        This study was conducted to investigate the performance and biofilm characteristics of modified media(RUN 2) in comparison with conventional media(RUN 1) on wastewater treatment system. The results were as follows ; At four different HRT of 6, 12, 18 and 24hr, BOD removal efficiency was 65.5, 85.6, 92.2 and 91.9% in RUN 1 and 70.7, 88.7, 94.7 and 95.9% in RUN 2. Biofilm characteristics in each treatment system could be classed as following : i) In RUN 1, the biomass was 2.54 to 3.01㎎/㎥ and its thickness was 342 to 907μm and in RUN 2, this was 560 to 1,180μm and that was 2.54~3.01㎎/㎥. ii) The biofilm dry density was 32.60㎎/㎥ in RUN 1 and 39.06㎎/㎥ in RUN2, respectively. iii) The VSS contents pe unit area were 2,675~2,822㎎VSS/㎠ in RUN 1 AND 2,954~3,123㎎VSS/㎠ in RUN 2. In consider of organic removal rates and biofilm attachment characteristics, it was proved that modified media in RUN 2 was higher than conventional media in RUN 1.

And estimation about symbolic image is affirmative, ashes consumption intention level is high. Exercise participation degree and service quality Hawibyeonin that other commerce sports center consumption experience Hawibyeon is do not influence in ashes consumption intention and word of mouth communication factor.

        특이한 악관절 강직증 : 진성 악관절 강직증과 상악골과 하악골 사이의 골성 유합

        TMJ ankylosis is classified with true and false type. A true ankylosis is defined as any condition that produces fibrous or bony adhesions between the articular surfaces of the temporomandibular joint. The main causes of true ankylosis are trauma or infection. A false ankylosis results from pathologic conditions outside the joint that limit mobility of the mandible such as myogenic disorders, coronoid impingement or rare direct bony fusion between maxilla and mandible. The treatment of choice of TMJ ankylosis is surgical intervention. We experienced the male patient with complete mouth opening limitation since 45 years before. This patient has true TMJ ankylosis and rare bony synostosis between maxilla and mandible in the right posterior region. We performed surgical intervention and had a favorable result.

        일차 양측성 구순열의 일단계 재건에 대한 증례보고

        Bilateral cleft lip reconstruction can be performed in one-or two-stages. The choice depends on the surgeon's proficiency and experience. However the type and severity of the cleft must be considered. Complete or incomplete symmetric, bilateral clefts in which the premaxilla is within the alveolar arch or slightly protruded can be successfully treated with simultaneous lip reconstruction on both sides. There are some advantages that one-stage lip reconstruction facilitates creation of a symmetric and balanced lip, retraction of protruding premaxilla and the parent's psychologic satisfaction. However, there are some disadvantages such as micrognathia of the upper jaw by severe scar formation and poor adaptation of flap margins by severe tension. The surgeon must be able to judge and exploit the advantages offered by one-stage approach. We present the case report of one-stage reconstruction of primary bilateral cleft lip with literature reviews.

        경기 일부지역 육용 양돈작업장의 분진 및 내독소 농도

        The aim of this study was to evaluate exposure to dust and endotoxin produced while working at swine confinement buildings. The dusts and endotoxin may cause adverse health effects on humans. Fourteen swine farms located at Yong-In, I-Cheon and Yeo-Ju of onggi-do were investigated. Husbandry workers form the farms were requested to wear personal sampler to measure respirable dust levels. Area samplings for total and respirable dust were also conducted at swine confinements buildings by season (summer under window open, winter under window close.) Gravimetric analyses and Limulus Amebocyte Lysate assay for measu- rement of dust level and endotoxin, respectively. The highest geometric mean (GM) concentration of airbome dusts was 7.47mg/㎡ for area respirable dust. and 10.35mg/㎡ for personal respirable dust. For respirable dust levels, seven farmers exceeded level of ACGIH, 3mg/㎥. The highest GM of endo- toxin was 5745.40 EU/㎥ for personal respirable dust. Significantly increased level of total dust (p〈0.001) and endotoxin in area total dust was observe with winter samples compared with those of summer. Area total dust and area respirable dust (r-0.622, p〈0.0001) was very significantly correlated in winter. Swine husbandry worker may have a considerable risk of ill health whenexposed to level of dust or endotoxin demonstrated at this study.

      • 살수여상공정을 이용한 돈사폐수의 처리에 관한 연구

        Tricking filter was not usually employed for the piggey wastewater treatment resulting from a high concentration of susfended solids(SS) and biochemical oxygen demand(BOD) in the piggery wastewater could hamper and efficient operation due to the frequent clogging problems. In order to minimize the clogging problem, the filtration process using strawcolumn was applied, as a pretreatment process, for SS redution. The prefiltered effluent was then treated in the laboratory tricking filters which used crused stone media. The experimental results showed that the overall removal efficiencies of BOD, chemical oxygen demend, and SS were 78, 75, and 90%, repectively, at the respective tricking filter gydraulic and organic loadings of 1.26㎡/㎡/day and 0.77kgBOD/㎡/day. The tricking filter constant, and reaction rate constant, k of the Eckenfelder equation were 0.6901 and 0.89, respectively, obtained from the experimental data.

