      • Cluster의 Filler역할을 고려한 스타이렌 아이오노머의 이온 모듈러스의 계산

        In the present work, we attempted to vehfy an entity, which acts as filler in poly(styrene-co-sodium methacrylate) ionomer system; either multiplets or clusters. To do so, we used the approach suggested by Huber and Vilgis (Macromolecules 2002, 35, 9204) to interpret the ionic modulus values, observed in styrene-based ionomer systems. The very preliminary results showed that the expehmental ionic modulus values are very close to the predicted values assuming the clusters as filler. This implies that,as suggested before by one of the author, in this ionomer system, the filler particles are clusters, which, thus, govern the mechanical properties of the whole polymer sample.

      • 약물대사효소계로서의 Flavin-Containing Monooxygenases(FMOs)

        Together with the cytochrome P-450(CYPs) containing mixed function oxidases, the flavin-containing monooxygenase(FMOs) included in mammalian tissue microsomes play a major role in the initial oxidation of xenobiotics containing soft-nucleophiles, including alkaloids, pesticides and drugs to polar metabolite for easier conjugation and excretion. These include tertiary and secondary alkyl- and arylamines, many hydrazines, thiocarbamides, thioamides, sulfieds, disulfides, thiols and other soft nucleophiles. This flavinprotein that catalyzes NADPH- and oxygen-dependent oxidation of a wide range of xenobiotics and durgs is typical for the enzyces of detoxification. The FMO share a mechanism distinctly different from other oxidases bearing flavin, heme or other redox-active prosthetic groups. Several major advances has been made during the last 10 years regarding our understanding of the FMOs, including their catalytic properties, role inmetabolic transformation of xenobiotics to both less and more toxic metabolites, molecular structure, expression patterns, and phenotypes of its activity. There is no question that FMOs are fundamentally different from the enzymes of biosynthesis in that precise binding, tight fit of the xenobiotic substrate to the enzyme is not necessary for catalysis. Therefore, We try to illustrate the various aspect of FMOs characteristics such as substrate specificity, stereoselectivity, molecular characterization and regulation of expression, bioactivation of xenobiotics, contemporary issues in drug metabolism in human in this review.

        However, the cluster Tg increased with increasing degree of neutralization up to 30%, followed by no significant change up to 70%, while on further increasing the degree of neutralization, again the cluster Tg increased considerably. Thus, it was suggested that some of the non- neutralized acrylic acid acted as plasticizer leading to no significant change between 30 to 70% of the degree of neutralization.

      • Li₂O-Na₂O-SiO₂유리의 화학적 내구성

        The reactions between water and mixed alkali glasses have been studied in the several temperatures and times ranging from a few to several houndred minutes. The effects of composition, SA/V ratios, and temperatures on the chemical durability were examined and the magnitude of the mixed-alkali effect was shown to be related to both the corrosion kinetics and the dominant mechanism of corrosion. If SA/V and temperature are higher, the mixed-alkali effect become large. Fro pH≥9, this effect also clearly appears. Because the leaching tendency of alkali and SiO₂are similar, the corrosion mechanism can be explained by ion-exchange and congruent leaching for SiO₂-rich nrotective laver.

