        의미를 촉진하는 가면? 의미에 저항하는 실재! : 롤랑 바르트의 사진론과 그의 기호학적 모험에 대한 상호텍스트적 분석

        이 논문은 롤랑 바르트의 기호학적 여정에서 그의 사진론이 차지하는 위치를 규명한다. 바르트는 소쉬르의 언어학을 바탕으로 기호학을 발전시킨 후 전 생애에 걸쳐 기호학의 새로운 지평을 열어간 급진적 모험가다. 이 모험을 1978년의 『강의』에 따라 세미오피지스, 세미오클라스티, 세미오트로피의 3단계로 나누어 고찰한 이 논문은 바르트의 궤적이, 실재와 거리를 두고 기호의 의미작용에 전념한 구조주의 기호학으로부터, 기호의 분해를 통해 의미작용에 갇히기를 거부하는 기호학의 해체를 거쳐, 기호 너머의 실재를 통해 의미-이후를 내다본 포스트구조주의 기호학으로의 이행임을 제시했다. 이러한 기호학적 모험의 변곡점마다 어김없이 등장했던 주제가 사진이다. 기호와 실재 사이에 위치한 이중적 속성을 통해 사진은 바르트의 기호학적 모험에서 근본 동인이었던 의미화의 문제에 성찰의 계기를 제공했던 것이다. 더욱이 기호에 대한 주목으로부터 실재에 대한 주목으로 나아간 사진론의 궤적도 의미작용에 대한 주목으로부터 의미생성에 대한 주목으로 이행한 그의 기호학적 궤적과 정확하게 일치한다. 따라서 바르트의 사진론은 바르트의 기호학적 모험을 선명하게 대변하는 위치에 있음을 알 수 있다. This article sheds light both on Roland Barthes as a semiologist and on as a photography theorist among his various identities. First, Barthes the semiologist is the one who had continued to go on the radical adventures from the start when he had developed his semiology based on Saussure’s linguistics to open new horizons for the rest of his life. His semiological adventures begun with Mythologie(1957) is here divided into three stages of sémiophysis, sémioclastie, sémiotropie according to Leçon(1978), because these stages clearly show the trajectory of Barthes’ semiological shifts from Structuralist semiology concentrating on signification of signs, through dismantling semiology by seperation of signs to refuse to be constrained in signification, to Post-structuralist semiology seeking the post-signification by the real. Then, this article reveals that Barth's photography theory is in a central position to represent Barth’s semiological adventures more clearly than any other discussion of media. Because photography as a theme that had appeared at every shifting point of his semiotic adventures for a quarter century, from Mythologie to La chambre claire(1980), did it not only provide an opportunity for fundamental reflection on the matter of making meaning which was the ultimate concern of Barthes’ semiotic adventures through the unique dual attribute of being located between a sign and a thing, but the trajectory of his photography theory itself, which shifted from attention to the sign to attention to the thing, accurately represents his semiotic trajectory from attention to signification to attention to significance.

        유아 인성그림책 읽어주기에 토대한 부모소모임의 참여 경험: 시작, 실행, 그리고 기대

        본 연구는 유아기 자녀에게 인성그림책 읽어주기 활동에 토대한 부모소모임이 어떻게 시작되었고 어떠한 과정을 거쳤으며, 그 과정에서 나타난 어머니들의 변화와 기대는 무엇이었는지 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 나아가 보다 나은 자녀양육을 위한 자발적이고 주체적인 부모참여 활동의 활성화 및 이에 대한 폭넓은 지원 강화에 궁극적인 목적을 두었다. 연구 참여자는 부모소모임에 참여해본 경험이 있는 유아기 자녀를 둔 5명의 어머니였으며, 이들을 개별면담 및 집단면담하고 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 유아 인성그림책 읽어주기에 토대한 부모소모임의 참여 과정은 ‘개인적 관심과 불안 및 설렘으로부터의 모임 결성, 세상과의 소통이 물꼬를 튼 본격적 시작, 확산된 긍정적 결과를 낳은 만남의 과정, 코로나 19(COVID-19) 확산으로 잠정 중단된 모임에 대한 앞으로의 기대’가 의미 주제로 도출되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 앞으로의 자녀양육을 위한 자발적이고 주체적인 부모참여 활동이 더욱 다양화되고 강화되기를 기대한다. 그리고 유아기 자녀양육을 위해 보다 자발적이고 주체적인 부모참여 활동의 중요성을 밝히고 그 방향성 및 실제적 방안을 제시하였다는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study was to explore how the parental gathering started, what process it went through, and what changes appeared to mothers in the process, based on the activity of reading personality-related picture books to young children. Furthermore, the ultimate purpose was to strengthen and broadly support voluntary and subjective parental participation activities for better child rearing. 5 mothers with young children who had experience participating in parents’ meetings were selected as participants in the study, and individual and group interviews were conducted. According to the results, the process of participating in parental group participation based on the child's personality-related picture book reading is from the formation of a group that started with anxiety and excitement in general, to a full-scale start of a group that has positive communication with the world, sharing child-raising information and relational healing. And the process of meeting that has resulted in diffuse positive results, and future expectations for meetings that were temporarily suspended due to the spread of COVID-19 were derived as the subjects of meaning of the results. Therefore it is expected that voluntary and subjective parental participation activities for better parenting of young children will be strengthened, and various measures to support this will be prepared. In addition, this study has educational implications in that it reveals the importance of more voluntary and subjective parent participation activities for the parenting of young children, and suggests its direction and practical measures.

