        A Percolation based M2M Networking Architecture for Data Transmission and Routing

        We propose a percolation based M2M networking architecture and its data transmission method. The proposed network architecture can be server-free and router-free, which allows us to operate routing efficiently with percolations based on six degrees of separation theory in small world network modeling. The data transmission can be divided into two phases: routing and data transmission phases. In the routing phase, probe packets will be transmitted and forwarded in the network thus multiple paths are selected and performed based on the constriction of the maximum hop number. In the second phase, the information will be encoded, say, with the fountain codes, and transmitted using the paths generated in the first phase. In such a way, an efficient routing and data transmission mechanism can be built, which allow us to construct a low-cost, flexible and ubiquitous network. Such a networking architecture and data transmission can be used in many M2M communications, such as the stub network of internet of things, and deep space networking, and so on.

        Competing for global story market: the case from China’s film industry

        경제 및 문화를 중심으로 하는 세계화 시대에 국제 영화 시장은 경쟁이 점차 치열해지고 있다. 글로벌 영화의 경쟁은 본질적으로 글로벌 스토리 마켓에 대한 경쟁이며, 이는 전통적인 상품 거래와는 매우 다른 특징을 가지고 있다. 앞으로 중국은 세계 최대 영화 시장으로 성장해서 결국 미국을 추월할 것이지만, 세계 영화산업 진출 능력은 여전히 미약하다. 이 논문의 주요 목표는 산업적인 관점에서 앞서 언급한 이유를 탐색하고 분석하여 전 세계로 진출하는 중국 영화의 국제영화 시장에서 산업적 능력을 개선하기 위한 것이다. 설계/방법론/접근법 측면에서 이 연구는 기초 이론과 사례 연구를 분석 도구로 사용하고 있다. 우리는 IMDB 및 Rotten Tomatoes의 웹 사이트에서 ‘Wolf Warrior 2’에 대한 미국 관객의 리뷰를 사례를 코딩하고 분석하고 있다. 연구 결과 영화 관객과 비평가의 독창적인 리뷰를 주의 깊게 살펴보고, 개념화하고, 분류함으로써 중국 영화가 세계 영화 시장에서 성공하지 못하고 있는 주요 세 가지 요인을 제시하고 있다. 결론적으로 본 연구를 통한 분석 결과는 특정 문화 상품으로서 영화제작에 대한 이해를 강조하게 된다. 또한 이 논문은 앞서 언급한 세 가지 성공 요인의 모델을 제시했는데, 이는 글로벌 스토리 시장에서 경쟁하기 위해 필요한 요소라고 할 수 있다. In the era of economic and cultural globalization, the international film market has been becoming highly competitive. The competition of global films is essentially the competition for global story market, which has quite different features from conventional commodity trade. Although China will overtake the U.S. as world’s largest film market, its ability to go global has remained very weak. The primary aim of the paper is to explore and analyze the reasons, from product perspective, affecting China’s films going global and try to find a solution for improving its performance in international market. Design/methodology/approach This study uses grounded theory and case study as the analysis tools. we select the reviews of U.S audiences to ‘wolf-warrior2’ on the websites of IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes as our cases and code and analyze the case by grounded theory method. Findings Through carefully screening, conceptualizing and categorizing the original reviews of film audiences and critics, the paper finds that there are three key factors deciding whether a film is welcomed in global film market, which can explain why China’s films were not welcomed in global market. Practical implications Firstly, the analysis deepens the understanding of film product, as a specific cultural product and enriches the traditional marketing theory. Secondly, the paper puts forward a model of three success factors, which is beneficial for globally-oriented films to competing in global story market.