      • Gymnema산이 췌장도의 Beta-세포에 미치는 영향

        The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of gymnemic acid(GA) on the ultrastructure as well as cellularity of β-cell in the pancreas of rats(N=12). Also studied was the effect of GA on the serum insulin and blood glucose levels during intravenous glucose tolerance test(IVGTT) in man(N=10). Healty adult male rats(Wistar strain) weighing around 200 gm were divided into the three groups; the control, 500mg-GA, and 800mg-GA groups. GA was administered orally 3 times daily for 14 days. All experimental animals were given food and water ad labitum and were sacrificed at 15th day after the administeration of GA and starved for 24 hours before sacrificing them. The specimens obtained from the pancreatic tissues were fixed in 10% neutral formalin for 18 hours at 4℃. After embedding in paraffin, the specimens were sectioned with microtome to a theckness of 6mm. For observing the cellularity of β-cell in the pancreatic islets, Gomori's stain was performed. For studying the ultradtructural changes in pancreatic β-cell, pancreas specimens of 1m㎥ size were prefixed in 2.0% glutaraldehyde-2.5% parpformaldehyde phosphate buffer solution(pH7.2) and post-fixed in the 1% osmic acid. After specimens were dehydrated and embedded in the Epon 802, sectioned by ultramicrotome(HT-2, Sorvall Porter-Blum, USA) to a thickness of 600Å, and stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate by double contrast method. And these preparations were observed with electron microscope (Hitachi H-600). In IVGTT with or without oral GA(15mg), the subjects were fasted for 12 hours before glucose loading(20ml of 25% glucose solution). The blood glucose and serum insulin level were determined respectively by Glucoscot GT-4301 and EIA(enzyme immunoassay)-insulin kit "Insulotek Mochida" before and at 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes after glucose loading. The results obtained were as follows: 1. In GA(500 mg/kg & 800 mg/kg) treated rats, the cellularity of β-cell throught the pancreatic islets were markedly increased. 2. The insulin secretoty granuled with or without dense core increased in the 500mg-GA group, and the similar changes were obtained in the 800mg-GA group. 3. Following glucose loading, blood sugar level of normal subject elevated from 80.7±2.7 mg/dl to 163.2±15.9mg/dl in 60min. On the other hand, blood glucose level increased from 78.0±2.9mg/dl to 152.1±10.7mg/dl in 30 min after simultaneous administration of glucose and GA. 4. In the IVGTT the serum insulin concentration rose from the basal level of 7.1±1.4 mU/ml to 74.8 15.5 mU/ml while it elevated from 7.4±1.4mU/ml to maximal level of 113.9±33.1 mU/ml in the IVGATT with oral GA. Consequently, it is suggested that gymnemic acid has the direct simulatory effects on the insulin production and secretion of the pancreatci β-cell, and therfore it may be useful for the therapy or prevention of diabetes mellitus.

      • 지구성 운동수행을 위한 대처전략으로써 복잡과제수행시 외적주의집중의 효과

        The purpose of this study was to identify the strategy that cope with the pain conception and the stress accompanying during the motor performance. This study provides many athletes with the basic data which is useful in competitive situations and motor performance. The subjects were 27 undergraduates. Their clasping number was measured with the grip strength dynamometer in the level of 40% of individual maximum grip strength. They were assigned to three groups, Simple Task Group, Complex Task Group, and Control Group. Providing the groups with each different task, the maximum clasping number was measured. The second experiment composing 7㎞ cross-country running was followed the same method of the first experiment. The results were as followings; 1. Paired Samples t-test revealed that maximum clasping number increased the most in the Complex Task Group(p=.000) of all groups and that of Simple Task Group increased significantly. 2. paired Samples t-test demonstrated that Complex Task Group cut the best record of all groups in the 7㎞ cross-country running. As the above, external attention(dissociation) help motor performer to promote the motor performance of two endurance motor tasks, specially, the more the motor the motor task is complex, the more the effect of external attention is.

