      • OECD 국가들의 코로나19와 주거정책

        전 세계가 코로나바이러스감염증-19(이하 코로나19) 팬데믹으로 인해 인구·사회·경제·보건 등 다양한 분야에 걸쳐 큰 위기를 겪고 있다. 특히 코로나19는 부동산·주택 시장의 불확실성을 높이고, 실제적인 주거 안정성에 부정적 영향을 끼치고 있다. 이에 경제협력개발기구(OECD) 회원국들은 코로나19로 인한 주거 위기에 즉각적으로 대응하고 중·장기적 계획을 세워 자국민의 주거 안정에 힘쓰고 있다. 단기적으로는 현재 살고 있는 주택에 계속 거주할 수 있는 주거 안정성 확보를 위한 정책을 시행하고 있다. 퇴거 유예 및 계약 연장 정책이나 대출상환 및 압류 유예 정책이 대표적이다. 중·장기적으로 공공부문의 주택 공급 및 투자 확대 정책과 친환경·지속가능 주택 개발 필요성이 제기된다. OECD 회원국들의 정책을 벤치마킹하여 국내 주거 분야 위기 대응 전략을 마련하는 것이 긴요한 때이다.

        Hydrology of the Gulf intra-coastal waterway in the San Bernard-Brazos river estuaries, Texas, USA: Oxygen isotopic ratio and salinity

        A hydrological study using oxygen isotopic ratiosand salinities was carried out in the San Bernard-Brazos RiverEstuaries, Brazoria County, Texas, USA, to understand the influ-ence of 4 fresh water sources draining into the area, Brazos River,San Bernard River, Oyster Creek, and Jones Creek, on variousparts of the Gulf Intra-Coastal Waterway (GIW) that transectsthese rivers half to 1 mile inland of the Gulf of Mexico. The mea-sured oxygen isotopic ratios and salinities of GIW waters areexplained with simple mixing between one of the 4 fresh watersources with marine water and made it possible to identify 3 sub-areas of the GIW, each of which is influenced by different fresh-water source. These sub-areas locate on the western part of theBrazos River, between the Brazos and Old Brazos River, and onthe eastern part of the Old Brazos River, and have their freshwa-ter source from the San Bernard River, Brazos River, and OysterCreek, respectively. An interesting result was found in the GIWbetwen the San Bernard and Brazos Rivers, where fresh water ismainly sourced from the San Bernard River although its dis-charge rate is 40 to 100 times less than that of the Brazos River.This westerly flow of the San Bernard River toward the largerBrazos River is due to shallowing of the San Bernard River at theriver mouth, which restricts free discharge of river water to opensea and diverts the flow toward the GIW on both sides of the river.The influence of the other two creeks, Oyster and Jones, wasminor and limited near the confluence with the GIW due to minorinfluxes. The generalized flow pattern derived in this study isessential for the construction of contingency plan against toxiccontaminations, which wil minimize environmental impact onnumerous organisms living in the GIW. The results of this studyare also useful for tracing of contaminants in the studied GIW.

        A report of 26 unrecorded bacterial species in Korea, belonging to the Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes

        An outcome of the study to discover indigenous prokaryotic species in Korea, a total of 26 bacterial species assigned to the classes Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes were isolated from diverse environmental samples collected from soil, tidal flat, freshwater, seawater, wetland, plant roots, and fermented foods. From the high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity (>99.0%) and formation of a robust phylogenetic clade with the closest species, it was determined that each strain belonged to each independent and predefined bacterial species. There is no official report that these 26 species have been described in Korea; therefore 14 strains for the order Flavobacteriales and two strains for the order Cytophagales were assigned to the class Bacteroidetes, and 8 strains for the order Bacillales and 4 strains for the order Lactobacillales were assigned to the class Firmicutes are reported for new bacterial species found in Korea. Gram reaction, colony and cell morphology, basic biochemical characteristics, isolation source, and strain IDs are also described in the species description section.

