Design of a Novel Harmonic-Suppressed Microstrip Low-Pass Filter
Jongkuk Park,Jeong-Phill Kim,Sangwook Nam THE INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS 2007 IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters Vol. No.

A novel harmonic-suppressed microstrip low-pass filter (LPF) is proposed which is composed of defected ground structures and stepped-impedance shunt stubs as series L and shunt C components in the pass-band. Due to the attenuation poles of two kinds of resonators, it is found that harmonic responses are not only suppressed effectively, but the rejection in the stop-band is also deep and wide. Besides, the proposed LPF can be compactly implemented since both kinds of resonators have slow-wave characteristics

An Effective Method for Suppressing Second-Order Beams of 2D Edge Slot Phased Arrays
Jongkuk Park,Hyung-Gi Na,Chan-Hong Kim,Dong-Kook Lee 한국전자파학회JEES 2009 Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science Vol.9 No.1
An effective method is proposed to suppress the second-order beams(SOBs) that result from the cross-polarized fields of 2D edge slot arrays. By rearranging the conventional sequence of stacking waveguides, the SOBs are shown to be considerably reduced and the 9 ㏈ suppression is obtained. The optimal sequence is obtained from the genetic and exhaustive searches and its effects are verified using near-field measurements as well as theoretical estimation. Since the proposed method requires no additional polarizing structures such as baffles, it is very easy and cost-effective to implement.
A Novel Stepped-Patch Loaded CPW and Its Application to a Low-Pass Filter
Jongkuk Park,Hyung-Gi Na,Jongsik Lim 한국전자파학회JEES 2010 Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science Vol.10 No.3
A novel stepped-patch loaded coplanar waveguide(SPLCPW) structure is proposed and applied to the design of a low-pass filter(LPF). The stepped-patch loaded on the opposite side of the CPW plane is shown to provide a shunt-connected series L-C resonance, which is dual to that of a conventional CPW defected ground structure(DGS). As a simple example of the proposed SPLCPW circuit, a 3-pole SPLCPW LPF is designed and good results are obtained.
Emergence of that in long-distance wh-movement in the Korean-English interlanguage
( Jongkuk Lee ),( Il Jae Lee ) 한국외국어대학교 언어연구소 2021 언어와 언어학 Vol.- No.92
This article presents the emergence of that (termed the way-that for terminological convenience) as a remnant copy of wh-word in the course of acquiring long-distance (LD) wh-movement. A cross-sectional task using an elicited oral-translation task was carried out with 30 Korean-speaking university students learning L2 English. The goal was to corroborate the existence of that in the Korean-English interlanguage such as Who do you think that who lived in the house? by bilingual Basque-Spanish learners (Gutiérrez & Mayo 2008) and Who do you think that he go buy eggs? by Canadian French speakers (Slavkov 2009). The way that is argued to be a remanent copy of the moved wh-word, devoid of the [+WH] feature while preserving phonetic features, and is, pronounced as that, during the syntactic operation of deletion. The experimental data gathered reveal that (1) there are a few but still necessary instances of the way-that which allude that UG can be accessible in the Korean-English interlanguage, and that.(2) Korean L2 leaners can select a linguistic option available in UG but unavailable in their L1 Korean and L2 English. Furthermore, the way-that was found to not be the usual complementizer that, which commonly is placed in the specifier head, since it situates to the left of the wh-word in the specifier position. For the same reason, it was argued that the way-that was not a case of doubly-comp filter violation.
