Ovarian cancer (OC) is the most common gynecological malignancyworldwide, and chemoresistance occurs in most patients,resulting in treatment failure. A better understanding of themolecular processes underlying drug resistance is crucial fordevelopment of efficient therapies to improve OC patient outcomes. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) and ferroptosis play crucialroles in tumorigenesis and resistance to chemotherapy. However,little is known about the role(s) of circRNAs in regulatingferroptosis in OC. To gain insights into cisplatin resistance inOC, we studied the ferroptosis-associated circRNA circSnx12. We evaluated circSnx12 expression in OC cell lines and tissuesthat were susceptible or resistant to cisplatin using quantitativereal-time PCR. We also conducted in vitro and in vivoassays examining the function and mechanism of lnc-LBCSs. Knockdown of circSnx12 rendered cisplatin-resistant OC cellsmore sensitive to cisplatin in vitro and in vivo by activatingferroptosis, which was at least partially abolished by downregulationof miR-194-5p. Molecular mechanics studies indicatethat circSnx12 can be a molecular sponge of miR-194-5p, whichtargets SLC7A11. According to our findings, circSnx12 amelioratescisplatin resistance by blocking ferroptosis via a miR-194-5p/SLC7A11 pathway. CircARNT2 may thus serve as an effectivetherapeutic target for overcoming cisplatin resistance in OC.

Incarvillea is a genuswith considerable ornamental and medicinal value, yet many of its 16 species are threatened in the wild and two (Incarvillea forrestii and Incarvillea altissima) may be extinct. An extensive field survey of the Chinese species has shown that logging is the greatest threat to woodland margin species, while overgrazing by cattle endangers species from alpine meadows. To aid the setting of conservation priorities, we used phylogenetic weighting of species, based on the molecular phylogeny of both nuclear (nrITS) and chloroplast (trnL-F region) gene regions. We estimated molecular diversity with measures for genetic diversity (GD) and phylogenetic diversity (PD). PD/GD values highlighted the importance of Incarvillea sinensis and two Central Asian species, Incarvillea semiretschenskia and Incarvillea olgae from Kazakstan and Kirghizia, for which little is known. This combination of phylogenetic and complementarity analyses focused on the provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan, and Qinghai, with Yunnan having the only adequately protected areas for that genus.

Catalytic performances and leaching behavior of 9 natural iron minerals as heterogeneous electro-Fentoncatalysts for the treatment of imidacloprid wastewater were studied. The results showed that magnesioferriteexhibited the best catalytic ability among these minerals with UV absorbance at 270 nm (UV270)removal of 83.59% and COD removal of 49.11% within 4 h using graphite cathode and Ti/(RuO2)0.88-(IrO2)0.12 anode at initial pH 3 with a catalyst dose of 5 g/L, a current density of 40 mA/cm2 and an electrodespacing of 2 cm. The instantaneous current efficiency (ICE) at 4 h and energy consumption (EC)reached 2.30% and 2.20 kWh/gCOD respectively. It was found that the components contained in naturaliron minerals, such as Al, alkali metal (K) and alkaline earth metals (Mg, Ca, Ba), would dissolve into theelectrolyte solution, raising the final pH to 6.5–8.5 and ultimately reducing the reaction efficiency. Exceptmagnetite and magnesioferrite, other minerals, such as ilmenite and V-Ti magnetite, were likely to causesecondary pollution. The subsequent adjustment to alkaline state for chemical precipitation of leachedMn was needed. Pyrite showed relatively high leachability in hazardous elements (especially Pb), whichshould be carefully evaluated before its actual application in electro-Fenton process.
Transient Snakes in an Ohmic Plasma Associated with a Minor Disruption in the HT-7 Tokamak

A transient burst (2 ms, an order of the fast-particle slowdown timescale) of a spontaneous snakeis observed for the first time in a HT-7 heavy impurity ohmic plasma. The features of the low-Zimpurity snake are presented. The flatten electron profile due to the heavy impurity reveals theformation of a large magnetic island. The foot of the impurity accumulation is consistent with thelocation of the transient snake. The strong frequency-chirping behaviors and the spatial structuresof the snake are also presented.