        일부농촌지역의 농약사용실태 및 농약중독 요인 조사

        Object The usage of agricultural chemical is on the increasing. Use of pesticides has increased agricultural production. However, negative externalities from such use have increased too. Pesticide poisoning is a major public problem. The purpose if this study is to find out the relationship between keeping the safety rules or protective equipments or attending safety education or dose of pesticides use , and poisoning experience. Methods For Gu, H.M. and Pack, S.G. study , we obtained questionnaire data concerning pesticides poisoming. A person interviews on 203 were conducted in two villages in Sinmeari and woulbonri Chunchun , Kangwon province, July 2002. Result 1. 144 people(70.9%) have sprayed pesticides and the rata of experiences of pesticide poisoning was 26% among 144. Spraying time of pesticides was 1-2 hours in 63.9% of farmers. Rate of using the protective equipment was 25.7% (protective clothes), 49.3% (Mask), 48.6 (Gloves), 7.0 (Protective glasses), 64.6% (boots) respectively. 2. Chi-square and multiple logistic regression analysis showed that Duration of spraying per day (<2hr) and using of mask(protective equipment)are significantly association with poisoning experience.(x^2=5.2684 p=0.0217, CI=0.140-0.5853 OR=0.346 p=0.0211 respectively). But no association between poisoning experience and keeping safety rule, attending of safety education. 3. Spraying pesticides. Duration of spraying pesticides, reading manuals and no spraying at fatigue (keeping safety rule) are significantly association with symptom experience(x^2=14.0621 p=0.0002, x^2=7.0639 p=0.0079, CI01.395-10.950 OR=3.908 p=0.0095, CI=0.101-0.726 OR=0.271 0.0094 respectively). But no association between symptom experience and protective equipments, attending of safety education.

        HIERARCHICAL SCHEME OF VEHICLE DETECTION AND TRACKING IN NIGHTTIME URBAN ENVIRONMENT

        In this paper, we propose a novel hierarchical scheme for detection and tracking of vehicles using a vehiclemounted camera in nighttime under urban environment, where a vehicle can be represented by a pair of taillights and various types of lights are commonplace. The proposed scheme, therefore, mainly focuses on devising robust detection and pairing of taillights in spite of their inherent diversity and continuous transformation in appearance. Thus the appearance symmetry, which many conventional methods rely on, for paring is not guaranteed to be available all the times. Each of the three layers in the scheme is devised to identify a vehicle from individual lights and clutters detected in a hierarchical manner. Robust detection of a pair of taillights, which can be regarded as a vehicle, is sought by successive groupings of the components in a layer and checking not only the intra-layer but the inter-layer relations between them. A structural Kalman filter is employed to maintain the temporal consistency in the motion of the components and their relations as well. Exploiting such relational information increases accuracy in tracking of individual components by reducing effects from fluctuation in positions and shapes, and eventually compensating possible failures in detection of them. As a result, the proposed scheme achieves enhancement in detection and tracking of vehicles in nighttime as proven by experiments on videos including crowded urban traffic scenes.

        Poisoning in Korean Children and Adolescents

        Drug intoxication in children and adolescents is not uncommon in Korea. But the tendency of intoxication is changing with some factors, such as national surveillance system, Naderism and increasing concern among physicians. But the death rate of intoxication among adolescents is increasing in spite of decreasing total death rate of intoxication among children and adolescents. Therefore the physician must be concerned about the basic management of intoxication and figure out the common toxic substance among children and adolescents.

      • 복사 버너의 연소특성에 관한 실험적 연구

        Energy efficient and low pollution combustion systems the use gaseous fuels have been in great demand in recent year. Radiant burner in many different forms are emerging as very desirable combustion systems for same reason. Porous radiant burners are used in drying, preheating and curing, and in other type of materials processing and manufacturing processes. However, little knowledge is available about the operating characteristics and the structure of flames in porous ceramic fiber radiant burners. The objective of the present work is to investigate the global performance characteristics of the ceramic fiber burner. A detailed study which includes the spectral intensity, gas temperature, radiation efficiency and global pollutant emissions. Another objective is to study the flame structure of the ceramic fiber burner by measuring the local gas temperature. The results indicate that ceramic fiber burner do offer a 19-44% gain in radiant efficiency. The ceramic fiber burner exhibit significant spectral intensity peaks in the band at 2.0-2.5㎛. The local temperature distribution inside the mat and near the mat surface as a function of the equivalence ratio can be reasonably interpreted by the relation of the heat balance in the mat and movement of the reaction zone. Nox emission from ceramic fiber burner is less than 25ppm throughout the operating range.
