        Rapid prototyping can fabricate physical models directly from the CAD models. Since actual production of a physical model using traditional techniques has been quite expensive, a prototyping apparatus like Stereolithography can recently be used to get physical verification of a product design rapid and economic. This, however, still costs some expenses enough to take an interest in more economic methods, visual simulation techniques. Development of an intermediate geometric model of the product design and careful inspection of its virtual shape before the real fabrication take no physical cost. In this paper we propose an image simulation method especially for supporting an rapid prototyping application. The method can demonstrate its capability of image simulation by comparing the simulated images with their physical models.

      • 신속성형기술 전용 형상 모델링 기술 개발-표면 미세돌기의 설계

        This paper presents a geometrical modeling technique including an energy method for defining a regular texture field made by an RP apparatus. The texture field is supposed to be made from both a parametric surface and a non-analytic STL CAD model using an energy minimization analogy based on energy constraints. Designing surface texture for rapid prototyping, however, is difficult due to complex macro-structure of the tiny texture geometry that must be compatible with the non-traditional manufacturing method of rapid prototyping. An application of geometric modeling techniques to development of a computer-aided design tool for solving the addressed problems is proposed in this paper. Manufacturing constraints are identified, formulated, and introduced into a unified design constraints framework being incorporated into the design of a texture cell. Also, an energy minimizing parametric geometry is devised and implemented to create an optimal texture geometry.

        Rapid prototyping (RP) technologies have an ability of creating a physical part directly from its computer model by adding material on a layer by layer basis. Since actual production of a physical model using traditional techniques has been quite expensive, a prototyping apparatus like Stereolithography can recently be used to get physical verification of a product design rapid and economic. In spite of this tremendous progress in fabrication, many problems remain unsolved including several geometric issues that must be resolved in coming years before these technologies are in common use. The biggest problem lies in their standard file format for CAD data exchange. Current method using the de facto industry standard STL data format have at times resulted in problems such as accuracy, redundancy, and integrity in its representing CAD models. In this paper, a general explanation about why a next generation of data exchange standard for RP technologies is needed, why it must be based on a solid model, and what its major advantages are given.

      • 사회인지론에 근거한 낮병원 정신질환 입원환자 대상비만 예방 및 관리를 위한 영양교육 효과평가

        Mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression have shown high prevalence of obesity. According to the previous studies, nutrition education has therapeutic effects on patients, however mentally ill patients rarely have opportunities of long term nutrition education. In this study, nutrition education based on the social cognitive theory was conducted. Patients with mental illness received education program once a month during 18 months in a day hospital. Fifteen patients were included and divided into two groups according to the attendance rate. Results showed that the group attended the education more than 10 times showed weight loss, while the group less than 10 times showed weight gain. Five long-term hospitalized patients gained weight during one year prior to the nutrition education, but showed weight loss during one year with the nutrition education. Regardless of the number of attendance, the group of BMI≥30kg/m2 showed weight loss. Although this study has several limitations and did not obtain a statistically significant results, it confirmed the necessity of providing clinical nutrition services including nutrition education for mentally ill patients.

      • STEP 표현 2차원 조형층 정밀도 향상에 관한 연구

        Nowadays, there are several different CAD softwares that can create product geometries with different applications. Similarly, most recent RP processes have quite different capabilities, and most are not even isotropic, so that machine-dependent information such as part orientation, position, and size during the fabrication process becomes a crucial issue in integrating a heterogeneous environment of CAD and RP processes using the data exchange standard. Current method using the de facto industry standard STL have at times resulted in problems such as accuracy, redundancy, and integrity in its representing CAD models. STEP is the upcoming standard. Many major companies are already working with it. This is one of the biggest reason why STEP can be a useful way of exchanging CAD-SFF data. This research project proposes a method of slicing and editing STEP-based RP models for the next generation data transfer paradigm between CAD systems and RP systems using STEP. As an approach for the purpose, this proposes a method for acquiring improved accuracy of 2D sliced layers in STEP with a tentative schema of SFF process features. The new data exchange standard must be compatible with, but independent of, process fabrication features. A software implementation of visualizing, editing, and slicing CAD model based on STEP information model for a complete data exchange is also proposed. As for future works, various optimal slicing algorithm will help acquire accurate RP parts.