        Effects of Collective Leadership on Follower’s Work Engagement

        본 연구는 국내 기업의 근무자를 대상으로 집합적 리더십의 효과성을 연구하는데 있어 심리적 임파워먼트와 직무열의의 관계를 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 집합적 리더십이 직무열의에 미치는 영향, 집합적 리더십과 직무열의간의 관계에서 심리적 임파워먼트의 매개효과 그리고 심리적 임파워먼트와 직무열의간의 관계에서 자기효능감의 조절효과를 검증하였다. 국내 7개 기업 237명을 대상으로 연구를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료의 분석과 통계처리를 위하여 SPSS21.0과 M-Plus6을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 집합적 리더십은 종업원의 직무열의에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌고 이 과정에서 종업원의 심리적 임파워먼트는 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 검증되었다. 이러한 결과는 집합적 리더십이 종업원의 심리적 임파워먼트를 촉진하고 직무열의에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 주요 변인임을 입증하는 것이다. 종업원의 심리적 임파워먼트와 직무열의의 관계에서 종업원의 자기효능감은 조절효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 본 연구 결과가 주는 이론적 및 실무적 함의를 논하였으며, 마지막으로 연구의 한계 및 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between collective leadership and employee’s work engagement and psychological empowerment. This study tested the impact of collective leadership on employee’s work engagement and the mediating role of psychological empowerment between the two variables. And also, this study tested moderating role of self-efficacy between psychological empowerment and work engagement. A total of 237 employees in 7 companies in South Korea participated in this study. The SPSS 21.0 and M-Plus6 statistical programs were used in this study to analyze and statistically process the collected survey data. The result showed that collective leadership positively influence employee’s work engagement and psychological empowerment works as mediator in the relationship between collective leadership and employee’s work engagement. This results means that collective leadership is a crucial factor to facilitate employee’s psychological empowerment toward employee’s work engagement. Self-efficacy had moderating effect between psychological empowerment and work engagement. Finally, theoretical and practical implications of the study results have been discussed along with limitations and future direction of the study.

        English Raising Constructions and Their Korean Translations

        This paper was to investigate subject-to-subject [SS] raising and subject-to-object [SO] raising constructions in English as well as the linguistic factors which affect the Korean translations of the raising constructions. This study mainly discussed four main concerns. First, there is difference in the markedness of the raising depending on the SS or SO raising in terms of the frequency of tokens in English and Korean. Second, SS raising constructions in both languages are prominently used for the topicality of the raised subject, and the topicality in the SS raising is reflected in the Korean translations by the choice of the topic marker or nominative marker. However, the topicality in the SO raising in English is not clearly reflected by the SO raising in the Korean translations. Third, it is claimed that the modality predicates in English induce much more SS raising than their corresponding non-raising construction. In the translated version, almost all instances of the SS raising are translated with the raising construction in Korean. Fourth, the SO raising in the translations are conditioned by the feature of contrastive meaning.

        Grammatical Metaphorizing in SFL and Its Implication in English-Korean Translation

        The purpose of this study is to show that there is a difference in degree of grammatical “metaphorizing” in Systemic Functional Linguistics(SFL) between English and Korean texts, which is shown in the translations from English into Korean texts. The followings are discussed in this paper. First, the low frequency of the use of grammatical metaphor(GM) constructions in Korean translations may be due to the strong animacy constraint in Korean. Second, ideational GMs in English are canonically translated with the congruent realizations and clause complexes in Korean translations. Third, we need to broaden the research domains of GM and to deal with both ideational and interpersonal GM phenomena in English and Korean. It is shown that the same translational tendency is observed for the English-into-Korean translations of interpersonal GMs. Given Goddard’s(2011) suggestion for the “metaphorizing” differences between languages, Korean translations are expected to show less instances of GM constructions than their English source texts, considering the typological distinction between object dominant languages(as in English) and action dominant languages(as in Korean). The expectation is shown to be true of English-into-Korean translations.

        A report of 156 unrecorded bacterial species of Republic of Korea belonging to the phyla Acidobacteriota, Deinococcota, Actinomycetota, Bacillota, Bacteroidota, and Pseudomonadota isolated in 2022

        As part of a comprehensive investigation of indigenous prokaryotic species in Republic of Korea in 2022, 156 bacterial strains were isolated from diverse environmental habitats. These strains were assigned to six phyla, namely Acidobacteriota, Deinococcota, Actinomycetota, Bacillota, Bacteroidota, and Pseudomonadota. Each strain was identified based on 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity (>98.7%) and the formation of robust phylogenetic clades with their closest reported species. Among isolates, there is one species belonging to the phylum Acidobacteriota, one species belonging to the phylum Deinococcota, 28 species belonging to the phylum Actinomycetota, 19 species belonging to the phylum Bacillota, 19 species belonging to the phylum Bacteroidota, and 88 species belonging to the phylum Pseudomonadota (comprising 34 species of the class Alphaproteobacteria, 20 species of the class Betaproteobacteria, and 34 species of the class Gammaproteobacteria). Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, each strain was assigned to independent and predefined bacterial species. Since there were no published or official reports regarding these 156 isolates in Republic of Korea, they are reported as unrecorded species in Republic of Korea. The Gram stain, colony and cell morphology, basic biochemical characteristic, isolation source, and strain ID of each species are described in the species descriptions

        Modeling of a Soft Gripper with Hyper-Elastic FEA and Deep Learning

        Several approaches have been attempted to obtain theoretical behavioral data required for designing soft grippers, which have recently gained attention in the industry. However, most of these approaches require experimental parameters or rely on time-consuming nonlinear finite element analysis. In this research, we implemented a deep learning model by training it on I/O data from simplified finite element analysis to create a dynamic model of soft grippers that can adapt to various situations, and verified that it has sufficiently applicable performance. This enables the expansion of design flexibility, such as the ability to analyze various situations without the need to create physical prototypes, by implementing a completely theoretical dynamic model.
