Counters for various kinds of bank notes require high-speed distinctive point extraction and recognition for notes. In this paper we propose a new point extraction and data extraction method from specific parts of a bank note representing the same color. The recognition algorithm uses a back-propagation neural network that has coordinate data input. The proposed algorithm is designed to minimize recognition time.

Abstract Initial fluxes of organic acids through a sulfonated polystyrene-divinylbenzene copolymer membrane (K-102, Asahi Kasei) were investigated by varying pH and initial concentration. In case of carboxylic acid such as formic acid and acetic acid, fluxes were higher when pH was lower than pKa and in case of amino acid such as L-alanine, flux was minimum when pH was isoelectic value. Initial fluxes have been found to vary in the range of 10-8-10-6mol/cm2 ㆍ s, depending on the kind of the acids, pH and initial concentrations. The relation between initial fluxes and initial concentrations has been expressed by Michaelis-Menten equation. For L-alanine when pH is 4.5, saturation constant, Km is 1.32 mol/L and maximum initial flux, Vmax is 2.31 mol/cm2 ㆍs

본 연구에서는 단재하경로 구조로 인식되는 강합성 플레이트 2-거더교의 여유도 평가를 위한 해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 여유도 평가는 3 경간 연속교를 대상으로 수직브레이성은 I-단면 가로보로 적용하고 하부 수평브레이싱은 설치된 경우와 설치되지 않은 경우로 구분하였다. 그리고l 정상 교량 및 한 개 거더에 심각한 손상을 가정한 손상 교량에 대해 하부 수평브레이싱의 설치 유 · 무에 따른 내하 성능을 재료 및 기하비선형 해석으로부터 결정하고 각 경우의 여유도를 비교 평가하였다.

The transport characteristics of alkali metal ions, ?? and ??, through a cation exchange membrane was investigated. The membrane used in this experiment was ?? type sulfonated polystyrene-co-divinylbenzene membrane (K-102, Asahi Kasei Co.). The initial flux of the ion was increased with the increase of both ?? ion concentration and temperature. In this experimental range (pH 0.5∼3.0, temperature 15∼60℃), the initial flux of ?? was found to be from ?? to ?? and that of ?? from ??, ??. The membrane was selective for ?? and the flux ratio of ?? to ?? was about 1.10.

To investigate the relationship between premenstrual mood changes and anxiety, and mood symptoms in the perinatal period , questionaire survey was carried out. There was no significant correlation between premenstrual symptom scale value and Edinburgh postpartum depression scale value. And theme was no relationship between premenstrual symptom scale value and state anxiety inventory scale value in the perinatal period. This findings suggest that premenstrual mood changes are not directly correlated with mood changes in the perinatal period.
술폰화 폴리스티렌-디비닐벤젠 혼성중합막의 제조와 특성에 관한 연구

Sulfonated polystyrene-divinylbenzene (PS-DVB) copolymer membranes were prepared using different diluents and varying diluent volume and DVB contents. All membranes were reinforced with Teviron (PVC) cloth. Three different diluents (toluene, cyclohexane, cyclohexanol) were used in the polymerization system. The membranes have been characterized by their swelling ratio, water content, ion-exchange capacity and mechanical strength. The volume as well as kind of diluents, and DVB content influenced these properties. As a result, water content and ion-exchange capacity decreased with increasing DVB concentration. Among diluents, cyclohexanol was the most efficient for building up the highest water content and ion-exchange capacity.

The transport characteristics of electrolyte osmosis through the perfluorinated cation exchange membrane, Nafion NX-430, was inverstigated. The order of electrolyte permeation velocities of single valent ions was:??>??>??>??. At constant concentration ratio the electrolyte fluxes have shown maximum and minimum values with respect to electrolyte concentration, which is called anomalus osmosis. The correlations between potassium ion fluxes and concentration ratios was shown as follows. ?? The effective charge density calclated from membrane potential was 1% of the fixed charge concentration.
Electron Transmission Through Coupled Quantum Dots in an Aharonov-Bohm Ring

Stimulated by recent intriguing experiments with a quantum dot in an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) ring, we investigate novel resonant phenomena by studying the total transmission probability of nanoscale AB ring with embedded double quantum dots in one arm and a magnetic °ux passing through the rings' center. In this system, we show an overlapping and merging of Fano resonances as the interaction parameter between the dots changes. In the strong overlapping region of Fano resonances, the transmission zeros leave the real-energy axis and move away in opposite directions in the complex-energy plane. The behavior of the Fano zero-pole resonances in the complex-energy plane as a function of the external magnetic °ux is also investigated for various coupling integrals between the quantum dots in the ring.
Rapid Mapping of Active Site of KSI by Paramagnetic NMR

Active site mapping has been done for ${\Delta}^5$-3-ketosteroid isomerase (KSI) by analyses of paramagnetic effect on $^1H-^{15}N$ HSQC spectra using 4-hydroxyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl-1-oxy (HyTEMPO) and an intermediate analog (equilenin). Our result revealed that residues in hydrophobic cavity of KSI, particularly active site region, mainly experienced a high line-broadening effect of NMR signal with HyTEMPO, while they experienced full recovery of a lineshape upon the addition of equilenin. The mapped region was very similar to the active site of KSI as described by the crystal structure. These observations indicate that a combined use of paramagnetic reagent and substrate (or analog) could rapidly identify the residues in potential active site of KSI, and can be applied to the analysis of both active site and function in unknown protein.