        『韓詩外傳』文本邏輯關係新論

        Han Ying's "Han shi wai zhuan(韓詩外傳)" is an ‘New text studies(今文學)’ mastication in the Han Dynasty. It shows its own value in stylistic form and the study of Confucian classics. Putting aside the discussion on the degree of the relationship between the text and the "The Book of Songs", returning to the logic of the internal relationship construction of the text of the study, paying attention to the text style of "Wai zhuan(外傳)"; paying attention to the tradition of the Han dynasty from "using study of Confucian classics" to "Serve to the study of Confucian classics" The transformation; exploring the logical relationship and practical strategy of textual relationship construction provides a valuable reference for the evaluation of value and meaning in the history of the Confucian classics.

        The Cholesky rank-one update/downdate algorithm for static reanalysis with modifications of support constraints

        Structural reanalysis is frequently utilized to reduce the computational cost so that the process of design or optimization can be accelerated. The supports can be regarded as the design variables and may be modified in various types of structural optimization problems. The location, number, and type of supports can make a great impact on the performance of the structure. This paper presents a unified method for structural static reanalysis with imposition or relaxation of some support constraints. The information from the initial analysis has been fully utilized and the computational time can be significantly reduced. Numerical examples are used to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

        Parametric study of an undulating plate in a power-extraction regim

        Our previous studies suggest that instead of propulsion, a body undergoing lateral traveling-wave-like motions can also work like a kinetic energy harvester which extracts energy from moving fluids including wind and water currents. Parameters including wavelength, dimensionless wave velocity and amplitude have critical effects on the energy extraction efficiencies of this type of undulating foil energy harvester. In this paper, a two-dimensional, numerical simulation of a flexible plate undergoing a traveling wave motion was then conducted. At a given dimensionless wave speed, it is found that there exits an optimum wavelength at which this type of energy harvester can extract the maximum amount of kinematic energy from the flow. Moreover, the optimum value of the wavelength increases as amplitude increases. A high efficiency area appears under the optimal combination of wavelength and amplitude. At a given amplitude, the optimal dimensionless wave speed for maximum power extraction decreases with increasing wavelength. The high efficiency area of the undulating plate resulting from the optimal combination of wavelength and wave speed is identified. At a given wave length, there is an optimal value of amplitude at which the maximum energy extraction can be achieved. In this case, a high efficiency area representing the optimal combination of amplitude and wave speed has also been discovered.

        An Efficient Algorithm for Performance Analysis of Multi-cell and Multi-user Wireless Communication Systems

        Theoretical Bit Error Rate (BER) and channel capacity analysis are always of great interest to the designers of wireless communication systems. At the center of such analyses people are often encountered with a high-dimensional multiple integrals with quite complex integrands. Conventional Gaussian quadrature is inefficient in handling problems like this, as it tends to entail tremendous computational overhead, and the principal order of its error term increase rapidly with the dimension of the integral. In this paper, we propose a new approach to calculate complex multi-fold integrals based on the number theory. In contrast to Gaussian quadrature, the proposed approach requires less computational effort, and the principal order of its error term is independent of the dimension. The effectiveness of the number theory based approach is examined in BER and capacity analyses for practical systems. In particular, the results generated by numerical computation turn out in good match with that of Monte-Carlo simulations.

        KLK6 Promotes Growth, Migration, and Invasion of Gastric Cancer Cells

        Purpose: Kallikrein (KLK) proteases are hormone-like signaling molecules with critical functions in different cancers. This study investigated the expression of KLK6 in gastric cancer and its potential role in the growth, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer cells. Materials and Methods: In this study, we compared protein levels of KLK6, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and matrix metallopeptidase (MMP) 9 in normal gastric epithelial and gastric cancer cell lines by western blot. Fluorescence-activated cell sorting was employed to sort 2 clones of SGC-7901 cells with distinct KLK6 expression, namely, KLK6-high (KLK6high) and KLK6-low (KLK6low), which were then expanded. Lastly, immunohistochemical analysis was performed to investigate KLK6 expression in gastric cancer patients. Results: The expression levels of KLK6, VEGF, and MMP 9, were significantly higher in the gastric cancer cell lines SGC-7901, BGC-823, MKN-28, and MGC-803 than in the normal gastric epithelial cell line GES-1. Compared to KLK6low cells, KLK6high cells showed enhanced viability, colony-forming ability, migration, and invasion potential in vitro. Importantly, immunohistochemical analysis of a human gastric cancer tissue cohort revealed that the staining for KLK6, VEGF, and MMP9 was markedly stronger in the cancerous tissues than in the adjacent normal tissues. KLK6 expression also correlated with that of VEGF and MMP9 expression, as well as several key clinicopathological parameters. Conclusions: Together, these results suggest an important role for KLK6 in human gastric cancer progression.

