        This is to investigate the posibility of home manufacturing of heavy chemical industry machines, such as rotary kiln, crusher, blower, cooler, electrostatic precipitator and weighing feeder of cement plant. It is concluded that even though we can not make all of them (some of them are made now and some others are going to be made in the near future, some of them are made whole and some others are made partially), we can build or export the cement plant by importing the important machines which we can not make now and by substituting them with ours gradually.

        만발형 골화석증에 대한 증례보고

        골화석증은 드문 유전성 질환으로서 신체 모든 골에 걸쳐 골밀도가 증가한다.1880년 NEWMAN이 처음 보고하였고,이후 Jacksh가 언급한 바 있으나 1904년 Albers-Schonberg에 의해 체계적으로 보고되었다.골화석증은 그동안 Marmorkmochen, Albers-Schonberg disease,marble bone disease,osteopetrosis fragilis generalosata등으로 불리었다. 골화석증의 원인은 현재로서는 명확히 밝혀지지 않았지만,골조직의 정상적인 흡수작용이 장애를 받아서 상대적으로 골밀도가 증가되어 나타난 것으로 보고 있다. 골화석증은 대개 악성형인 선천형(Osteopetrosis congenita)과 양성형인 만발형(Osteopetrosis tarta)의 두가지 형태로 분류되어지며,최근에는 그 중간형태인 intermediate recessive form이 보고되었다.상염색체성 열성유전되는 선천형인 경우에는 좀 더 증상이 심하며.생후 몇 개월내에 진단된다.상염색체성 열성유전되는 만발형인 경우에는 그 증상이 훨씬 양호하여 자각증상이 거의 없을 수도 있어서 신체 다른 부위에 골절이 있을 때 여러 검사를 하다 보면 비로소 발견되기도 한다.골밀도가 계속 증가함에 따라 골수강이 기능이 저하되어 빈혈등의 혈액병이 생기며,신경주위의 골의 과다성장으로 신경학적 병변이 나타난다.또한 골의 강도가 계속 증가하여 골은 쉽게 골절된다.이러한 골절은 만발형 환자들의 첫번째 증상으로 나타나기도 한다.저자는 치아동요,치아의 조기탈락,맹출지연을 주소로 본원에 내원한 환아로서 골화석증으로 진단되었기에 이에 보고하는 바이다. Osteopetrosis is an uncommon hereditary bone condition characterized by a generalized symmetric increase in skeletal density and abnomalities of bone and resorption remodeling.In 1904,the first case of generalized scalerosis of the skelon was reported by Albers-Schonberg. Osteopetrosis is generalized divided into two main type.The infantile(malignat, congenta)type is the most severe form of the disease;It is characterized by skeletal and hematologic abnomalities.The adult(benign,tarta)type which is usually disgnosed in the third or fourth decade of life is limited predominantly to skeletal anomalies and it carries a more favorable prognosis. The recently recognized intermidiate form with its mild and variable clinical recessive trait.There is no reported gender or racial predilection. The characteristic feature of osteopetrosis which is an abscence of physiologic bone resorption results in accumulation of bone mass and mainfests skeletal disturbance. Dental finding of osteopetrosis includes delayed eruption,congenitally absent teeth,unerupted and malformed teeth,and enamel hypoplasia. Our report involves a patient with a chief complaint of tooth mobility and delayed eruption.After clinical and rediologic examination,this patient was referred to dept.of padiatrics under the suspicion of osteopetrosis and it was confirmed.

      • 신뢰성 있는 멀티캐스트 전송을 위한 RAMP의 구현

        Multicast protoclos are developed in order to support group communications, such as remote multimedia conferencing, distributed applicatons and shared whiteboard systems. Multicast protocols can be divided into two groups, such as network-layer protocols and transport-layer protocols. Recently, transport-layer multicast protocols attracted much attention for guaranteeing reliable end-to-end multicast transmission over the Internet. In this paper, we developed the transport-layer multicast protocols called RAMP(Reliable Adaptive Multicast Protocol) and investigated its performance. In order to incarnate the functions of a sender and a receiver for the RAMP protocol, we developed RAMP package operating on the RMF(Reliable Multicast Framework) using Java language. We also simulated the efficiency of the RAMP for unicast and multicast transmission. We found that the RAMP guarantees reliable and efficient multicast transmission over an unstable network conditions.

