        Genes Frequently Coexpressed with Hoxc8 Provide Insight into the Discovery of Target Genes

        Identifying Hoxc8 target genes is at the crux of understanding the Hoxc8-mediated regulatory networks underlying its roles during development. However, identification of these genes remains difficult due to intrinsic factors of Hoxc8, such as low DNA binding specificity, context-dependent regulation, and unknown cofactors. Therefore, as an alternative, the present study attempted to test whether the roles of Hoxc8 could be inferred by simply analyzing genes frequently coexpressed with Hoxc8, and whether these genes include putative target genes. Using archived gene expression datasets in which Hoxc8 was differentially expressed, we identified a total of 567 genes that were positively coexpressed with Hoxc8 in at least four out of eight datasets. Among these, 23 genes were coexpressed in six datasets. Gene sets associated with extracellular matrix and cell adhesion were most significantly enriched, followed by gene sets for skeletal system development, morphogenesis, cell motility, and transcriptional regulation. In particular, transcriptional regulators, including paralogs of Hoxc8, known Hox co-factors, and transcriptional remodeling factors were enriched. We randomly selected Adam19, Ptpn13, Prkd1, Tgfbi, and Aldh1a3, and validated their coexpression in mouse embryonic tissues and cell lines following $TGF-{\beta}2$ treatment or ectopic Hoxc8 expression. Except for Aldh1a3, all genes showed concordant expression with that of Hoxc8, suggesting that the coexpressed genes might include direct or indirect target genes. Collectively, we suggest that the coexpressed genes provide a resource for constructing Hoxc8-mediated regulatory networks.

      • An Efficient Image Cryptographic Algorithm based on Frequency Domain using Haar Wavelet Transform

        Presently a number of techniques are used to restrict confidential image data from unauthorized access. In this paper, the authors have proposed an efficient lossless image cryptographic algorithm to transmit pictorial data securely. Initially we take a 64 bit key, we convert our decimal pixel value into binary 8 bits and we XOR the first 8 bits of the key with the pixel value. After that we take the next 8 bits of the key and XOR with the next pixel value. We perform the circular right shit operation when the key gets exhausted. We perform the first level haar wavelet decomposition thereafter. Dividing the LL1 into four equal sections we perform some swapping operations. Decryption follows the reverse of the encryption .Evaluation is done by some parametric tests which includes correlation analysis, NPCR, UACI readings etc. show that the proposed work is resilient and robust in the field of cryptography.

        Hoxc8 Downregulates Mgl1 Tumor Suppressor Gene Expression and Reduces Its Concomitant Function on Cell Adhesion

        Hoxc8 is a homeobox gene family member, which is essential for growth and differentiation. Mgl1, a mouse homologue of the Drosophila tumor suppressor gene lgl,was previously identified as a possible target of Hoxc8. However, the biological effects and underlying molecular mechanism of Hoxc8 regulation on Mgl1 has not been fully established. The endogenous expression patterns of Hoxc8 were inversely correlated with those of Mgl1 in different types of cells and tissues. Here we showed that Hoxc8 overexpression downregulated the Mgl1 mRNA expression. Characterization of the ~2 kb Mgl1 promoter region revealed that the upstream sequence contains several putative Hox core binding sites and chromatin immunoprecipitation assay confirmed that Hoxc8 directly binds to the 5′ upstream region of Mgl1. The promoter activity of this region was diminished by Hoxc8 expression but resumed by knockdown of Hoxc8 using siRNA against Hoxc8. Functional study of Mgl1 in C3H10T1/2 cells revealed a significant reduction in cell adhesion upon expression of Hoxc8. Taken together, our data suggest that Hoxc8 downregulates Mgl1 expression via direct binding to the promoter region, which in turn reduces cell adhesion and concomitant cell migration.

        Phosphonium based ionic liquids: Potential green solvents for separation of butanol from aqueous media

