An analytical method was applied for quantitative determinations of the initial rate coefficients of diffusion and reaction for a photo-curable recipe in holographic photo-polymerization. The results showed that the initial diffusion rate kept within small discrepancy despite an order of magnitude difference in the curing light power, while corresponding differences were found for the decay constants of diffusion and reaction in the curing process. Polymerization kinetics was analyzed for both curing and post curing processes.
MicroRNA-1 in Cardiac Diseases and Cancers

MicroRNAs (miRs) are endogenous ≈22-nt non-coding RNAs that participate in the regulation ofgene expression at post-transcriptional level. MiR-1 is one of the muscle-specific miRs, aberrant expressionof miR-1 plays important roles in many physiological and pathological processes. In thisreview, we focus on the recent studies about miR-1 in cardiac diseases and cancers. The findingsindicate that miR-1 may be a novel, important biomarker, and a potential therapeutic target in cardiacdiseases and cancers.
Effect of Time Interval on Speed Estimation using Single Loop Detector Measurements

Considering the importance of estimating speed from single loop detector measurements for many Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) related applications, a variety of algorithms have been developed in the literature for specific time intervals. However,the performance of these algorithms over a spectrum of time intervals has not yet received appropriate attention in the transportation research community. In this study, a Kalman filter based algorithm is selected as a typical representative and investigated over a spectrum of 30 time intervals starting from 1-minute to 30-minute with one minute increment. Empirical results using real world data show that the selected algorithm has workable performances for most of the time intervals under investigation. Specifically, the performances of the selected approach improve for intervals from 1-minute to 5-minute, stay stable for intervals between 5-minute and 15-minute, and decrease slightly for longer time intervals greater than 15-minute. The results demonstrate the ability of the selected algorithm to be readily implemented in a variety of transportation applications with specific time interval needs. Future work is recommended to develop a framework of coupling speed estimating algorithms and real world transportation applications through investigating other single loop speed estimation approaches and ITS application related time interval needs.
DC Voltage Sensorless Control Strategy of Grid-tied Two-stage Three-phase Photovoltaic System

The variable dc voltage generated by photovoltaic (PV) array can be harnessed as much as possible through the well-known two-stage inversion in gridtied configuration, where the controlled dc-link voltage can be maintained stably to ensure the desired low harmonic ac output. Traditionally, the front-end dc Boost converter generally operates to track the maximum power point (MPP) of PV array by directly measuring the input current and voltage, meanwhile the rear-end inverter is controlled to generate sinusoidal output current and keep dc-link voltage unchanged. The PV voltage and dc-link voltage are measured to assist the accurate control of whole PV generation system. This paper proposes a novel control strategy to eliminate both dc voltage sensors assumed in traditional two-stage grid-tied PV system while not downgrade the system performance with regard to the MPPT accuracy and ac output quality. Matlab simulations verified the proposed control strategy with captured waveforms to illustrate its performance.

An inherent zero-voltage and zero-current-switching phase-shifted full-bridge converter with reverse-blocking insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) or non-punch-through IGBT is proposed in this paper. This converter not only ensures that the switches in the lagging leg works at zero-current switching, but also minimizes circulating conduction loss without any additional auxiliary circuits. A 1.2 kW hardware prototype is designed, fabricated, and tested to verify the proposed topology. The control loop design procedures with small-signal models are also presented. A simple, low-cost, and robust democratic current-sharing circuit is also introduced and verified in this study. The proposed converter is a suitable alternative for compact, cost-effective applications with high-voltage input.
A New Approach for Test Detection Using Homoge

In this paper, a new approach for text detection in images and video based on homogeneity is studied. The texture analysis is applied to the homogeneity domain. Both local information and global information are used while calculating the homogeneity feature. Text region property is confirmed by using neural network trained to extract property feature by a fixed size text detector in homogeneity domain. Comparisons with text detection edge‐based method show that the proposed method has a better accuracy.
Secure and Efficient Conjunctive Keyword Search Scheme without Secure Channel

Conjunctive keyword search encryption is an important technique for protecting sensitive data that is outsourced to cloud servers. However, the process of searching outsourced data may facilitate the leakage of sensitive data. Thus, an efficient data search approach with high security is critical. To solve this problem, an efficient conjunctive keyword search scheme based on ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption is proposed for cloud storage environment. This paper proposes an efficient mechanism for removing the secure channel and resisting off-line keyword-guessing attacks. The storage overhead and the computational complexity are regardless of the number of keywords. This scheme is proved adaptively secure based on the decisional bilinear Diffie-Hellman assumption in the standard model. Finally, the results of theoretical analysis and experimental simulation show that the proposed scheme has advantages in security, storage overhead and efficiency, and it is more suitable for practical applications.
GROWTH AND MICROSTRUCTURES OF ULTRATHIN Bi 2 Te 3 NANOPLATES BY MODIFIED HOT WALL EPITAXY

Ultrathin Bi 2 Te 3 nanoplates have been grown on an oxidized silicon substrate by a modi¯ed hotwall epitaxy (HWE) method, in which a quartz plate with holes was employed. The micro-structures and optical properties of Bi 2 Te 3 nanoplates were investigated by X-ray di®raction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscope (AFM) and micro-Ramanspectroscopy. The results show that ultrathin Bi 2 Te 3 nanoplates with the thickness of about sixquintuple layers (QLs) are obtained, which is di±cult for the traditional HWE technique. TheRaman vibration mode A11gfrom the nanoplates exhibits an obviously red shift with decreasingthickness. The thickness variation of one nanoplate was obtained by the Raman map derivedfrom the vibration frequency of A11gmode and is in good agreement with the AFM result, whichindicates that Raman map is an e®ective method to characterize the thickness di®erence ofultrathin Bi 2 Te 3 nanoplates.