      • 만성 간질환 환자에서 Phospholipase A₂활성도

        Background/Purpose : Phospholipase A2 (PLA2) is an rate-limiting enzyme hydrolyzing arachidon-ic acid from the sn-2 position of membrane phospholipids. In vitro studies demonstrated that the enzyme could be secreted into extracellular mileu by pro-inflammatory cytokines and endotoxin which were reported to have important roles in chronic liver diseases. This study was performed to know whether the enzyme is involved in the pathophysiology of the diseases. Methods : The subjects were cumposed of 24 patients with chronic hepatitis B, 26 patients with liver cirrhosis and 14 healthy individuals. The PLA2 activities were measured in the sera of the subjects by detecting radioactivity of 14C-fatty acid hydrolyzed from 14C-labeled phosphotadylethanolamine by the enzy-me. Results : The activities of PLA2 were increased in the patients with chronic liver diseases, especially in the chronic hepatitis B patients with acute exacerbation and in the decompensated cirrhoses patients. Furthermore, their activities were closely realted with the levels of transam-inase in hepatitis group and with the levels of serum albumin in cirrhosis group, respectively. Conclusions : These results suggest that extracellular PLA2 might be involved in the exacerbation and progression of the chronic liver diseases.

      • 결장직장암 환자의 임상적 고찰 : 조선대학교 부속병원의 10년 간의 결과

        Background and Objectives: The colorectal cancer rates 4th in the total cancer prevalence in Korea. The clinical patient demographics were considered with the incidence rate of the colon and rectal cancer. The clinicopathological factors were analyzed for the 5 year survival rate. Materials Methods: Of the 282 patients who were operated from Jan. 1, 1992 to Dec. 31, 2001 and diagnosed by pathological biopsy as colo-rectal cancer, 234 patients were followed up. The age, sex, location of the cancer, TNM stage, operation method, histopathological classification, metastatic region, complications after operation and the survival rate were investigated. Results: Of the 234 patients, male and female consisted of 120 cases (51.3%) and 114 cases (46.7%), with an average age of 61.6 years. The average follow up period was 52.3 months and the peri operative mortality was 5.6%. The site of the cancer was most frequent at the rectum with 127 cases (54.3%). The patients were classified according to the TNM stages with 38 cases of stage 1 (16.2%), 98 cases of II (41.9%), 72 cases of III (30.8%) and 26 cases of IV (11.1%). The 5 year survival rate in the age group older than 50 was 63.3 % and 73.5% in the group younger than 50. In regard to the operation type, the 5 year survival rate was 65.4% for elective operation and 65.8% for emergency operation. The 5 year survival rate for well differentiated, moderately differentiated, poorly differentiated cancer, and mucinous adenocarcinoma was 73.7%, 60.2%, 58.3%, and 92.6%, respectively. The 5 year survival rate of each of the TNM stage is 81.1%, 74.8%, 57.0%, and 11.5% for Classes I, II, III, and IV, respectively. Conclusion: The clinical factors were analyzed for the 5 year survival rate with no statistical significance for the age, sex, and location of the cancer. The TNM stage and histopathological differentiation were statistically significant. The colon cancer showed better prognosis compared to the rectal cancer.

      • 광펌핑된 루비듐 원자의 원형 편광 분광

        반도체 레이저의 주파수를 절대적으로 안정화시키기 위하여 루비듐 원자의 흡수선을 이용하였다. 이를 위해 두 개의 서로 수직인 편광자 안에 류비듐 셀을 설치하고, 광펌핑으로 루비듐 원자에 원형 복굴절을 유도하였다. 반도체 레이저에서 나온 레이저 빔이 이 셀을 통과하여 되먹임 되도록하여 광학적으로 반도체 레이저의 주파수를 안정화 시켰다. Absorption spectrum of Rubidium atoms was utilized to stabilize the oscillation frequency of a semiconductor laser. A Rubidium cell was installed between crossed polarizers and circular birefringence was induced by optical pumping. The frequency of a semiconductor laser was stabilized by optical feedback of transmitted laser beam through the optically pumped cell.