        Depleting conventional resources leads to the development of alternate energy sources as a result of rising energy demand. As a result of its high energy content, bio-butanol is an appealing fuel. Yet, a fermentation method of butanol generation by acetone*butanol*ethanol using solventogenic Clostridium has significant limitations. In addition to repressing microbial movement (normally greater than 10 g/L), it also affects their production. In order to separate butanol from aging broth, various separation techniques can be used. As an alternative to traditional solvents, ionic liquids can be used as novel extractants to counter these problems. In the present paper, separation of butanol (simulated) from aqueous media utilizing typical hydrophobic ionic liquids was studied at 298±1 K. Various parameters, such as distribution coefficent (Kd), extraction efficiency (%), diffusion coefficient, solvent-to-feed ratio diffusion coefficient, and number of stages necessary for butanol separation, have been studied. Separation of butanol from aqueous solutions (0.25-2.5 wt%)Trihexyltetradecylphosphonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl) amide-CYPHOS IL 109 THTDP [NTF2] ionic liquid, (purity 95.0%), Trihexyltetradecylphosphonium chloride-CYPHOS IL 101 THTDP[Cl] (purity 95.0%), at ambient conditions (298.15±1 K) was carried out. The average separation efficiency of butanol was observed highest (%E 80.43) with hydrophobic THTDP [NTF2] ionic liquid. The maximum average distribution coefficient (Kd) 11.055 was found for RTIL ionic liquid THTDP [NTF2] compared to THTDP [Cl] ionic liquid. Minimum solvent-tofeed ratio was observed for ionic liquid, THTDP [NTF2], (S/Fmin, 0.3829) and for THTDP [Cl], (S/Fmin, 0.201). Due to excellent/better mixing blending properties with gasoline and diesel fuels, recovery of this prospective butanol by ionic liquid could be utilized in gasoline-driven combustion systems. It would be a more promising alternative to ethanol and gasoline for large-scale applications. Thus, after evaluating the above parameters, it has been determined that butanol would be the most effective renewable biofuel for commercialization using ionic liquids as an extractant.

        In the earth more than half of the space filled with water. In that water most of the part is in the form of oceans. The ocean atmosphere determines climate on the land. Combining the Underwater Acoustic Sensor Network (UWASN) system with Internet Of Things (IoT) is called Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT). Using IoUT we can find the changes in the ocean environment. Underwater sensor nodes are used in UWASN. Underwater sensor nodes are constructive in offshore investigation, disaster anticipation, data gathering, assisted navigation, pollution checking and strategic inspection. By using IoT components such as Database, Server and Internet, ocean data can be broadcasted. This paper introduces IoUT architecture and and explains fish forming application scenario with this IoUT architecture.

        Effects of eye dominance on shade matching and color perception among the dentist population

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of eye dominance on color perception, and shade matching. Materials and Methods: A total of 104 participants were selected for the study. There were 3 groups: Group I: 3rd and 4th year dental students and interns (n = 40); Group II: postgraduates (n = 34); Group III: senior residents and faculty members (≥ 6 years of clinical experience) (n = 30). All participants were evaluated for congenital color blindness with Ishihara plates, their dominant eye with Mile's test, and their color perception with the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 hue test. The shade guide test was used for shade matching with a second corresponding set of Vitapan classical shade guides. Results: The results of Mile’s test revealed that 60.6% were right-eye dominant and 39.4% were left-eye dominant. There was a statistically significant difference among all participants between the dominant eye and the non-dominant eye in shade matching. Conclusions: The dominant eye has a positive effect on shade matching and the ability to match shades becomes better with an increase in clinical experience.

        Dispossession and Extractivism in the Life of the Marginalized: An Ecofeminist Reading of Mahasweta Devi’s Witch

        This paper is an attempt to study Mahasweta Devi’s short story Witch from the collection Bitter Soil (1998), in an ecofeminist perspective focusing on the deleterious effects of extractivism, bonded labor system and exploitation of the unprivileged and the environment. Devi describes vividly the outrages, the prejudices of tribal women, the oppression of the tribal community, and the exploitation of the environment in this short story. Tribals were dispossessed and displaced from their indigenous places by the medieval ancient kings and also by the rulers of the British Empire in the pre-independence period; their grievances were further aggravated by the developmental activities of post-colonial India such as land conversion and forest clearing. In the chosen work, Devi constructs an ecological consciousness and promotes the harmony of human lives with nature. The article explains how extractivism as a principle is more profit-oriented and insensitive to the damage done to people and the environment. It also systematically explores how the story Witch adds a new dimension to the already existing discourse of ecofeminism, based on several propositions from the West as well as Indian facets, which are even more pluralistic.

        Experimental and numerical analysis of tensile and flexure tests on a hybrid Aramid/E glass composites

        This paper focuses on the characterization of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Polymer (HFRP) specimens made through a hand layupprocess, consisting of unidirectional Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) and aramid Fiber Reinforced Polymer(AFRP) plies stacked in the same direction with an orientation angle of 0° and varying thicknesses. Tensile and flexure testswere conducted following ASTM standards, and the results were examined. Additionally, Finite Element Method (FEM) usingABAQUS software was employed to study the properties of these hybrid composites. A comparison between experimental andFEM results was made. The HF4 composite, with a high thickness, exhibited superior tensile strength and modulus of elasticityof 302 MPa and 14.26 GPa, respectively. The flexure test of the HF4 hybrid composite laminate demonstrated a flexiblestructure with a bending modulus of 9.96 GPa. The findings suggest that the inclusion of aramid fiber and glass plies as anextreme can significantly improve the characteristics of hybrid composites.
