<P>DNA vaccines are known to be lacking in immunogenicity in humans. Presently, electroporation (EP) is thought to overcome this limitation. Here, we investigate whether human papillomavirus 16 E7 DNA vaccines delivered by EP might elicit potent antitumor activity in animal cervical cancer models, with a focus on the underlying mechanism(s). Intramuscular (IM)-EP delivery of E7 DNA vaccines induced more potent antitumor therapeutic and antimetastatic activity compared with IM delivery. Moreover, the tumor-controlled animals by IM-EP possessed long-term memory responses to parental tumor cells. This improved antitumor effect was concomitant with augmented Ag-specific CTL activities. IM-EP also induced IgG and Th-cell responses higher than IM delivery. Finally, IM-EP resulted in more antigen production in and more attraction of immune cells into the site of DNA injection, suggesting that these biological and immunological changes made by IM-EP might be responsible for enhanced CTL activities and antitumor resistance. Thus, this study shows that IM-EP can induce more potent antitumor activity by augmenting CTL responses possibly through more antigen production in and more attraction of immune cells into the muscle sites. This study also suggests that IM-EP of E7 DNA vaccines might be a potential approach toward treating patients with cervical cancer.</P>
Improvements of phosphorescent white OLEDs performance for lighting application.

<P>We developed white OLED device with high power efficiency, in which blue and orange phosphorescent emitters were used. By introduction of multi-functional interlayer which has partial doping of orange dopant inside EBL, we report WOLEDs with peak external efficiencies up to (14.1% EQE, 31.3 Im/W) without light out-coupling technique. At 1000 cd/m2, the performance achieved was 11.9% EQE, 18.7 Im/W with CIE = (0.39, 0.44). We also found that WOLED performances are related with doping ratio of the orange dopant that was inserted inside EBL.</P>

In this paper, a novel scheme, directly using the PID-type fuzzy-neural network logic system as a controller, is proposed for the control of a class of nonlinear dynamical systems. The advantage of the proposed control method is simple to design a controller for unknown nonlinear systems because of learning ability. In order to verify excellent control performances of the proposed control method, we compared with a general fuzzy-neural network control method with one link manipulator. The proposed control method has the very superior tracking characteristics.

The purpose of this study is to prepare and present a method for managing and manipulating skyline in Suwon city, from the view point of historical landscape preservation. In this study, the historical landscape is defined as the urban landscape which has the elements of historical spaces, and the high-rise building is defined as a building of eight or more stories. Sixteen key view points, through the field survey, are selected from sixty five candidate view points. Based on field survey and key views, sensitivity map has been drawn. The key view points, key views, and sensitivity map are the devices for the management of urban skyline. Because the view to the historical landscapes is a very important component of urban landscape management, it is necessary to provide systematic and effective ways of controlling urban skyline. Further more, landscape impact evaluation system needs to be adopted as a part of high-rise building permission process.

This study aims to investigate the cognition for the credit card of housewives, the fregueney of impulsive pruchasing by credit cards and the correlation with the former and the latter. The findings are as follows : The cognition for the credit card of housewives is positive in housewives who are higher educated, social status and working. The housewives using credit cards for impulsive purehase are lower status in occupation and they use them frequently. There are negative correlation between the cognition for the credit cards and impulsive purchasing.

우리 농업과 농정을 둘러싼 대내외 여건이 급격히 변화하는 상황에서 21세기에 대비할 한국 농업의 새로운 발전전략의 수립과 이를 실현하기 위한 새로운 농정 방향의 모색이 필요한 시점이다. 이에 본 논문은 우리나라 농업·농정의 대내외 여건 변화를 살펴 본 후, 이를 바탕으로 한국농업이 효과적으로 대응하기 위한 정책 방향과 우리 농업계의 과제가 무엇인지에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. It is time to establish an effective development strategy and to seek a new system of agricultural policy toward 21 century for us coping with the rapid change in internal and external environments around the Korean agriculture. To begin with, this paper investigates internal and external factors surrounding the Korean agricultural sector Based on the analysis of the factors which impact on the future Korean agriculture, the study prescribes the direction of agricultural policy and mission of the Korean agricultural sector in order to cope effectively with the rapid change in internal and external environments.

현재 본격적으로 진행중인 WTO DDA 농업협상이 타결된 후에 세계 농산물 교역질서는 보다 더 비교우위에 입각한 경쟁체제로 돌입할 것이다. 특히, 이번 협상은 국내보조 및 수출보조의 감축과 시장개방의 대폭적 확대를 목표로 이루어지고 있으므로 향후 협상 타결의 결과로 국내농업에 미치는 부정적인 파급효과는 지난 UR협상 타결로 발생한 것 보다 훨씬 더 클 것으로 보인다. 이에 본 논문은 WTO DDA 농업현상이 분야별 협상골격(Modality)마련에 돌입한 현 시점에서 주요 협상 쟁점을 살펴보고, 향후 WTO를 중심으로 전개될 다자간 협상과 세계농산물 교역질서 변화에 효과적으로 대응하기 위한 정책적 대응방안을 제시하고자 한다. The Korean agricultute seems to experience the greater negative impact after the settlement of WTO New Round rather than UR Agreement on Agriculture. It is because that the ongoing negotiations on agriculture will likely result in further reductions of export subsidies and trade-distorting domestic subsidies, as well as reduction of tariffs and expansion of the market access. Therefore it's time for us to prepare the policy measures coping with the change in situation in order to minimize the negative impacts on agricultural sector. The main purpose of the study is to summarize and illustrate some of the major issues in the current WTO negotiation on agriculture. Also the paper presents some policy implications and missions so as to minimize the negative impacts of agricutural trade liberalization on the Korean agriculture.
미스트 분무 및 스프링클러 관수가 단동 플라스틱 하우스에 미치는 냉각효과

As crops recently can be cultivated all the year in greenhouses, we need to improve the environment in which crops are able to grow in the summer. Therefore, in this study, we quantitatively got the cooling effects of 4 single span plastic greenhouses in the following ways : by spraying mist or sprinkler, or by opening the side window. and with those variables, we simultaneously did experiments at 4 greenhouses under equivalent conditions to reduce the temperature of the greenhouses in the summer. The results of the experiments are as following : 1) The temperatures of the greenhouses were effectively reduced by both spraying mist and sprinkler. 2) When the mist is intermittently sprayed. the indoor temperature has decreased by 4 degrees centigrade, meanwhile, in the greenhouse to make experiments using sprinkler, the temperature of that has been reduced by 2 degrees centigrade. Therefore, we can see the cooling effects of smaller mist in size as more effective than those of sprinkler. 3) When the greenhouse is naturally ventilated by opening the side window, we have to apply another cooling system because the indoor temperature is higher than the outdoor one.
