      • A Parallel Algorithm of String Matching Based on Message Passing Interface for Multicore Processors

        Multicore has long been considered an attractive platform for string matching. However, some existing traditional algorithms of string matching do not adapt to multicore platform, which pose new challenges to parallelism designs. In this paper, we introduce a multicore architecture with message passing interface to address these challenges. We exploit the popular Aho-Corasick algorithm for the string matching engine. Data parallelism is utilized to design optimization technique of string matching. The experiments show that an implementation of the 8-core system achieves up to 10.5 Gbps throughput on the average.

        Application of noise reduction and heat insulation based on controlled-size polystyrene hollow microspheres

        Core/shell polymer microspheres containing carboxyl group were prepared by emulsion polymerization,and then the hollow polymer microspheres (PHMs) were formed by infiltration and swelling after alkalisolution post-treatment. Effects of emulsifier types and initial pH of alkali post-treatment on the particlesize distribution and morphology of PHMs emulsion were investigated. Foamed animal skin material(FAS) was obtained by cross-linking and curing the skin collagen materials with PHMs. The resultsshowed that the optimal initial pH was 9, and a stable PHMs emulsion with a maximum average particlesize of 888.5 nm was obtained. The average particle size order of the PHMs emulsions obtained with differentemulsifiers was: sodium stearate (1028.0 nm) > SDBS (823.6 nm) > cetyltrimethylammonium chloride(607.4 nm). The mechanical strength, porosity, and thermal stability of FAS were enhanced by PHMsdispersing and fixing, while its natural permeability and softness were retained. In addition, the whitenessand ultraviolet aging resistance of FAS were improved obviously. The thermal conductivity of FASwas reduced to 0.034 W/(Km), which was in line with the standard of polystyrene foam board for buildingmaterials. In the range of 2000 7000 Hz, the sound transmission loss of FAS reaches 25 40 dB.

        Theoretical modelling and simulation analysis of the thermal performance of a steel-basalt fiber polymer concrete machine tool joint surface

        The thermal performance of a steel-basalt fiber polymer concrete machine tool joint surface has a key influence on a machine tool. Based on virtual material theory, the equivalent thermal model was established and the thermal performance parameters of virtual materials were deduced by theoretical calculation. The calculation method of actual contact area ratio of steel - basalt fiber polymer concrete joint surface was established based on discrete principle and its accuracy was verified. To determine the influence of preload pressure on the actual contact area ratio, a prediction model was established. The thermal conductivity of the material was measured by the quasi-steady state method. A new systematic simulation analysis method that synthesizes virtual material theory and finite element simulation analysis was proposed, and its accuracy was verified. The results show that the relative error is only 5.01 %, which proves the method’s effectiveness.

        A Point Clouds Fast Thinning Algorithm Based on Sample Point Spatial Neighborhood

        Point clouds have ability to express the spatial entities, however, the point clouds redundancy always involvessome uncertainties in computer recognition and model construction. Therefore, point clouds thinning is an indispensablestep in point clouds model reconstruction and other applications. To overcome the shortcomingsof complex classification index and long time consuming in existing point clouds thinning algorithms, thispaper proposes a point clouds fast thinning algorithm. Specifically, the two-dimensional index is established inplane linear array (x, y) for the scanned point clouds, and the thresholds of adjacent point distance differenceand height difference are employed to further delete or retain the selected sample point. Sequentially, the indexof sample point is traversed forwardly and backwardly until the process of point clouds thinning is completed. The results suggest that the proposed new algorithm can be applied to different targets when the thresholds arebuilt in advance. Besides, the new method also performs superiority in time consuming, modelling accuracyand feature retention by comparing with octree thinning algorithm.

        Feasibility of Vacuum Consolidation with Stereo Drain System in Surface Pre-reinforcement of Dredged Spoil

        A new energy-saving design of stereo drain system has been proposed for the surface pre-reinforcement of dredged spoil. In orderto verify the feasibility of the new method, field experiments were carried out in the enrichment zone of fine particles of a storageyard. The results show that the new method is more economical and energy-saving because the control area of one 7.5kW vacuumpump in the new method is at least twice as large as that in the traditional method. And it is also highly efficient because the surfacepre-reinforcement can be efficiently achieved in a relatively short time of about 90 days. Ground bearing capacity after thereinforcement meets the requirements of the surface pre-reinforcement very well. In consideration of the highlighted reinforcementeffect of the geogrid, the actual ground bearing capacity is greater than the calculated value. Besides, the hierarchical loading schemematching with the new method is reasonable and can be used as reference of other projects. Thus it is feasible to adopt vacuumconsolidation with stereo drain system in surface pre-reinforcement of dredged spoil in terms of economy, efficiency and practicality.

