V-groove을 이용한 광파이버 결합 특성에 관한 연구

In this paper, an optical connection method for the application of subscriber loop and for the realization of FTTH(fiber to the home)is developed. Loss values of possible factors affecting connection loss are evaluated. Practical experimental values are measured for the case of factors. For connection of optical fiber, V-groove is fabricated with different widths and four types by photo-lithography method. Connection loss and refraction loss are measured by alignment to optical fiber on fabricated V-groove. It's compared with measurements by using index matching oil. With the result that measured average connection loss of 0.12dB. and average refraction loss of -45dB expected to application of subscriber optical cable loop. By designed and fabricated with different widths, this connection method can aligned and fixed optical fibers at the same time and compensated to loss values of possible factors.

Recently, several large chemical accidents took place in many countries. Therefore, many countries strengthened the regulation related to management of chemical safety. In case of our country, about 500 chemical accidents took place for the past decay. The preparation and response system for chemical accidents is a most important element for management of chemical safety. In this study, we analyze the preparation and response system for chemical accidents described in several regulations of our country, and suggest a more appropriate management system for chemical safety. Accident report documents vary among the Toxic Chemical Control Law, the Fire Services Law and the Industrial Safety and Health Law. In case of the Fire Services Law, there is not a concrete description about the source chemical of accident. The response authority for chemical accident is dualistic. Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs is responsible for emergent rescue, on the other hand, ministers of central administrative branches are in charge of reconstruction of chemical accident. Therefore these dualistic system make confuse in response to a large chemical accident.

Classification and Labelling system of Chemicals is a very important element for management of chemical safety. Classification and labelling system of Chemicals is very different among countries. This becomes a barrier for transportation of chemicals across counties. Recently, several international organizations (OECD,UNEP,ILO etc.) endeavor to harmonize classification and labelling of chemicals. In this study, we analyze classification and labelling system of chemical described in several regulations of our country, and examine acivities of IOMC(Inter-Organization Programme for the Sound Management of Chemicals)for harmonization of classification and labelling of chemicals. The Toxic Chemical Control Law, the Fire Services Law and the Industrial Safety and Health Law are the major regulation of management of chemical safety. Classification and labelling systems of chemical vary among several regulations. Particularly, labelling system of chemicals in transport vehicles are not appropriate in response to chemical accident. We suggest that task force team consisted with inter-administrative branches is needed to harmonize classification and labelling of chemicals, and recommend the introduction of UN number in labelling systems of chemicals in transport vehicles.

In this paper, we propose a WDM slotted ring network, in which each node is equipped with a fixed receiver, a tunable transmitter, a tunable receiver, and a buffer. We investigated the effect of buffer size on the performance for the network and found out that proper selection of queue size could drastically reduce the delay of network.

In this paper, we propose an optical true time-delay (TTD) feeder system for phased array antennas (PAAs), which consists of a fixed wavelength laser diode, 2×2 MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical System) switches, and fiber delay lines. A 3-bit TTD for 10 ㎓ PAAs with two antenna elements has been implemented and the time delay difference between the antenna elements has been measured for all the possible beam radiation angles according to the combination of MEMS switches setup. Experimental results are in excellent agreement with calculated ones.
실시간 지연선로를 사용한 위상배열 안테나의 지향성 향상에 관한 연구

In this paper, We proposed a novel true time-delay(TTD) for phased array antennas(PAAs) using fiber Bragg gratings(FBGs) and metal films deposited on fiber ends. This structure requires fewer number of FBGs and provides relaxed wavelengh selection than the previous TTDs using only FBGs. A 10 ㎓ PAA system with the proposed TTD has been fabricated to show that the measured time delay difference for each steering angle is less than ±1ps compared with the calculated one. Dolph-Tschebyscheff array method was used to improve the directivity for a 10 ㎓, four element PAA incorporating the proposed TTD. Simulation results showed that the ratio of the main lobe to the first side lode for the case of Dolph-Tschebyscheff array is 16.2 dB greater than that for the case of uniform array.

Fiber Bragg grating(FBG) has become a key passive device for applications in fiber-optic communications. It also has a great potential in a wide range of sensing applications for the measurement of strain, temperature, pressure, etc. In this paper, we report experimental results on a temperature/strain sensor composed of a bare FBG and a solder-clad FBG connected in cascade. Since the Bragg wavelength of the solder-clad FBG does not change with strain and its sensitivity is four times as large as that of the bare FBG up to 110℃, it was used to measure temperature. On the other hand, strain information was obtained from the reflection wavelength difference between the two FBGs.
초 광대역 광 증폭기용 광역 파장 필터 개발에 관한 연구

We present the simulation results of the S-band(1480-1520nm) and M-band(1530-1570nm) filters for ultra-broadband optical amplifiers. The bandpass filters are multi-layer dielectric films directly deposited on the fiber end-face. Transmittance spectra are obtained with the characteristic matrix method. In the design, the total number of film layers is 35 and the half wavelength thickness is used at the 6th, 18th, and 30th layers for both filters. Simulation results show that the 3-dB bandwidth and the maximum ripple of the S-band filter are 35.8nm and 0.13dB, and those of the M-band filter are 37.1nm and 0.13dB, respectively.

Primary intracranial fibrosarcomas (PIFs) are extremely rare and the origin of these tumors is still controversial. The rarity of primary intracranial fibrosarcomas makes it difficult to diagnose them correctly and establish a standard treatment. The pathologic diagnosis is made by distinguishing findings from light microscopic and immunohistochemistry analysis. PIFs have been known to be very aggressive neoplasms. The extra-axial location of the tumor could provide an opportunity to perform a total resection even if it does not mean a cure. We present a case of PIFs mimicking a falx meningioma in a 17-yearold man.
