 표준 광원 촬영장치 광원 6500K 환경하에 촬영한 영상을 기반으로 분석 위치를 관심영역 선정 후, k-mean clustering을 활용한 세그먼테이션 방법을 통해 대표 RGB 색상을 획득한다. 획득한 RGB 색상과 RHS 칼라차트의 RGB 색상을 유클리디언 거리를 이용하여 최소화하는 RHS 칼라차트 정보를 추정하였다. 7가지 작물 시료에 대해 작물 형질 분석 전문가들이 측정한 결과와 비교 시 전체 평균 △E 5.013의 오차를 결과로 도출하였다.
