        Preparation of petroleum impregnating pitches from pyrolysis fuel oil using two‑step heat treatments

        Petroleum-based impregnating pitches were prepared from pyrolysis fuel oil (PFO) using a two-step heat treatment without a separation process. The pressurized heat treatment, the first step, was used to improve the properties of the pitches and enhance the product yield by promoting the cracking and polymerization of the components in the PFO. An atmospheric heat treatment as the second step was used only to synthesize the impregnating pitches from the liquid pitches prepared during the first step. The prepared impregnating pitches had the properties of a commercial petroleum-based impregnating pitch. The impregnation performance was evaluated by HT-XRD and an impregnation test. The HT-XRD results showed changes in the stacked structure of the pitches at the impregnation temperature. The bulk density of the carbon block was increased to 14.3% and the porosity was reduced by 10.3% after the impregnation/recarbonization process. The high reaction temperature during the first step induced the formation of quinoline insoluble (QI) components during the second step of the treatment, and the QI components adversely affected the impregnation process.

        도시 뒷골목의 ‘장소 기억’ : 종로 피맛골의 사례

        피맛길은 서울 종로의 이면 도로로서 조선전기에 기원한 600여 년의 역사를 가진 골목길이다. 이 연구는 피맛길을 중심축으로 발달한 피맛골을 현대 도시의 대표적인 ‘뒷골목’중 하나로 정의한 다음, 이곳의 역사지리를 통해 그 기원과 경관을 추적하고 장소 기억이라는 개념을 동원하여 피맛골의 장소성을 사회문화지리적 관점에서 해석하였다. 이 과정에서 피맛골의 장소성을 세 가지 층위에서 추출하여 병치할 수 있었는데, ‘서발턴의 공간 vs. 탈주의공간’, ‘망각의 공간 vs. 회상과 생성의 공간’, ‘화석의 공간 vs. 삶의 공간’으로 각각 명명하고 서술하였다. 연구자는 이들의 검토를 통해 ‘앞길’ 종로의 뒤안길이었던 이곳에서 퇴적된 중층적 장소 기억들과 피맛골을 둘러싼 이들 간 경합 관계를 고찰하였고, 이를 토대로 현대 도시가 지닌 공간성의 또 다른 일면을 구성해 낼 수 있다고 주장하였다. Pimat-gil is a bystreet over 600-years old of Jong-no in Seoul that originated in the early Joseon Dynasty. This Study defines Pimat-gol (a street village) that has developed centering around Pimat-gil (alley) as a typical backlane of modern city, traces the origin and landscapes of Pimat-gol through the historical geographies of this place, and tries to name and interpret the placeness of Pimat-gol from the angles of social and cultural geography, particularly on the basis of the concept ‘place memory’. As a result, the author extracts the placeness of Pimat-gol in terms of juxtaposition of three-fold layers, ie., ‘space of subaltern vs. space of escape’, ‘space of oblivion vs. space of recollecttion and generation’, and ‘space of fossil vs. space of living’. In addition, the author examines the place memories which have been sedimented in this place and the contest of the place-memories by investigating these three-fold layers, and makes a proposal which would constructs another spatiality of modern city on the basis of this case.

        전남지역 일부 대학생 모발 중 수은 농도에 관한 연구

        This study analysed the mercury concentration in the hair of 62 students (male : 21, female : 41) of D university in Najusi, Jeon-Nam area. Also, questionnaire, which developed by NIES, were completed by the students. According to the questionnaire, most of the students had a higher intake of meat than that of fish. Also, among the students, there were many smokes and many had dental treatment with amalgam. Based on the gender, female showed 1.024 ${\mu}g/g$ and male showed 0.882 ${\mu}g/g$ of the mercury concentration. This means that female students had higher level of mercury in their hair, but it was not a significant statistic difference. Comparing by the intake frequency of meat, processed food stuffs, protein foods, it shows the more they at the higher mercury concentration was observed. According to the intake frequency of fish, when the number of times they intake increased, the mercury concentration was higher. Under one time was 0.857 ${\mu}g/g$ and twice or more times were 1.152 ${\mu}g/g$, which showed a significant statistical difference (p<0.05). Depending on the Life style, the mercury concentration in the hair was high with workout, outdoor activities, and direct smoking. The mercury concentration in the hair showed no difference for whether they received amalgam treatment but the personal dietary habit and the Living condition affects strongly on the mercury concentration level.

        To evaluate the prognosis of primary pontine hemorrhage and its related factors the clinical and radiological features of 26 patients were analyzed. The features of survival group (9 cases) and non-survival group (17 cases) were not different in age and sex distribution. Univariately significant factors suggesting poor prognosis were as follows: 1) Lower level of consciousness at the first evaluation 2) breathing abnormalities suggesting brainstem dysfunctions 3) high systolic blood pressure 4) size of hematoma across the midine of the pons and 6) associated ventricular dilatation.