        지속가능성 측면에서 바라본 종이 조형 사례 연구

        이 연구는 종이 조형물을 조형적 관점만이 아닌 지속가능성을 위한 노력이라는 관점에서도 바라보고 그 관점의 기준에 적합한 작품들에 관해 조명하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 이를 위한 연구 방법은 문헌과 자료조사 진행 후, 종이 조형 사례를 찾는 것이다. 자료와 문헌 조사를 통해서 미술사 속 위치와 친환경성을 알 수 있고, 1960~70년대 미국을 중심으로 한 환경운동과 미술사적 사건들을 통해 조형 작가들이 종이를 매체로 자신들의 생각을 표현할 수 있게 된 배경을 알 수 있다. 조형 사례 연구에서 는 지속가능성을 위해 필요한 세 가지 측면을 근거로 제작과정에서의 환경적 노력, 자원의 경제적 노력, 사회 반영적 노력으로 나누어 분류하였다. 선별된 작가와 작품은 국내외에서는 이미 조형성과 예술적 가치가 높게 평가된 작가와 작품들이다. 이들 작품을 다음의 세 단계로 분류해 보았다. 제작과정 에서의 환경적 노력은 작품 제작에 있어서 종이를 직접 만드는 작가들의 사례, 자원의 경제적 노력은 폐지를 재활용하여 작품을 진행하는 작가들의 사례로, 사회 반영적 노력에서는 지속가능성에 대한 의 미를 대중에게 전달하고자 종이로 제작되는 퍼포먼스 형식으로 전시된 설치작품들이다. 작품설명은 작품 평론과 작가의 인터뷰를 토대로 진행했으며 작품이 제작되는 과정과 작가의 작품세계를 이해할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 같은 사례 연구는 창의적인 조형물이 환경을 생각하는 관점과 병행 해 왔음을 살필 수 있다. 이 연구 과정을 통해서 종이 조형 작가들은 전술한 바와 같은 관점에서 지속 가능성에 부합하는 독창성 있는 작품세계를 발전시켜왔음을 알 수 있다. 결과적으로, 종이 조형 사례를 통해서 조형성과 지속가능성이 공존할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있다. The purpose of this research is to focus on works that meet the standards of this perspective by looking at paper sculptures not only from a figurative perspective but also from the perspective of efforts for sustainability. The research method is to search for cases of paper molding after researching documents and materials. Data and literature surveys show the position of paper in art history and the eco-friendliness of paper, and environmental movements and art historical events centered on the United States in the 1960s and 1970s allow sculptors to express their thoughts through paper media. In the formative case study, based on the three aspects necessary for sustainability, environmental efforts in the production process, economic efforts of resources, and social reflection efforts were classified. The selected artists and works are those whose formativeness and artistic value are already highly evaluated at home and abroad. I classified these works into the following three stages. The environmental effort in the production process is the case of the artists who make paper themselves in the production of the work, the economic effort of resources is the case of the artists who recycle the waste paper to proceed with the work. These are installation works that are exhibited in the form of a performance made out of paper to convey to the audience. The description of the work was conducted based on the work criticism and the artist's interview, and the process of the work and the artist's work world were understood. This case study shows that creative sculptures have been in parallel with the perspective of thinking about the environment. Through this study, it can be seen that the paper formative artists have developed a unique world of work that is suitable for sustainability from the above point of view. As a result, it can be confirmed that formativeness and sustainability can coexist in the case of paper art works.

      • Potential Human Stress Factors in Sailing Environment

        Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate human stress factors which can have influence on human performance and comfort in sailing environment. Background: When people are exposed to the certain environment for performing the task, they experience various environmental stress factors. Ergonomic factors should be considered for designing work space and work environment with comfort and health, so that human performance can be fulfilled effectively. In the case of yacht, especially, such as the sailing yacht which requires trimming the sails and the motor yacht which needs electric motors, it would be important to consider comfort as well as the performance for sailors. It can be useful information to design the boat and plan the sailing activity, figuring out the human stress factors related to human performance, health and comfort and understanding the relation among the human stress factors. Method: It deals with human stress factors and symptoms related to the stress factors which can affect the task performance and comfort while human are exposed to the physical environment such as vibration, impact, lighting, noise, thermal stress and pressure on board. Results: A influential stress factors on human performance and comfort during sailing are vibration, impact, and thermal stress and the major symptoms are motion sickness and injury although a number of studies showed that injury patterns and other symptoms would be various depending on the boat classes and crew positions which can make their activity levels changed. Conclusion: It is likely to require minimizing the effects of the physical stress factors such as vibration, impact, thermal stress and pressure and alleviating the symptoms such as motion sickness and injury. Application: This result can be applied to developing hull design as well as sailing gear related to sailing boats in order to alleviating sailors’ stress factors.