        국어과 수업 연구의 한 방식

        본 고에서는 국어과 수업 연구의 과정과 수업 관찰 보고의 한 사례를 통해 국어과 수업 연구의 맥락과 보고(report) 방식에 대하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 여기서 살펴 본 자료는 2002년 한국교육과정평가원에서 수행된 『국어과 교육 내실화 방안 연구』(이주섭, 2002)이다. 이 연구에서는 국어과 교육 내실화의 징표는 국어과 수업을 통해 드러난다고 가정하고 국어과 좋은 수업의 여러 양상에 천착하여 국어과 교육을 내실화하기 위한 방안을 찾는 데 목적을 두고 진행되었다. 이 연구에서 좋은 수업 사례에 주목한 까닭은, 좋은 수업이 학교교육, 교실 수업이 겪고 있는 여러 가지 어려움, 혹은 학교교육 위기라는 사회적 우려를 슬기롭게 극복하고 있는 수업이기 때문이다. 위 연구를 수행하기 위한 과정은 국어과 좋은 수업 사례 수집 및 발굴 → 좋은 수업 사례 1차 선정 → 수업 관찰 및 면담 → 좋은 수업 사례 최종 선정 → 기초 자료 결과 정리 → 국어과 교육 내실화 방안 설정 등의 순서로 진행되었다. 본 고에서는 위 연구의 과정 중에서 국어과 좋은 수업 사례로 최종 선정된 5개의 국어과 좋은 수업 사례 중 1개의 사례 보고(report)를 살핌으로써 국어과 수업 연구의 한 방식에 대하여 궁리하려고 하였다. 국어과 좋은 수업 사례들을 선정하기 위해 우선 5가지 형태의 범주를 설정하였다. 설정된 범주는 1)협동학습을 통해 활발한 의미 구성 경험을 제공한 수업, 2)수업과 수행평가의 상호 의존을 통해 평가의 본질을 지향한 수업, 3)대중매체의 활용을 통해 국어과의 외연을 확장한 수업, 4)인성 교육에의 실천과 지역 사회의 언어 문화를 반영한 수업, 5)다양한 독서 교육 프로그램의 적용 등이다. 본 고에서는 ‘1)협동학습을 통해 활발한 의미 구성 경험을 제공하는 수업'이라는 범주에서 최종 선정된 김영석 교사(가명)의 경우를 주로 다루었다. 제시된 수업 사례에 대한 보고 방식은 1)교사의 개인적인 특성 측면, 2)수업 운영 측면(수업 준비, 교수학습방법), 3)평가 측면, 4)수업 환경 측면 등으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 이 가운데에서 교사의 개인적인 특성, 수업 준비, 전문성 신장을 위한 노력과 지원 체계에 대한 내용들은 국어과 좋은 수업을 가능케 하는 동인(動因)으로 작용하는 것들이기도 하다. 국어과 수업 연구는 여러 가지 목적으로 진행될 수 있으며, 연구의 방법 또한 다양하다. 본 고에서는 본격적인 의미에서의 국어과 수업 연구라기보다는 정책 연구 성격의 연구에서 비교적 소략한 질적 연구 방법이 활용된 수업 연구의 한 방식을 살펴보았다. This study attempted to diagnose the present situation of Korean language art education and to find its improving ways based on the case studies of good classes. Cases of good classes were selected because they showed ways to solve current problems of Korean language art classes or because they are desired classes we should follow. To choose cases of good classes in Korean language art, five categories of good classes were established: 1) active meaning construction process through community learning 2) interdependence of classes and performance tests 3) extension of subject contents by utilizing mass media. 4) implementation of personality education and reflections on language culture of local community 5) adoption of various kinds of reading programs. To select classes having properties mentioned above, many cases of Korean language art classes, recommended via several routes, were reviewed by this researcher as well as a Korean language art specialists committee. Consequently, 10 cases of good classes were selected and each of them represented one of five categories. After having been observed, interviewed and analyzed, 5 cases were finally selected through discussion and guidance of a specialists' committee. General properties of good classes were to hold obvious educational philosophy, to interact with students positively, to use effective teaching speech, to make an effort for teacher expertise, to be supported by active school staffs, and to utilize appropriate teaching and testing methods based on intricate class preparation.