        We have encountered a rare case of symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating Escherichia coli sepsis in a 47-years-old male. He was successfully treated with antibiotics, anticoagulants, and vasodilator. To our knowledge, this is the first report on symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating E. coli sepsis in Korea.

        음낭외상시 초음파 촬영술의 유용성

        Background: Testicular rupture is a surgical emergency which command immediate repair. If surgery is delayd, a hematoma causes severe pain and loss of spermatogenesis as well as hormonal functions. Scrotal ultrasonography has been helpful in early diagnosis of testicular rupture. But disadvantage of ultrasonography include a relatively low signal-to-noise level, tissue nonspecificity, lack of contrast media, a small field of view, and dependence on the operators skill and the patients physique. Also the diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity or specificity of scrotal ultrasonography was variable in regard to authors. And so, a diagnostic accuracy of scrotal ultrasonography was evaluated in scrotal trauma. Methods·. We reviewed 38 patients of scrotal trauma from May, 1994 to March, 1998. 6 patients were treated conservatively fellowing sonography and 10 patients treated only surgical exploration without ultasonography Surgical exploration was performed in 22 case, which were evaluated by ultasound before surgical treatment. In a such 22 cases, diagnostic accuracy of scrotal ultasonography was evaluated. Results: We compared ultrasound before treatment with surgical exploration finding in a such 22 cases. The ultrasonographic features in 7(31.8%) out of 22 cases, which showed testicular ruptured, but surgical exploration revealed testicular rupture in5 and epididymal rupture in 1, simple hematocele in 1. In 15(68.2%) out of 22cases the simple hematocele was diagnosed by ultrasonography, but surgical finding feature in of the 7 cases revealed testicular rupture, epididymal rupture in 1, simple hematocele in 7. The sensitivity and specificity for the ultrasonography are 42.9% and 87.5%, and the positive and negative predictive values are 86.5%and 46.7%, respectively. Ultrasonography is low sensitive in identifying testicular rupture. Conclusion: 7trasonography include a relatively low signal-to-noise level, tissue nonspecificity, lack of contrast media, a small field of view, and dependence on the operators skill and the patients physique. Therefore, early surgical exploration for saving the testis should be performed that sonographically by seeing hypoehoic peripheral lesions and disappearance of normal ovoid form of testis, hematocele in scrotal sac.

        The purpose of this study was to analyze application cases of human sensibility in various fields. Nowadays in various fields human sensibility and ergonomic have been studied using variety of methods. Studies on human sensibility have been widely carried in various field such as design and making instruments, selling products and marketing skills even if environmental design fields and human interface by computers. The results have been well applied in of industry. Therefore, understanding rationality. Through this study, ways of creating and measuring environment to improve our living quality, and living places can be developed. From such a viewpoint, this study did the following; First, it reviewed the literatures of studies and results of the tests for application of human sensibility in various field, and organized contents of studies and measurement tools which were used in the studies or tests. Second, it summarized the measurement methods of human sensibility according to three parts; physiological measurement, psychological measurement, and physical measurement. This study was expected to braden the sight on research methodologies and relevant applicable areas.

      • 구인 Lumbricus terestris Goto et Hatai의 藥理學的 硏究 : 구인의 Methanol 엑스가 家兎血淸中 Total Cholesterol 含量變化 및 血糖量에 미치는 影響 The Effectes of Vermis-extracts on the Serum Total Cholesterol and Blood-Sugar Levels from Rabbits

        The effects of Vermis-(Lumbricus terestris Goto et Hatai)extracts on. The serum cholesterol and blood-sugar levels from normal and alloxan-diabetic rabbits were observed. The crude drug was extracted by methanol, and extracted samples were orally administrated to the normal and alloxan-diabetic rabbits. The serum total cholesterol and blood-sugar Ievels of normal rabbits admistrated with sample, no significant variation were detected. The serum cholesterol and blood-sugar levels of alloxan-diabetic rabbits were significantly increased after 3 days. The increased serum total cholesterol levels of alloxan-diabetic rabbits were significantly decreased by administration of the Vermis-extracts, and were returned to the control levels after 11days. However, the increased blood-sugar levels of alloxan-diabetic rabbits were not significantly decreased by administration of the drug. According to the above results, it would be concluded that the Vermis-extracts influences for the recovery of the increased serum total cholesterol levels.
