The purpose of this study is to analyze the structure and meaning of conceptual blending in Kim Jongsam`s war poetry. Through this, we discuss the poetic characteristics of Kim JongSam`s war poetry. war poetry of Kim Jongsam is shaped by representations of the death experience. For example, the poem “A Cairn” represents images of grave and death. However, it does not focus on revealing death itself, but emphasizes building a grave in the face of death. This reveals humanity and the will of life. In Kim Jongsam`s war poetry, life is shaped as an image of sound. In particular, through the “Wandering Road”, he mapping the suffering of the people who are aiming at survival to sound. “Auschwitz Lager” also depicts the death of a family, showing that there is life with sound. Kim Jongsam has structured the concept by blending between the Holocaust and the massacre of civilians during the Korean War. And he showed that the violence of war is everywhere beyond a certain space. The same is true when dealing with time. The internalization of war and violence describes a historical event that is still unanswered. Kim Jongsam conceptualizes the problem of reality based on his war experience. This conceptual structure is projected metaphorically again in his poetry. Kim Jongsam`s war poetry is a good example of how he considered the problems of reality and historical events. This is a clue to understand the historical consciousness of Kim Jongsam. This will enable a new interpretation of Kim Jong Sam`s poetry consciousness.
