A Series of Transition-metal Coordination Complexes Assembled from 3-Nitrophthalic Acid and Thiabendazole: Synthesis, Structure and Properties

        Wen-Jia Xu,Qi-Jun Xue,Peng Liang,Ling-Yu Zhang,Yan-Feng Huang,Yu Feng 대한화학회 2014 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.35 No.1

In order to explore new coordination frameworks with novel designed 3-nitrophthalic acid and the same N– donor ancillary ligand, a series of novel coordination complexes, namely, [Cd 2 (3-NPA) 2 (TBZ) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]·2H 2 O (1), [Zn 2 (3-NPA) 2 (TBZ) 2 ] (2), [Zn 2 O(3-NPA)(TBZ)(H 2 O)] n (3), [Co(3-NPA)(TBZ)(H 2 O)] n (4) (3-NPAH 2 = 3- nitrophthalic acid), have been hydrothermally synthesized through the reaction of 3-nitrophthalic acid with divalent transition-metal salts in the presence of N-donor ancillary coligand (TBZ = thiabendazole). As a result of various coordination modes of the versatile 3-NPAH 2 and the coligand TBZ, these complexes exhibit structural diversity. X-ray structure analysis reveals that 1 and 2 are 0D molecular rings, while 3 and 4 are one- dimensional (1D) infinite chain polymers. And the weak O-H…O hydrogen bonds and C-H…O nonclassical hydrogen bonds as well as π-π stacking also play important roles in affecting the final structure where complexes 1, 3 and 4 have 3D supramolecular architectures, while complex 2 has a 2D supramolecular network. Also, IR spectra, fluorescence properties and thermal decomposition process of complexes 1-4 were investigated.

Synthesis, Structures and Properties of Two Metal-organic Frameworks Derived from 3-Nitro-1,2-benzenedicarboxylic Acid

        Wen-Jia Xu,Ling-Yu Zhang,Jin-Niu Tang,Dai-Yin Wang,Gang-Hong Pan,Yu Feng 대한화학회 2013 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.34 No.8

Two metal-organic frameworks based on the connectivity co-effect between rigid benzenedicarboxylic acid and bridging ligand have been synthesized [Zn2(3-NO2-bdc)2(4,4'-bpy)2H2O]n (1), [Co(3-NO2-bdc)(4,4'- bpy)H2O]n (2) (where 3-NO2-bdcH2 = 3-nitro-1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, 4,4'-bpy = 4,4'-bipyridine). The two novel complexes were characterized by IR spectrum, elemental analysis, fluorescent properties, thermogravimetric analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD). X-ray structure analysis reveals that 1 and 2 are two-dimensional (2D) network structures. Complex 1 and complex 2 belong to triclinic crystal with P-1 space group. The luminescence measurements reveal that two complexes exhibit good fluorescent emissions in the solid state at room temperature. Also, thermal decomposition process and powder X-ray diffraction of complexes were investigated.

Modified beluga whale optimization with multi-strategies for solving engineering problems

        Jia Heming,Wen Qixian,Wu Di,Wang Zhuo,WANG YUHAO,Wen Changsheng,Abualigah Laith 한국CDE학회 2023 Journal of computational design and engineering Vol.10 No.6

The beluga whale optimization (BWO) algorithm is a recently proposed metaheuristic optimization algorithm that simulates three behaviors: beluga whales interacting in pairs to perform mirror swimming, population sharing information to cooperate in predation, and whale fall. However, the optimization performance of the BWO algorithm still needs to be improved to enhance its practicality. This paper proposes a modified beluga whale optimization (MBWO) with a multi-strategy. It was inspired by beluga whales’ two behaviors: group gathering for foraging and searching for new habitats in long-distance migration. This paper proposes a group aggregation strategy (GAs) and a migration strategy (Ms). The GAs can improve the local development ability of the algorithm and accelerate the overall rate of convergence through the group aggregation fine search; the Ms randomly moves towards the periphery of the population, enhancing the ability to jump out of local optima. In order to verify the optimization ability of MBWO, this article conducted comprehensive testing on MBWO using 23 benchmark functions, IEEE CEC2014, and IEEE CEC2021. The experimental results indicate that MBWO has a strong optimization ability. This paper also tests MBWO’s ability to solve practical engineering optimization problems through five practical engineering problems. The final results prove the effectiveness of MBWO in solving practical engineering optimization problems.

      • U.S. INTEREST RATES AND PORTFOLIO INVESTMENTS IN LATIN AMERICA

Jia wen Yang People&Global Business Association 1997 Global Business and Finance Review Vol.2 No.1

This paper analyzes the relationship between U.S. interest rates and portfolio investments in four Latin American countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico. The paper finds that U.S. interest rate fluctuations have a significant negative impact on capital flows to these countries, including direct investment and other capital as well as portfolio capital flows. Differences do exist across countries and they relate to country-specific macroeconomics policies and financial reforms. The findings of this study have important implications for international monetary and financial issues and macroeconomic policies in emerging markets.

