Purpose : To evaluate accuracy and reliability of program to measure facial soft tissue thickness using 3D computed tomographic images by comparing with direct measurement. Materials and Methods : One cadaver was scanned with a Helical CT with 3 mm slice thickness and 3 mm/sec table speed. The acquired data was reconstructed with 1.5 mm reconstruction interval and the images were transferred to a personal computer. The facial soft tissue thickness were measured using a program developed newly in 3D image. For direct measurement, the cadaver was cut with a bone cutter and then a ruler was placed above the cut side, The procedure was followed by taking pictures of the facial soft tissues with a high-resolution digital camera. Then the measurements were done in the photographic images and repeated for ten times. A repeated measure analysis of variance was adopted to compare and analyze the measurements resulting from the two different methods. Comparison according to the areas was analyzed by Mann-Whitney test. Results : There were no statistically significant differences between the direct measurements and those using the 3D images (p>0.05). There were statistical differences in the measurements on 17 points but all the points except 2 points showed a mean difference of 0.5 mm or less. Conclusion : The developed software program to measure the facial soft tissue thickness using 3D images was so accurate that it allows to measure facial soft tissues thickness more easily in forensic science and anthropology. Nonfunctioning pancreatic endocrine tumor is a rare disease without showing any specific clinical manifestations. Indolent growth of this tumor has a prognosis in between functioning endosrine tumor of pancreas and exocrine adenocarcinoma. We experienced a nonfunctioning pancreatic islet tumor in 59 year old male patient. 졸-겔법을 이용한 알루미나 코오팅막의 제조 및 특성에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to investigate preparation and the physical properties of alumina coating film by sol―gel method according to the various ratio of acid. In other to prove the crystalline phase transfer, pore size, surface area, pore distribution and coating thickness, XRD, BET and SEM analysis were examined. 1. Particle size of sols were the most small when acid added to 0.07㏖. Drying of sols were long as adding DCCA and as incresing the acid content. The more boehmite weight percent were incresed, the more viscosity of sols were strikingly incresing in pure sols but were gradually incresing in DCCA sols. The more acid content were incresed, the more viscosity of sols were incredsed. 2. Preparation of coating film without crack were possible at low boehmite weight percent and viscosity of sols were less than 3cps in pure sols and 5cps in DCCA sols. Weight and thickness of coating film according to the repetition coating, were linera incresed by repetition coating. By seven times coating, thickness of coating film was 8 μm. 3. Surface area, average pore size and pore volume were decresed as incresing the acid content. In pore distribution, the most pore existed range of 20∼70Å. 4. Phase transition of alumina according to the thermal treatment temperature appeared γ―Al_2O_3 at 600℃, δ―Al_2O_3 and θ―Al_2O_3 at 600∼1000℃ and α―Al_2O_3 at 1200℃.

휘발성 유기화합물의 일종인 사염화탄소는 성층권에서 클로린 라디칼에 의한 오존층 파괴에 촉매작용을 하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 일반적인 사염화탄소의 처리 기술은 크게 다음의 세가지 기술로서, (1)직접 열분해 방법, (2) 촉매를 이용한 열분해 방법, (3)촉매를 이용한 탈염소수소화 반응이 있으며, hydrodechlorination반응은 수소화 반응에 보편적으로 사용되는 백금계 촉매를 사용하여 100~200oC의 낮은 반응 온도에서 이루어지므로 에너지 소비가 적으며 2차 오염원이 발생하지 않는 장점이 있다.
선인장 양심실 보조장치의 설계 및 임상적용을 위한 평가

현재 개발되고 있는 맥동형 이식형 인공심장은 완전이식형 인공심장과 좌심실보조장치 뿐이다. 좌심실보조장치를 장착한 환자의 10~15%가 우심실의 보조를 필요로하고 완전이식형 인공심장의 장착을 위해서는 자연심장을 제거해야하는 상황에서 이식형 양심실보조장치에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구진은 완전이식형 인공심장으로 개발된 한국형 인공심장을 개선하여 양심 실 보조장치를 개발하였다. 양심실보조장치는 이동형 작동기식 미케니즘을 이용하고 있으며 에너지 변환장치와 감속기로 구성된 작동기와 혈액주머니, 그리고 내장형 제어기로 구성되어 있다. 선인장 펌프로 명명된 KAH350은 캐뉼라의 연결을 위한 커넥터를 포함하여 길이 177mm, 폭 164mm, 높이 67 이고 무게 780g이며 최대 심박출량은 5L/min 이다. 양심실보조장치로 개발된 선인장펌프는 좌심실보조장치로도 응용이 가능하다. 이식적합성과 생체적합성을 평가하기 위하여 좌심실보조장치로 5회, 양싱실보조장치로 6회의 동물실험을 수행하였다. 각각 최장 28일간 생존하였으며 11회의 동물실험중 장치의 결함에 의한 것이 3회 있었는데 이들은 모두 전자장치의 결함과 방수처리문제였다. 현재 이식적합성과 일박출량을 향상시킨 KAH400모델이 개발중이다. The types of pulsatile implantable artificial hearts that are on the way of development and have been developed are totally implantable artificial heart and implantable left ventricular assist device (LVAD). Approximately 10% to 15% of all patients Implanted with wearable VADs have required right heart support with another device. And it is reluctant to patient who should remove his or her own heart to be implanted with total artificial heart. These situations drive the development of implantable bi-ventricular assist device (BVAD). The Korean BVAD was develophed by modifying the moving actuator type Korean artificial heart. This electro-mechanical BVAD comprises actuator including energy converter and reduction gear train, blood sacs, and internal motor and energy controllers. The KAH350 which is named as 'Cactus Pump' is 177mm in length, 164mm in width, and 67mm in thickness including connectors and nuts. The weight and maximum cardiac output of Cactus Pump is 780g and 5L/min, respectively. The Cactus Pump that was developed as BVAD could be used as LVAD by attaching compliance caps on the 2 ports of one ventricle. The animal experiments were undergone 5 times for LVAD, and 6 times for BVAD. The best records were 28 days survival in both applications. There were 3 times of device failure and they were all associated with electrical connection and hermetic sealing. The KAH400 that has improved anatomical fitting characterisitcs and stroke volume is on development.

Standard open procedures for resection of the first rib in thoracic outlet syndrome can prove to be quite difficult with extensive incisions. A minimal invasive procedure can also be painstaking, but provides an attractive alternative to the more radical open procedures. We report the details of the technique with direct video footage of the procedure performed in a 41-year-old man with thoracic outlet syndrome done entirely by thoracoscopic methods. To establish the transmission system expansion plan based on reliability, valuation of outage cost become more important. In previous studies about outage cost estimation, macroscopic, microscopic and analytic methods are proposed but they have some limit. For instance, microscopic method involves a complex field survey process and macroscopic method can not estimate regional outage cost. So in this paper, a new method to estimate regional macroscopic outage cost using the reduction of value added due to power outages is proposed. This method uses regional add value according to production activities called Gross Regional Domestic Product(GRDP) and regional electricity sales.