        Adsorption mechanism of lead ions at ilmenite/water interface and its influence on ilmenite flotability

        In order to get further understanding of lead ions adsorption onto ilmenite surface, zeta potential analysis, adsorption density calculation, FT-IR and XPS analysis were employed. The results showed that the adsorption of lead ions onto ilmenite surface was a chemically dominating process. Lead species could interact with iron-hydroxyl complex compounds to form a Fe–O–Pb complex. The hydrophobic complex of Pb(OL)2 was also observed. Iron and adsorbed lead ions on ilmenite surface served as the main active-sites via chemisorption with oleate species. Introducing lead ions, as a surface modification means, can efficiently improve ilmenite flotability.

        Effects of Ga Content on Dynamic Recrystallization and Mechanical Properties of High Strain Rate Rolled Mg–Ga Alloys

        The Mg–xGa (x = 1, 2, 3 and 5 in mass%) alloys are subjected to high strain rate rolling (HSRR) at 275 °C with the rollingstrain rate of 9.1 s−1 to develop high performance Mg alloy sheets with high plasticity. Effects of Ga content on microstructureand mechanical properties of the Mg–Ga alloys are investigated by SEM, XRD, tensile testing and etc. The Ga additioncan reduce the critical strain of DRX in Mg alloys, which is associated with the reduced stacking fault energy, the increasedtwinning density during deformation and the more DRX nucleation sites during HSRR. With the Ga content increasing from2 to 3%, the reduced DRX degree is attributable to the hindrance of dynamic precipitates. With the Ga content increasingfrom 3 to 5%, the slightly increased DRX degree can be ascribed to the relatively coarse precipitates. The Mg–2 Ga alloysheet, featured with complete DRX, exhibits an ultra-high plasticity (with the elongation to rupture of 36.6%) and a relativelylow anisotropy of yield strength and plasticity. The Mg–5 Ga alloy sheet has the best comprehensive mechanical properties,with the ultimate tensile strength of 292 MPa, yield strength of 230 MPa and elongation to rupture of 30.3%, which can beascribed to the combination of grain refinement strengthening and precipitation strengthening.

        Microstructure, Texture Characteristics, Mechanical and Bio-Corrosion Properties of High Strain Rate Rolled Mg–Zn–Sr Alloys

        Microstructure, texture characteristics, mechanical and bio-corrosion properties of the Mg–5Zn–xSr alloys (x=0, 0.2, 0.6,1.0) prepared by high strain rate rolling are carefully studied. A low level of Sr addition enhances dynamic precipitationof nano-scale MgZn2 particles in the as-rolled Mg–5Zn alloy, with 0.6%Sr showing the maximum efciency. These highdensity MgZn2 particles can pin grain boundaries of dynamic recrystallization grains and inhibit their growth. A low levelof Sr addition (≤0.6%) enhances the (0002) basal texture, but 1.0%Sr is just the reverse. The as-rolled Mg–5Zn–0.6Sr alloyexhibits the best combination of ultimate tensile strength (359 MPa) and elongation to rupture (20%). The high strength canbe attributable to a reduced grain size, precipitation and basal texture strengthening. The Mg–5Zn–xSr alloys exhibit excellent bio-corrosion resistance, but a minor Sr addition cannot bring about further bio-corrosion resistance improvement dueto the multiple actions of grain size, DRX degree, dynamic precipitates and texture characteristics. The 0.6%Sr addition cangreatly improve the strength of the as-rolled alloy at no expense of bio-corrosion resistance.