Decomposition of Interference Hyperspectral Images Based on Split Bregman Iteration

( Jia Wen ),( Lei Geng ),( Cailing Wang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.7

Images acquired by Large Aperture Static Imaging Spectrometer (LASIS) exhibit obvious interference stripes, which are vertical and stationary due to the special imaging principle of interference hyperspectral image (IHI) data. As the special characteristics above will seriously affect the intrinsic structure and sparsity of IHI, decomposition of IHI has drawn considerable attentions of many scientists and lots of efforts have been made. Although some decomposition methods for interference hyperspectral data have been proposed to solve the above problem of interference stripes, too many times of iteration are necessary to get an optimal solution, which will severely affect the efficiency of application. A novel algorithm for decomposition of interference hyperspectral images based on split Bregman iteration is proposed in this paper, compared with other decomposition methods, numerical experiments have proved that the proposed method will be much more efficient and can reduce the times of iteration significantly.

BRCA1 Reversion Mutation Confers Resistance to Olaparib and Camrelizumab in a Patient with Breast Cancer Liver Metastasis

        Jia-Ni Pan,Lei Lei,Wei-Wu Ye,Xiao-Jia Wang,Wen-Ming Cao 한국유방암학회 2021 Journal of breast cancer Vol.24 No.5

Reversion mutations are associated with clinical resistance to poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi). Here, we describe the detection of a BRCA1 reversion mutation in a 39-year-old woman with metastatic breast cancer harboring a heterozygous germline BRCA1 exons 7–8 deletion who received PARPi olaparib combined with immune checkpoint inhibitor camrelizumab as third-line therapy. During progression from the olaparib and camrelizumab combination therapy, we identified via genomic sequencing a novel 7-base pair somatic deletion in BRCA1 (c.617_623delACAAATC). Sequence analyses indicated that this mutation realigned the reading frame of BRCA1, which potentially led to the reversal of its normal function and conferred resistance to PARPi.

A reliability analysis method for rock slope controlled by weak structural surface

        Jia-wen Zhou,Ming-yuan Jiao,Hui-ge Xing,Xing-guo Yang,Yu-chuan Yang 한국지질과학협의회 2017 Geosciences Journal Vol.21 No.3

Catastrophic landslides maybe occur in rock slope due to the effect of strong earthquakes or heavy rainfall. The stability of rock slope is usually controlled by different scales of weak structural surfaces, which are uncertain and randomly exist in the rock slope. According to the geological characteristics of rock slope, two typical failure modes – plane and wedge are possible. A second-order second-moment (SOSM) method is presented to calculate the reliability index and the failure probability of rock slope, which is an improvement over the first-order second-moment (FOSM) method, and performance functions are built up with the classic limit equilibrium method. The presented method is applied to analyze the failure probability of two rock slopes at the Jinping I Hydropower Station and is compared with the Monte Carlo method and the FOSM method. The computed results show that for plane failure, the reliability index and the failure probability determined by the presented method are 0.563 and 28.7%, respectively, and the reliability index and the failure probability determined by Monte Carlo method are 0.677 and 24.9%, respectively. However, for the FOSM method, the reliability index and failure probability are –0.025 and 51.0%, respectively. For both plane failure and wedge failure, the difference between the presented method and the Monte Carlo method is very small, but the failure probability of plane failure determined by FOSM method is larger than that of the other two methods. The presented method can provide a useful tool to evaluate the failure probability of rock slope.

Performance Evaluation of Ethernet Frame Burst Mode in EPON Downstream Link

        Wen-Kang Jia,Yaw-Chung Chen 한국전자통신연구원 2008 ETRI Journal Vol.30 No.2

We apply IEEE 802.3 frame burst mode (FBM) to the Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) downstream link and compare its performance with non-frame burst mode for various traffic patterns. Although in light traffic loads (ρ<0.5) the efficiency of the FBM mechanism is not significant, it does feature high throughput, small jitter, low queue occupancy, and short queuing delay in optical line terminals under various traffic loads with various numbers of optical network units (ONUs). The FBM performance always approaches that of full-duplex mode, especially under heavy traffic loads (ρ>0.5). Moreover, an increase in number of ONUs will decrease the burst performance. Our work shows that FBM scheme is very useful for EPON transmission and has low design complexity.

Comics with Drama: New Communication in Wedia

        ( Jia-wen Hu ),( Seng-su Tsang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.10

We-the-media (aka wedia) is a concept where the users of social networking sites, such as Facebook, turn into the broadcasters. This study used the popular application Bitstrips as the experiment tool. Facebook was used as the Wedia platform for publishing designed comics, then used the three elements of Goffman`s dramaturgy model―role, scene and dialog―to analyze 265 comics created by 3 researchers and observe the audience`s responses within 9 months. The results showed that people want to see a good story with positive dialogue, and prefer scene is school more than work. As all these elements are controllable, Wedia communication has the potential for more applications. We also found that including the elements of news, gambling and gift-giving tended to trigger greater response. Furthermore, We suggesting that such embedding of product information in web episodes (webisodes) with caricature could be a successful marketing strategy.