        The characteristics investigation under the unsteady cavitation condition in a centrifugal pump

        Numerical simulation and experimental method are combined to investigate the pump inlet and outlet pressure fluctuations, the vibration characteristics and the internal flow instabilities under the unsteady cavitation condition in a centrifugal pump. It is found that the unsteady cavitation starts to generate as the NPSHa is lower than 5.93 m. Apparent asymmetric and uneven cavity volume distribution on each blade and in the impeller can be observed as the NPSHa decreases from 4.39 m to 1.44 m, which includes the cavitation develops from cavitation surge, rotating cavitation to asymmetric cavitation. The flow vortexes in each blade channel are produced in the cavity trailing edges by the shedding and collapse of cavitation, which interfere with each other and aggravate the flow instabilities. The dominant frequencies of the pump inlet and outlet pressure fluctuations are the shaft frequency and blade passing frequency under the unsteady cavitation conditions, respectively. Broadband pulses are obtained from both the pump inlet and outlet pressure pulsations, which results from the random shedding and collapse of unsteady cavitation bubbles. Obvious corresponding relationship between the root mean squares of the vibration measured in different positions and the suction performance curve is found under both the non-cavitation and unsteady cavitation conditions.

        alAn Intratracheal Challenge Murine Model of Asthma: Can Bronchial Inflammation Affect the Nose?

        Purpose: Extensive data support the influence of the upper airway on lower airway inflammation and pathophysiology in allergic disease. However, few studies have focused on allergic inflammation in the nose after an isolated lower airway allergen challenge, a situation that can exist clinically when human subjects breathe primarily through the mouth, as occurs when nasally congested. This study used a mouse model to investigate whether upper airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness were induced by an isolated lower airway allergen challenge. Methods: BALB/c mice were sensitized by systemic intraperitoneal injection of ovalbumin/saline and challenged with intratracheal ovalbumin/saline. Inflammation in the nose and lungs was assessed by cytology and histology of nasal tissues and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), while nasal airway resistance and response were measured over 3 days post-challenge. Results: Intratracheal application of an allergen in anaesthetized mice resulted in exclusive deposition in the lower airway. Compared to control animals, ovalbumin -sensitized mice after challenge showed bronchial hyperreactivity and increased IL-5 in the serum BALF, as well as eosinophil infiltration in the lungs. However, nasal histology of the ovalbumin-sensitized mice showed no increase in eosinophil infiltration. The nasal lavage fluid revealed no increase in eosinophils or IL-5, and the nasal airway resistance did not increase after challenge either. Conclusions: In a mouse allergy model, exclusive allergen challenge of the lower airway can elicit a pulmonary and systemic allergic response, but does not induce upper airway inflammatory or physiological responses.

        Fracture analysis of one-dimensional hexagonal quasicrystals: Researches of a finite dimension rectangular plate by boundary collocation method

        As an important supplement and development to crystallography, the applications about quasicrystal materials have played a core role in many fields, such as manufacturing and the space industry. Due to the sensitivity of quasicrystals to defects, the research on the fracture problem of quasicrystals has attracted a great deal of attention. We present a boundary collocation method to research fracture problems for a finite dimension rectangular one-dimensional hexagonal quasicrystal plate. Because mode I and mode II problems for onedimensional hexagonal quasicrystals are like that for the classical elastic materials, only the anti-plane problem is discussed in this paper. The correctness of the present numerical method is verified through a comparison of the present results and the existing results. And then, the size effects on stress field, stress intensity factor and energy release rate are discussed in detail. The obtained results can provide valuable references for the fracture behavior of quasicrystals.

        Static Shear Strength Calculation of Plastic Helical Gears Mating with Steel Worm

        The mesh mechanism shows the different characteristics of worm and helical gear compared to other kind of gear pairs. A new calculation method is proposed in this paper. With two sorts of design parameters of worms and gears, and two kinds of plastic material, the shear torque of gears were experimentally obtained with a fixture. Compared with the actual test results, the proposed theoretical calculation results only have less than 4% deviation, which were more accurate than the number calculated with DuPont's method.
