        Description of a new species of the whitefly genus Pealius Quaintance & Baker (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) from China

        A new whitefly species, Pealius yunnanensis sp. nov., collected from Mengzi, Caoba village (Yunnan, China) on Ficus microcarpa Linn. f. (Urticales: Moraceae), is described with morphology, line illustrations, photographs and scanning electron microscope images. In addition, a checklist of Chinese species of Pealius is provided and all Pealius species recorded from Ficus around the world are listed. Specimens have been deposited in the Insect Collection of Zhejiang Agriculture & Forestry University (ZAFU), Lin'an, China.

        Adaptive polymorphism of tetrameric alpha-amylase inhibitors in wild emmer wheat

        α-Amylase inhibitors are attractive candidates for the control of seed weevils as these insects are highly dependent on starch as an energy source. Wheat tetrameric α-amylase inhibitor (WTAI) is a mixture (60 kDa) of 3 units: WTAI-CM2 plus 2 WTAI-CM3 plus WTAI-CM16, where none of the subunits is active on its own. A total of 334 gene sequences were obtained from 14 populations (131 accessions= genotypes) of wild emmer wheat. The frequencies of SNPs in WTAI-CM2,WTAI-CM3 and WTAI-CM16 were 1 out of 87.6, 101.4, and 108.0 bases, where 5, 5 and 4 SNPs were detected in the coding sequence, respectively. The nucleotide sequence of each unit of tetrameric α-amylase inhibitors were much more conserved than that of dimeric or monomeric inhibitors. The wild emmer wheat populations showed diversity on three WTAI loci,both between and within populations. It was revealed that WTAI were naturally selected for across populations by a ratio of dN/dS as expected. The results of purifying and positive selection hypothesis (p<0.05) also showed that the sequences of WTAI were contributed by natural selection, which ensures the protein function conservation as well as the inhibition diversity with insects amylase enzyme. Ecological factors, singly or in combination, explained a significant proportion of the variations in the SNPs. Ecological factors have an important evolutionary role in gene differentiation at these loci, and tetrameric α-amylase inhibitors are obviously adaptively selected under different environments.

        Inverse Optimal Adaptive Stochastic Gain Assignment for a Class of Nonlinear Systems with Markovian Jump

        This paper deals with the inverse optimal adaptive stochastic gain assignment problem for a class of Markovian jump nonlinear systems with constant unknown parameters. The Wiener noises have bounded but unknown covariance. It is shown that a sufficient condition to solve this problem is the existence of a Lyapunov function for a corresponding auxiliary system. By employing backstepping technique and common Lyapunov function method, an adaptive control law is designed, which solves this problem for a class of Markovian jump nonlinear systems in strict-feedback form. A numerical example is given to illustrate the theoretical analysis result.

        Constructing ZnCo2O4@CTP microspheres as a high-energy lithium storage material

        Transition metal oxides are deemed as a promising substitute for graphite anode materials of Li-ion batteries(LIBs) on account of their large specific capacity. Nonetheless, the large volume change in the processof charging and discharging leads to low capacity retention. Herein, a well-designed ZnCo2O4@coaltar pitch based porous carbon (ZCO-CTP) microsphere is prepared to construct the high-performanceanode of LIBs. The coating modification of CTP significantly reduces the polarization and charge transferresistance and improves the migration ability of ions and electrons, thus achieving a superior reversiblecapacity and cycling stability of ZCO-CTP anode. The battery with obtained ZCO-CTP5 provides a largecharge capacity of 406.17 mAh/g at 1000 mA g1 compared with pristine ZCO (only 157.78 mAh/g). Even after 1000 cycles at 1000 mA g1, the battery can achieve a charge/discharge capacity of598.46/601.17 mAh/g. We believe that the application of CTP will provide a new perspective for theexploitation of high-performance anode materials for LIBs.