        강직성 척추염에 수반된 양측성 측두하악관절 강직

        A 31-year-old male with the complaint of severe limitation of mouth opening was referred to our department of Chonbuk National University Hospital The physical status of the patient was hyposthenic. Extraoral examination showed no condylar movement of the both temporomandibular joints, no pain, no facial swelling or paresthesia. Intraoral examination showed several cervical caries on the upper anterior teeth, and gingival swelling on the whole dentition. Transcranial view showed no condylar movement, and narrowing of joint spaces. Chest P-A view showed straightening of thoracic, lumbar spine, and squaring of vertebrae of the same spines. Conventional lateral radiograph of cervical spine showed calcification of the intervertebral ligament. Computed tomograph showed extensive bone formation between temporal bone and the condylar head at both sides. Laboratory findings showed positive reaction on HLA-B27 histocompatibility antigen and increased level of IgA, IgG, ESR. Based on the clinical, radiographic, and the laboratary findings, final diagnosis was made as bony ankylosis of the both temporo-mandibular joints secondary to ankylosing spondylitis.(Korean J Oral Maxillofac Radiol 2000; 30: 217-222)

        언어적 창의성 신장을 위한 국어과 교수 학습 자료 개발 연구

        이 연구는 창의성 신장을 위한 국어과 교수·학습 원리를 토대로 교육 현장에 적용할 수 있는 교수·학습 자료를 개발하고 동시에 현장 적용을 통하여 개선 방안을 모색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 언어적 창의성은 국어 이해와 표현 상황에서 기존하는 요소들로부터 새롭거나 독창적인 산물을 만들어 가는 동시에 적절성과 유용성을 갖추어 가는 과정으로 규정하고, 국어과 교수학습의 핵심적인 목표인 창의적인 언어 사용 능력은 언어적 창의성을 중심으로 고등한 수준의 사고와 지식, 전략이 복합적으로 작용하여 표현과 이해의 과정 속에서 의미를 구성하고 확장하는 창조적 과정으로 개념화하였다. 그리고 창의적인 언어사용 능력을 기를 수 있는 내용 요소를 현행 교육과정과 교과서를 분석하여 체계화하였다. 그리고 국어과 창의성 신장을 위한 국어과 교수 학습의 기본적인 원리를 토대로 영역별(듣기, 말하기, 읽기, 쓰기)로 교수·학습 자료를 개발하였다. 영역별 교수학습 자료를 개발하기 위하여 구체적인 자료 개발의 원리와 지침을 설정하고, 자료의 유형과 투입시기를 고려하였으며, 구체적인 자료 개발의 틀을 마련하였다. 이 자료는 이론적 요구에 부응하면서 현장 교사들에게 창의성 신장을 위한국어교육을 지원해줄 수 있는 구체적인 자료를 제공할 수 있다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다. The main purpose of this study is to develop the teaching-learning materials in korean language arts for enhancing creativity and inquiry a plan for improvement those materials through application for instructional condition. We have stipulated creativity in language educational area which a process f making creative products from existing elements and a process of satisfaction appropriateness and usefulness in comprehension and expression context. In addition, We have understood creative competence in language use which a creative process of constructing and extending meaning in combination with high degree thinking, knowledge, strategies. Stand on the basis of this stance, we have systematized constituent of teaching Korean language arts for enhancing creativity with analysis for curriculum and textbooks. And then, we have development the teaching-learning materials in korean language arts in basis of fundamental principles of teaching-learning for enhancing creativity in listening, speaking, reading, writing areas. For that, we have established concrete guiding principles and framework for developing instructional materials. These materials developed in this study is significant in that those can give support to teachers for enhancing creativity in Korean language arts education.

        주변성 법랑모세포종의 증례

        Peripheral ameloblastoma is an extremely rare odontogenic soft tissue tumor with histologic characteristics similar to those of the intraosseous ameloblastoma. It appears in the gingiva and oral mucosa. And it usually does not show any bone involvement on radiographs, except for saucer shaped erosion of underlying alveolar bone. Recurrence is considered uncommon. We report a case of peripheral ameloblastoma with bone involvement. Histologically it presented with follicles and nest of tumor cells with palisading pattern. And radiographs showed the typical saucer shaped alveolar bone erosion at the distal area of right mandibular third molar. At 6-month follow-up after operation, no local recurrence was noted.
