A comparative study on different walking load models

Jinping Wang,Jun Chen 국제구조공학회 2017 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.63 No.6

Excessive vibrations can occur in long-span structures such as floors or footbridges due to occupant‟s daily activity like walking and cause a so-called vibration serviceability issue. Since 1970s, researchers have proposed many human walking load models, and some of them have even been adopted by major design guidelines. Despite their wide applications in structural vibration serviceability problems, differences between these models in predicting structural responses are not clear. This paper collects 19 popular walking load models and compares their effects on structure‟s responses when subjected to the human walking loads. Model parameters are first compared among all these models including orders of components, dynamic load factors, phase angles and function forms. The responses of a single-degree-of-freedom system with various natural frequencies to the 19 load models are then calculated and compared in terms of peak values and root mean square values. Case studies on simulated structures and an existing long-span floor are further presented. Comparisons between predicted responses, guideline requirements and field measurements are conducted. All the results demonstrate that the differences among all the models are significant, indicating that in a practical design, choosing a proper walking load model is crucial for the structure‟s vibration serviceability assessment.

The significance of intertumor and intratumor heterogeneity in liver cancer

Jinping Liu,Hien Dang,Xin Wei Wang 생화학분자생물학회 2018 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.50 No.-

Genomic analyses of primary liver cancer samples reveal a complex mutational landscape with vast intertumor and intratumor heterogeneity. Different primary liver tumors and subclones within each tumor display striking molecular and biological variations. Consequently, tumor molecular heterogeneity contributes to drug resistance and tumor relapse following therapy, which poses a substantial obstruction to improving outcomes of patients with liver cancer. There is an urgent need to the compositional and functional understanding of tumor heterogeneity. In this review, we summarize genomic and non-genomic diversities, which include stemness and microenvironmental causes of the functional heterogeneity of the primary liver cancer ecosystem. We discuss the importance and intricacy of intratumor heterogeneity in the context of cancer cell evolution. We also discuss methodologies applicable to determine intratumor heterogeneity and highlight the best-fit patient-derived in vivo and in vitro models to recapture the functional heterogeneity of primary liver cancer with the aim to improve future therapeutic strategies.

Molecular Characterization and Expression Analysis of GhWRI1 in Upland Cotton

        Jinping Hua,Yanpeng Zhao,Zhengjie Liu,Xinwang Wang,Yumei Wang 한국식물학회 2018 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.61 No.4

Numerous genes were involved in oil metabolism, transcription factors are the key genes, such as WRINKLED(AtWRI1, At3g54320) in Arabidopsis. A homolog of AtWRI1,GhWRI1 (accession number: JF430801), was cloned in presentstudy. Promoter activity analyses revealed that activityelements were existed in the upstream of GhWRI1 initiationcodon between -912 ~ -720 bp and -372 ~ -177 bp regions. The putative transcriptional activity domain was localized inthe C-terminal of GhWRI1 protein. GhWRI1 was moreabundant in high oil content materials and elevated expressionwith cottonseed development, suggesting the crucial role inseed oil accumulation. Meanwhile, expression level of GhWRI1was induced under multiple abiotic stresses, suggesting thatGhWRI1 might participate in cotton responding to stresses. Overexpression of GhWRI1 increased seed oil content andseed weight in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana. In transgenicplants, genes downstream of AtWRI1, such as enoyl-ACPreductase (AtEAR, At2g05990), pyruvate kinases (AtPKp2,At5g52920), and pyruvate dehydrogenase subunit (AtPDHE1α,At1g01090) were up-regulated expression two to five timescompared with the wild-type. The results suggested that GhWRI1could be used in regulating oil accumulation in cottonseeds.

Reference State Tracking in Distributed Leader-Following Wireless Sensor Networks with Limited Errors

Jinping Mou,Jie Wang 한국통신학회 2015 Journal of communications and networks Vol.17 No.6

In this paper, the limited error tracking problem is investigated for distributed leader-following wireless sensor networks (LFWSNs), where all sensors share data by the local communications, follower sensors are influenced by leader sensors directly or indirectly, but not vice versa, all sensor nodes track a reference state that is determined by the states of all leader sensors, and tracking errors are limited. In a LFWSN, the communicating graph is mainly expressed by some complete subgraphs; if we fix subgraphs that are composed of all leaders while all nodes in complete subgraphs of followers run on the sleeping-awaking method, then the fixed leaders and varying followers topology is obtained, and the switching topology is expressed by a Markov chain. It is supposed that the measurements of all sensors are corrupted by additive noises. Accordingly, the limited error tracking protocol is proposed. Based on the theory of asymptotic boundedness in mean square, it is shown that LFWSN keeps the limited error tracking under the designed protocol.

      • Modified Pulse Train Control Technique for Switching DC-DC Converters

        Jinping Wang,Jianping Xu,Yu Gao,Yanni Lan 전력전자학회 2011 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2011 No.5

Modified pulse train (MPT) control technique for switching dc-dc converter operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM) is proposed and studied in this paper. By using MPT control technique, much faster transient response than that of pulse train (PT) controlled switching dcdc converter can be obtained, which is verified by experimental results.

      • Hierarchical Data Gathering Scheme for Energy Efficient Wireless Sensor Network

Jinping Chen,Zinan Chang 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.9 No.3

Compressive Data Gathering (CDG) has recently emerged to provide energy efficient data aggregation in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Existing CDG is done by forming a span-tree from all sensors to the data sink, which leads to a lot of energy consumption in maintain this tree. In this paper, we present a clustering based CDG scheme for large-scale WSNs. This scheme reduces traditional network communication cost by introducing in-network compression and recovers sensory data accurately by using compress sensing theory. With extensive simulation, we demonstrate that our scheme prolongs nearly 45% network’s lifetime compared with the Hybrid compressive data gathering schemes.

Exploring effects of different male parent crossings on sheep muscles and related regulatory genes using mRNA-Seq

        Shi Jinping,Zhang Quanwei,Song Yali,Lei Zhaomin,Fu Lingjuan,Cheng Shuru 아세아·태평양축산학회 2022 Animal Bioscience Vol.35 No.8

Objective: With improvements in living standards and increase in global population, the demand for meat products has been increasing; improved meat production from livestock could effectively meet this demand. In this study, we examined the differences in the muscle traits of different male crossbred sheep and attempted to identify key genes that regulate these traits. Methods: Dubo sheep×small-tailed Han sheep (DP×STH) and Suffolk×small-tailed Han sheep (SFK×STH) were selected to determine meat quality and production performance by Masson staining. Transcriptome sequencing and bioinformatic analysis were performed to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) related to meat quality. The presence of DEGs was confirmed by real-time polymerase chain reaction. Results: The production performance of SFK×STH sheep was better than that of DP×STH sheep, but the meat quality of DP×STH sheep was better than that of SFK×STH sheep. The muscle fiber diameter of DP×STH sheep was smaller than that of SFK×STH sheep. Twentytwo DEGs were identified. Among them, four gene ontology terms were related to muscle traits, and three DEGs were related to muscle or muscle fibers. There were no significant differences in the number of single nucleotide mutations and mutation sites in the different male parent cross combinations. Conclusion: This study provides genetic resources for future sheep muscle development and cross-breeding research.