      • Technology trend for the development of helmet based on analysis of Korea patents

        Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the technology trend on developing helmets based on the analysis of Korea patents. Background: Human has experience with different risk factors depending on the type of activity and the exposed environment such as sport activity or industrial site. Therefore, the usage of the personal protective equipment would be essential for preventing the injury and reducing the severity of injury. Especially, the helmet out of the personal protective equipment has an essential role. Method: Database of WIPSON was used for searching the patents. The objects were the domestic patents registered or opened from January, 2011 to August, 2014. The keyword to investigate was ‘helmet’ and then the patents not related to helmet were excluded. The patents were divided by four categories. Class A was comprised of shell, liner, strap and other parts of inside helmets, Class B was made up of items of outside helmets including the application of IT technology, Class C was composed of mounting platform and method for attaching accessories of Class B, and Class D consisted of the method for producing composite materials. Results: The number of patents from 2011 to 2013 was not consistent, and the number was much lower in 2012 than the ones in 2011 and 2013. Technology for strengthening the shell or liner of helmets in order to improve safety was shown. Furthermore, technology for the extended functions added to the helmet took the largest rate. Some helmets were developed for the specific activity, and helmets for motorbike, welding, sports/leisure were developed every year. However, patents of helmets for aircraft, disaster aid and patrol only appeared in 2011 and patents on helmets for forestry work and horse riding appeared just in 2013. Conclusion: Helmet with the original function such as the shock absorption to protect the head has continuously been developed and patents of helmets which were applied IT technology on had the largest rate by each year. Application: The technology was used for developing helmets can be applied when another kinds of personal protective equipment are developed.

        Subjective Responses to Thermal Stress for the Outdoor Performance of Smart Clothes

        Objective : The aim of this study was to explore the influence of outdoor weather conditions on subjective responses during physical activity. Background: The largest difference between indoor and outdoor conditions is the existence of the sun. The heat load from the sun has an influence on the heat gain of the human body and the intense degree of solar radiation affected thermal comfort. Method : Thirty eight people were exposed to a range of climatic conditions in the UK. Weather in England does not have extremely hot and cold temperature, and the current study was conducted under warm (summer and autumn) and cool (spring and summer) climates. Measurements of the climate included air temperature, radiant temperature (including solar load), humidity and wind around the subjects. Subjective responses were taken and physiological measurements included internal body temperature, heart rate and sweat loss. Results : This study was conducted under four kinds of environmental conditions and the environmental measurement was performed in September, December, March, and June. The values for sensation, comfort, preference, and pleasantness about four conditions were from "neutral" to "warm", from "not uncomfortable" to "slightly comfortable", from "slightly cooler" to "slightly warmer", and from "neither pleasant nor unpleasant" and "slightly unpleasant", respectively. All subjective responses showed differences depending on air temperature and wind speed, and had correlations with air temperature and wind speed (p <0.05). However, subjective responses showed no differences depending on the radiant temperature. The combined effects of environmental parameters were showed on some subjective responses. The combined effects of air temperature and radiant temperature on thermal sensation and pleasantness were significant. The combined effects of metabolic rate with air temperature, wind speed and solar radiation respectively have influences on some subjective responses. In the case of the relationships among subjective responses, thermal sensation had significant correlations with all subjective responses. The largest relationship was shown between preference and thermal sensation but acceptance showed the lowest relationship with the other subjective responses. Conclusion : The ranges of air temperature, radiant temperature, wind speed and solar radiation were 6.7℃ to 24.7℃, 17.9℃ to 56.6℃, 0.84ms-1 to 2.4ms-1, and 123Wm-2 to 876Wm-2 respectively. Each of air temperature and wind speed had significant relationships with subjective responses. The combined effects of environmental parameters on subjective responses were shown. Each radiant temperature and solar radiation did not show any relationships with subjective responses but the combinations of each radiant temperature and solar radiation with other environmental parameters had influences on subjective responses. The combinations of metabolic rate with air temperature, wind speed and solar radiation respectively have influences on subjective responses although metabolic rate alone hardly made influences on them. There were also significant relationships among subjective responses, and pleasantness generally showed relatively high relationships with comfort, preference, acceptance and satisfaction. Application : Subjective responses might be utilized to predict thermal stress of human and the application products reflecting human subjective responses might apply to the different fields such as fashion technology, wearable devices, and environmental design considering human"s response etc.

        Characteristics of Cerebral Microbleeds

        Cerebral microbleeds (CMBs) are increasingly recognized neuroimaging findings, occurring with cerebrovascular disease, dementia, and aging. CMBs are associated with subsequent hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, and also with an increased risk of cognitive deterioration and dementia. They occur in the setting of impaired small vessel integrity due to hypertension or cerebral amyloid angiopathy. This review summarizes the concepts, cause or risk factors, histopathological mechanisms, and clinical consequences of CMBs.