        Thymoma is associated with myasthenia gravis, Pure red cell aplasia, and autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, and hypogammaglobulinemia. It's association with aplastic anemia is rare and aplastic anemia appearing after surgical removal of thymoma is especially rare. The authors hereby report a case of aplastic anemia occuring in a patient who was diagnosed with thymoma and myasthenia gravis and had the tumor surgically removed. The patient was treated with anti-thymocyte globulin, cyclosporin, and prednisolone, and showed partial remission with hematologic improvements after 12 months.

        This paper analyses an architecture of network-based control system and deals with its application using the CAN protocol. It is difficult to determine an optimal network architecture for a specific system. In this paper, we propose the architecture of network-based control system applicable to a specific AGV system with manipulator arms. The fixed number of periodic messages to be occurred in pre-defined in this system. These messages are scheduled by applying the DMS algorithm. To determine whether the proposed system architecture is effective or not, we perform traffic analysis for the real-time communication of all messages. Through simulation, the possible maximum transmission speed is found and the number of possible sensors to be added is investigated for improving the system performance, when the sampling period of an analog sensor is determined under fixed condition that transmission speed is over 500Kbits/sec.

        Iron-containing liposome was developed as food additive and the ferrous sulfate and the hemin were used as iron-donor materials. This liposomal food additive contains the hemin and α-tocopherol in the hydrophobic region of the liposome, and the ferrous sulfate and ascorbic acid in the internal aqueous region. Because the hemin has more uptake efficiency than ferrous sulfate, the use of hemin is very meaningful. Also, we obtained basic results about lipid oxidation in liposome according to Iipid/[iron-donor material] molar ratios. It was observed that ascorbic acid have no effect on the lipid oxidation in liposome by hemin, but stimulate the lipid oxidation by ferrous sulfate and inhibit autoxidation of ferrous sulfate. Moreover, a -tocopherol inhibit very effectively the lipid oxidation in liposome containing hemin or the ferrous sulfate and ascorbic acid, respectively. Encapsulation efficiency of ferrous sulfate by multilamellar liposome was 2.5%.

      • 노인의 운동유형에 따른 혈관탄성과 혈압의 반응

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the response of Vascular Compliance and blood pressure on aerobic, muscular endurance, stretching exercise and to ascertain the best effects of exercise for improve vascular health in the Elderly men, The subjects were 20 old men, I measured blood pressure and vascular compliance pre and post exercise. For the data, all the measurement were represented by mean(M) and standard deviation(SD) using SPSS package(version 10.0). Statistical techniques for data analysis were paired t-test to determine the difference in pre-post data into group and were one-way ANOVA to determine the rank between group, The Conclusions of this study were as follows; 1. The vascular compliance(p<.01) and blood pressure(p<.05) showed significant differences between pre and post exercise in aerobic exercise groups, 2, The vascular compliance(p<.000) and blood pressure(p<.01) showed significant differences between pre and post exercise in muscular endurance exercise. 3. The vascular compliance(p<.000) and the systolic blood(p<.01) showed significant differences between pre and post exercise in stretching exercise, But diastolic blood pressure showed no significant(p<.437) differences between pre and post exercise. 4. The vascular compliance showed significant(p<.05) only left ankle which differences in order of muscular endurance, stretching, aerobic post-exercise between group. The systolic blood pressure showed significant(p<.001) which differences in order of aerobic, muscular endurance, stretching and the diastolic blood pressure showed significant(p<.01) which differences in order of muscular endurance, aerobic, stretching past-exercise between group.

        키토산 처리포의 소목 천연염색에 대한 연구 (Ⅰ)

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of applying the chitosan for a natural modant. The chitosan, a natural chelate macromolecule, is acquired from the crustacean. Investigation was focused on the change of the dyeability according to the chitosan treatment based on the Caesalping sappan and the color change of the dyed fabric according to the application of heavy metal mordant. The change of air permeability of the fabric with the dyeing was also investigated systematically. The effect of dyeing with/without mordant on the air permeability of the fabric after the chitosan treatment. It seems that increase in the dye-uptake is attributable to the fact that chitosan forms a complex with the Caesalpinia sappan and Al during mordant dyeing of cotton fabric. For nylon fabric, the darkest color was achieved on the occasion of non-mordant dyeing of the fabric. The mordant treatment or chitosan treatment, however, reduced the dyeability. While the dyed nylon fabric could maintain the same air permeability as the grey nylon fabric, the cotton fabric lowered the air permeability after dyeing.
