To present and examine the theories established by many scholars on the basis of the ideas of "John Deweys" Pragmatism. It must be asserted that the importance of the vocational Training be recognized to give a Proper conception to it.
CRACK 開口變位에 기초한 微小疲勞크랙 전파法則의 考察

Bending fatigue tests were carried out on the specimenes with tow different strength levels in order to investigate small crack growth rate. The main results obtained are as follows : (1) Small crack growth law, da/dn = Cσ?a is useful several materials, but is not the rule applicable to all cases generally. (2) When da/dn in several specimens are equal. COD near the crack tip are also nerarly equal. (3) Crack tip opening displacement (CTOD) is the main factor to control the small crack growth rate, and da/dn ? CTOD comes into being between the two. Accordingly, da/dn = c(σ?/σ)?a? shows the small crack growth rate being reflected crack closure phenomenon.

A study has been made on the behavior of microscopic fatigue crack growth at the stress level of the fatigue limit with ferrite-martensitic structures. For the above purpose, two types of the microstructures were prepared ; one is the microstructure having the ferrite encapsulating the islands of second phase martensite(FEM), the other is the microstructure with the martensite encapsulating the islands of ferrite(MEF). It has been pointed out that the fatigue limits of these microstructures are related to the critical stress at which the microcrack in the MEF microstructure in which the critical crack length would be restricted within the second phase spacing in contrast with the FEM microstruture. However, the fatigue tests shows that no appreciable difference of the fatigue limits among them were recognized. Also, it turned out from the metallographic observations that the micro crack path is very much affected by the microstructures, so that the microcracks grow according to the 3-dimentional situation of its microstructures.

Emphysematous cystitis is an uncommon disease in which bacterias produce gas within the bladder wall and surrounding tissue. Patients with diabetes, neurogenic bladder and chronic urinary tract infection are predisposed to the disease. It is usually caused by E.coli and Klebsiella. Severity of illness ranges from an asymtomatic condition to life threatening cystitis. Succesful management depends on early diagnosis with correction of underlying causes, administration of appropriate antibiotics, establishment of adequate bladder drainage and surgical excision of involved tissue when required. We report a case of 52-year-old woman who did not compain of symtoms of cystitis but epigastric pain, nausea, and vomitting. Emphysematous cystitis was revealed on the abdominal X-ray series incidentally. CT scans of the pelvis showed mottled gas bubble within the bladder. After treatment, the symtoms subsided and plain abdominal film showed no evidence of gas shadow in the pelvic cavity.
Enhanced Stability of Hydroxyapatite-coated Liposomes for Ultrasound-triggered Drug Release

Thermosensitive liposomes (TSLs) have been developed for enhancing drug release in the tumor microenvironment by external stimulations, such as hyperthermia, for cancer chemotherapy. However, the TSL-induced side effect of the drug on normal cells after intravenous (i.v.) injection is usually found in circulation. Therefore, we developed sterically stabilized TSLs by coating hydroxyapatite (HA) onto the liposomal surface to increase its stability in serum. HA coating on the liposomal surface was achieved via the ionic interaction of calcium acetate with phosphoric acid. The amount of HA coated on the liposomal surface was measured by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy. In addition, temperature-sensitive drug release was measured by fluorescence spectrophotometry. The HA-coated TSL (HA-TSL) showed lower drug release at body temperature due to the HA coating on the liposomal surface compared to TSL. Moreover, compared with TSL, HA-TSL showed increased stability in serum, thereby indicating a long circulation time in the body without protein adsorption. Taken together, we demonstrated the use of HA coating on the surface of TSL for enhancing the stability of TSL, and the results indicated the applicability of the method for prolonging the circulation of drugs with carriers within the human body. As a novel and highly effective delivery platform with long circulation in blood streams, HA-TSL shows great potential for use in a broad range of applications for the treatment of various human diseases.

As a church, the Korean American church is at a critical juncture of making an inter-generational transition. On the one hand, a growing number of the first generation church leaders are nearing their retiring age, about to leave behind an admirable legacy of faith and good works. On the other hand, an increasing number of their children, the second generation Korean Americans, are entering their young adulthood, about to assume their responsibilities in their church as full-fledged members if not as leaders. In this context of transition, many questions are being asked about the future direction of the Korean American church, particularly regarding the English-speaking ministry for the second generation congregation. Thus far, many models and approaches of ministry have been proposed and discussed. However, this on-going debate has been taking place mainly at the level of "how to's," concerned mainly with finding new ministry methods and models. One of the urgent tasks facing today's Korean American church, then, is to tackle the task of constructing its own "local" theology as it looks at its future, its own theology which will clarify its own unique missions and goals in this society. In this paper, from Korean first generation immigrant's perspective, I will attempt to outline some of the changes that are occurring in the Korean American "local context" and then to delineate some theological and ethical principles that must be included in the process of constructing such a theology. In carrying out this exercise, I will interact with the readings I have done for the reading course, particularly with Sang Hyun Lee's essay, "Called To Be Pilgrims."
