        발효조를 이용한 Monascus anka의 적색소와 황색소의 생산

        Monascus anka를 이용하여 천연식용색소를 대량생산하기 위한 방법을 개발하기 위하여 발효조를 이용하여 적색소와 황색소의 색소생산의 최적 배양 조건과 생산된 색소의 색깔 특성을 조사하였다. Monascus anka 적색소와 황색소를 생산하였는데, 이들 색소는 균체내색소와 균체외 색소로 구분되었다. 균체의 적색소(ERP)는 494nm에서, 균체외 황색소(EYP)는 380nm에서, 균체내 적색소(IRP)는 506nm에서 그리고 균체내 황색소(IYP)는 388nm에서 최대 흡광도를 나타냈다. 적색소와 황색소 생산, 색조의 특성 및 균체증식력을 배양 온도, pH, 쌀가루 농도, peptone 농도, magnesium sulfate 농도, 통기량 및 교반속도에 대하여 조사한 결과 적색소 생산력은 30℃, 초기 pH 6.0, 쌀가루 농도 3~5%, peptone 농도 0.05%, magnesium sulfate 농도 0.25%, 통기량 0.1vvm 교반속도 300rpm의 조건에서 최대치를 보였으며, 이때 ERP, EYP, IRP 및 IYP는 각각 A_494nm 0.84, A_380 nm 0.71, A_506 nm 1.18, A_388 nm 1.10, L값은 각각 29.40, 6.44, 34,98, 8.94, a값은 각각 5.76, -1.08, 11.83, -1.55, b값은 각각 18-19, 3.41 27.26, 6.16 그리고 균체량은 7.4 g/l을 보였다. 또한 황색소 생산력은 온도의 경우 적색소 생산을 위한 최적온도 보다 높은 35℃ 부근에서 우수하였으며 초기 pH와 쌀가루 농도는 적색소 생산을 위한 최적조건과 같았고, 질소원과 무기염의 농도가 높을수록 그리고 통기량이 많을수록 황색소 생산력이 우수하였다. 적색소와 황색소 생산을 위한 발효조의 교반속도는 100~300 rpm이 적합하였다. Mokpo National University Chonnam, 534-729, Korea - In order to develop the method for mass production of natural food colorant from Monascus anka, optimum cultivation conditions for producing red and yellow pigments by cultivating the mold in a jar fermenter and their color characteristics were investigated. The mold produced red and yellow pigments both intracellularly and extracellularly. These pigments showed unique light absorption characteristics with maximum absorption of 494, 380, 506, and 388 nm for extracellular red pigment (ERP), extracellular yellow pigment (EYP), intracellular red pigment (IRP), and intracellular yellow pigment (IYP), respectively. Optimum conditions for producing red pigments were found to be temperature 30℃, initial pH 6.0, rice powder 3~5%, peptone 0.05%, magnesium sulfate 0.25%, aeration rate 0.1vvm. Optimum temperature for producing yellow pigments was around 35℃ which is higher than that of producing red pigments. The initial pH rice powder concentration for producing yellow pigments were the same as those of producing red pigments. The higher concentration of nitrogen source and inorganic salt, aeration rate, the more the yellow pigments were produced. Them optimum agitation speed was 100~300 rpm for pigment production.

        Institution for Regional Innovation System: The Korean Case

        There is an implicit assumption in most regional innovation policy studies that once a policy has been made the policy will be implemented. This assumption is not valid for regional innovation policies formulated in many countries. This assumption rests upon certain political and organization conditions. It is frequently said that regional innovation system in Korea is one of the successful cases because of properly established institution for the implementation of innovation policies. The components of institution for innovation are defined in this article. For the analysis of institution for regional innovation system in Korea, three aspects such as organization, policies & programs, and governance structure were taken into account. Institution for regional innovation system in Korea is analyzed with three aspects: (1) organization for policy implementation, (2) innovation policy, and (3) governance structure. Firstly, organizations for innovation in Korea are composed of three categories such as organizations for policy formulation, organizations for policy implementation and agencies for coordination. Secondly, there are two categories of policies for innovation: (1) policies for the enhancement of national competitiveness and policies for the regional innovation capacity building, and (2) policies for fostering manpower and policy for regulatory reform. Thirdly, innovation governance in Korea is composed of three layer structure: (1) top level governance which is composed of two committee, three ministries and two agencies, (2) local level governance such as one innovation related offices and one center for regulatory reform, and (3) one category of agency for coordination as a regional platform.