        차세대 고속·지능형 가공시스템의 연구개발 착수 : 산업자원부, 지난해 말부터 韓國機械硏究院을 통한 본격 추진

        산업자원부는 우리나라 공작기계산업의 선진화와 일류화를 위해 중장기적인 기술개발 프로그램을 본격 가동하여 지난해 말부터 향후 5년간 1,2단계로 나누어 약 280억원(정부:160억원 민간:120억원)을 집중 투자 개발하기로 하였다. 본 연구는 한국기계연구원(원장 황해용)의 총괄사업책임자인 박종권 박사 연구팀을 통해 산ㆍ학ㆍ연의 협동체제를 구축하여 개발되는 것으로서 21세기 기술선진국 진입을 위해 고부가가치로 국제경쟁력이 높으면서 전 산업으로의 기술적, 경제적 파급효과가 크고 5년 내외에 실용화 및 상품화가 가능하여 시장성과 직결될 수 있는 과제를 세부개발 목표로 하여 추진하게 된다.

        전자토모그래피의 정량적 분석에서 대물렌즈 조리개의 영향

        Electron tomography의 정량적 분석을 위해서 대물렌즈 조리개가 투과빔의 강도에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. Electron tomography에 도입되는 Beer’s law의 올바른 적용을 위해서는 투과빔은 시료의 기울기에 따른 mass thickness의 변화에 의한 효과만을 반영해야 한다. 그러므로 빔 경로상의 대물렌즈 조리개, 홀더 등에 의한 다른 효과는 제거되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 대물렌즈 조리개의 cut-off 효과를 120 kV TEM과 Quantifoil holey 카본 시료를 이용하여 상세히 평가하였다. 대물렌즈 조리개를 사용하지 않은 경우와 비교할 때, 30 μm 크기의 대물렌즈 조리개를 통과한 투과전자빔의 강도는 약 16.7%의 감소가 일어난다. 또한 55˚이상의 고경사각 기울기에서는 대물렌즈 조리개의 cut-off 효과에 의해 14.2%의 강도 감소가 추가적으로 발생함을 알 수 있었다. Electron tomography에서 정량적 분석을 위해서는 이러한 대물렌즈 조리개의 영향을 고려해야만 한다. 또한 Beer’s law의 올바른 적용을 위해서는 일련의 기울기에 따른 2차원적 영상은 가능하면 대물렌즈 조리개를 사용하지 않은 상태에서 획득하는 것이 바람직하다. We have evaluated the effects of experimental factors on transmitted electron beam intensities for quantitative analysis in electron tomography. For the correct application of Beer’s law in electron tomography, the transmitted beam intensity should reflect the net effect of mass properties on beam path. So, the any other effects of the objective aperture and the specimen holder on beam path should be removed. The cut-off effects of objective aperture were examined using Quantifoil holey carbon film and a transmission electron microscope operated at 120 kV. The transmitted beam intensities with 30 μm objective aperture dropped about 16.7% compared to electron beam intensities without the objective aperture. Also, the additional losses of about 14.2% at high tilt angles were occurred by cut-off effects of the objective apertures. For the precise quantitative analysis in electron tomography, the effect of the objective aperture on transmitted electron beam intensities should be considered. It is desirable that 2-D tilt series images are obtained without the objective aperture for correct application of Bee’s law.

      • EGR 쿨러의 전열 특성에 관한 이론 및 수치해석

        EGR system reduces the NOx as the mixed gas included in the recirculated exhaust gas decreases combustion temperature. The temperature of recirculated exhaust gas is controlled with the EGR cooler in the EGR system. In this study, we studied cooling effect of the EGR cooler with different a cross-section shapes of tubes and the number of tubes. The results show that the cross-section shapes of tubes and the number of tubes slightly influence the temperature drop of the recirculated exhaust gas.