        Research of fast point cloud registration method in construction error analysis of hull blocks

        The construction quality control of hull blocks is of great significance for shipbuilding. The total station device is predominantly employed in traditional applications, but suffers from long measurement time, high labor intensity and scarcity of data points. In this paper, the Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) device is utilized to obtain an efficient and accurate comprehensive construction information of hull blocks. To address the registration problem which is the most important issue in comparing the measurement point cloud and the design model, an automatic registration approach is presented. Furthermore, to compare the data acquired by TLS device and sparse point sets obtained by total station device, a method for key point extraction is introduced. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach is fast and accurate, and that applying TLS to control the construction quality of hull blocks is reliable and feasible.

        The Gastrointestinal Metabolic Effects of Oat Product Based-β- glucan in Mice

        Most physiologicalstudies studies of oat beta(β)-glucan have shown positive effects on regulation ofblood glucose and lipid metabolism related to β-glucanmetabolism in the gastrointestinal tract. The effects of oatβ-glucan (OG), oat bran (OB), oat flour (OF), and oatmeal(OM) containing different levels of β-glucan on digestibilityand degradation were investigated in normal mice. Chymeviscosity, the gastric emptying rate, the gastrointestinaltransit rate, the activities of intestinal digestive enzymes,the levels of plasma cholecystokinin (CCK) and motlin(MOT), and degradation of β-glucan in oat products weredetermined. β-glucans from different oat products increasedintestinal chyme viscosity, delayed gastric emptying,promoted enterokinesia, decreased amylase, trypsin, lipase,and Na+, K+-ATPase activities, and promoted secretion ofCCK and MOT, especially for oat derived β-glucan.

        Processing, microstructure and mechanical properties of porous silicon nitride by a slip casting method using petroleum coke as pore former

        In this study, porous Si3N4 ceramics were obtained by a slip casting method which would be easier applied in industry. The most stable and dispersing aqueous suspension was obtained from a solid slurry content of 56.2%, a carboxymethyl cellulose concentration of 0.3% as the adhesive and 0.05% glycerol as the defoamer. Petroleum coke was used as pore-former, and at the same time, it was helpful for the stability of the suspension. The burning-out of the petroleum coke seemed to be an economical way for increasing the porosity of porous Si3N4. After sintering at 1,800℃ for 2 h, samples with a pore size about 10 μm, porosities of 45-60%, and flexural strength of 52.0-112.1MPa were obtained.         Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-7로 합성한 ZnO 나노입자의 Acetone 가스 감응 특성

        Highly uniform and well-dispersed Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-7 (ZIF-7) particles were prepared by the precipitation of Zn<sup>2+</sup> using benzimidazole, which were converted into ZnO nanoparticles by heat treatment at 500 °C for 24 h. The ZIF-7 derived ZnO nanoparticles showed abundant mesopores, high surface area, and good dispersion. The gas sensing characteristics toward 5 ppm acetone, ethanol, trimethylamine, ammonia, p-xylene, toluene, benzene, and carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide were investigated at 350 - 450℃. ZIF-7 derived ZnO nanoparticles exhibited high response to 5 ppm acetone (R<sub>a</sub>/R<sub>g</sub>=57.6; R<sub>a</sub>: resistance under exposure to the air, R<sub>g</sub>: resistance under exposure to the gas) at 450 ℃ and negligible cross-responses to other interference gases (trimethylamine, ammonia, p-xylene, toluene, benzene, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide) and relatively low responses to ethanol. ZIF derived synthesis of metal oxide nanoparticles can be used to design high performance acetone sensors.

        Three New 11,20-Epoxy-ent-kauranoids from Isodon rubescens

        Three rare and new 11,20-epoxy-ent-kaurane diterpenoids, named jianshirubesins D-F (1-3), along with one known analogue (4), were isolated from the aerial parts of Isodon rubescens. Their structures were established by analysis of spectroscopic data. Found in the MTT assay to evaluate the cytotoxicity of compounds 1, 2, and 4, only 1 could selectively inhibit certain cell lines from proliferating. In addition, a simple structure-activity relationship discussion might suggest a new bioactive moiety, different from the α,β-unsaturated ketone group.