        Effects of dietary supplementation with probiotic CS-A on performance in broiler chickens

        Probiotics, enzymes, organic acids, oligosaccharides, antioxidants, and other functional materials are actively being explored as alternatives to antibiotics. Probiotics include live beneficial microorganisms that colonize the intestinal tract and competitively inhibit attachment and growth of harmful microbes. Probiotics also increase feed efficiency by assisting in nutrient absorption and digestion. The current study was conducted in order to evaluate the effect of a new probiotic, CS-A, as a dietary supplement of a fermented product on growth performance, feed intake, and feed conversion efficiency in broiler chickens, and to evaluate its value as an alternative for antibiotics used as a feed additive. Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects of CS-A were investigated in vitro and the in vivo effects of a constant concentration of supplemented CS-A on growth rate and feed efficiency were evaluated. In addition, the safety of CS-A was assessed by examination of common symptoms and mortality. Determination of minimal inhibitory concentration revealed an excellent antibacterial effect of CS-A. Cytotoxicity was low and anti-inflammatory effects were achieved at the effective concentration of CS-A. Supplementation with 0.1% CS-A resulted in a feed efficiency score of 1.84 in broilers, compared to 2.00 in the control group. There were no adverse clinical findings, necropsy findings, hematology, and altered serum biochemistry parameters, and no mortality. Thus, it is concluded that CS-A is safe and effective as a feed additive.

        입냄새 관련 인지도 조사

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate obtained information regarding a patient's halitosis and investigate about relationship between halitosis and related factors. Halitosis is general term used to describe any disagreeable odor in expired air. Also Halitosis affects a large proporation of population and may cause a significant social of psychological handicap to those suffering from it. Recently many scientist have concern about halitosis. The clinicians will be tried care to patient of halitosis more exactly, if he or she know patient's information about history, symptom, related factors of halitosis. The subjects were 77 who young peoples with 25 years old and using a questionnaire about self and other perception of halitosis, general and oral status, diet controls and cognition etc. The collected data was to analyzed and tested statistical significant. The results were as follows : 1.In presence of halitosis, the self perception was 26% and other Perception was 44%. 2.The group who was indicated malodorer by others is more sensitive in self-bad breath than other groups (p<0.05) 3.In life style, the other perception group have had more smoking than non-other perception group(p<0.05) . 4.The favorite food with strong smell have investigated kimchi , garlic, onion, coffee, spicy curry. Welsh onion and wine. 5. The kinds of food occurred to odor have investigated garlic, onion, coffee, kinds of kimchi, stew, meat and milk. 6. There was not significant correlation among other perception of halitosis and favorite food with strong smell, kinds of food occurred to odor, medical history, present health condition, food impaction to teeth, drinking habit and menstration.

Nous voudrions soutenir dans cet article que les valeurs argumentatives et les topoi, concepts clefs de la th~orie d`Anscombre et Ducrot, doivent tre analysis en termes smantiques, mime s$quot;ils font partie en principe des ph~nom8nes pragmatiques. Pour ce faire, nous aeons prsent d`abord dans ses grandes lignes la thorie d$quot;Anscombre et Ducrot. En deuxi~me lieu. 1`encontre de leur point de vue purement smantique. nous aeons prix 1`opinion praematique de J. Moeschler(1992: 1996) que I$quot;argumentation est un type particulier d$quot;infrsrences, savoir les inferences contextuelles, et en mime temps que, tel est le cas. condition de considrer les conclusions argumentatives comme implications contextuelles et les topo`i comme prmisses impliques. Le but ultime de notre travail est cependant de montrer exactement le fait que les valeurs argumentatives et les topoi se trouvent immanents la structure significative de la phrase sous 1$quot;aspect des orientations argumentatives pour les unes et des instructions argumentatives pour les autres. F. Rkcanati(1984) et J. Moeachler(1985) disent qu`il est nCcessaire d`admettre que les valeurs pragmatiques d$quot;un nonck peuvent dlsj tre inscrites au niveau santique, si elles sont lies des processus linguistiques conventionnelles par des formes linguistiques particulires qui en deviennent pour ainsi dire les marqueurs. Daprs leurs dires, nous aeons prsent les formes et structures linguistiques qui permettent de conventionnaliser linguistiquement les valeurs argumentatives et les topof: les oprateurs argumentatifs, les connecteurs argumentatifs, les topo`i pour les unes, et les oprateurs argumentatifs, les connecteurs argumentatifs, les proverbes. les lexiques pour les autres. Il en rsulte donc que nous pourrions leur attribuer le statut smantique malgr leurs caract~ristiques pragmatiques superficielles.

        Settlement prediction has been conducted using Hyperbolic, Hoshino, and Monden methods, etc in the fields. These methods are only able to predict settlement after finishing the final filling stage. A new method is proposed to make up for such a weak point. This method was named as Kang"s method, which can be able to predict the settlement both the final filling stage and the staged filling from the initial filling stage in soft ground. To verify the applicability of this method, the measured settlement curve history was compared with the predicted one. The predicted settlement is well matched with the measured one. From the study, the Kang"s method can be possible to predict settlement during the staged filling with only the initial settlement data.

        The purpose of this study was carried out an epidemiological survey on the prevalence rate of the canine heartworms in Seoul City and the districts of Pa-Ju, Seong-Nam and Po-Chon in Kyonggi province of Korea from September 1994 to the end of September 1995. The blood samples from 292 male and 193 female dogs (pet, 363 ; fighting dogs, 60 ; working dogs, 62) were examined for the adult heartworms cuticle antibodies using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELSA) kits. The test was designed to detect the antibodies of the host against the specific cuticle antigens produced with the adult heartworms.
