황인아 ( Hwang¸ Inah ),김인경 ( Kim¸ In Kyung ) 부산대학교 과학교육연구소 2020 교사교육연구 Vol.59 No.4
In this study, we conducted the TPI test on two middle school mathematics teachers to confirm their different teaching perspectives and analyzed the differences in mathematics classes according to the teaching perspective. As a result, we have two conclusions. First, it was found that the teachers with different teaching perspectives were conducting different classes. The teacher with a transmission-oriented teaching perspective, received high scores on instructional strategies and mathematical content among the class evaluation factors, but received low scores on problem solving and communication. The teacher with a nurturing-oriented teaching perspective, received a high score in the evaluation factor for learning environment and communication, and the lowest score for mathematical content. Second, the teacher with a nurturing teaching perspective was better practiced than the transmission teaching perspective as he used his own video instructional materials and conducting student activity-based lessons in real classes

We investigate teachers’ decision making in contexts where they could choose to provide students more authentic experiences with proving. Specifically, we investigate their preferences to depart from norms about what proof problems to assign to students. Scenario-based instruments consisting of two sets of items reflecting two hypothesized norms in doing geometric proofs, the given and prove norm and the diagrammatic register norm, were used to operationalize teachers’ preference to depart from instructional norms in order to increase students’ share of labor. By applying a diagnostic classification model (DCM) to classify teachers with respect to their depart from two norms, this study shows that teachers’ decisions depend on the norm at issue. To examine individual factors associated with preference profiles, we use scores of teachers’ mathematical knowledge for teaching, beliefs on the importance of student autonomy, and confidence in mathematics teaching. This study also illustrates methodological benefits of a DCM model in estimating a binary construct (i.e., teachers’ preference), which has more than one sub-construct, with a small number of items.
Wnt/β-catenin Signaling: A Novel Target for Therapeutic Intervention of Fibrotic Kidney Disease
Inah Hwang,Eun-young Seo,Hunjoo Ha 대한약학회 2009 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.32 No.12
Fibrosis of epithelial parenchymal organs and end-stage organ failure, the final common pathway of many progressive chronic diseases including chronic kidney disease, continue to increase worldwide and are a major determinant of morbidity and mortality. Fibrosis is an active biosynthetic healing response initiated to protect the tissue from injury through the timed release of proteins but leads to serious tissue damage when it becomes independent from the initiating stimulus. Massive deposition of extracellular matrix by accumulation of myofibroblasts and disruption of the normal tissue architecture are characteristic of tissue fibrosis. The highly conserved Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway is essential to embryonic development in general and kidney morphogenesis in particular by regulating the expression of target genes, most often through the transcription factor T cell factor (TCF) and/or lymphoid enhancer factor (LEF). Emerging evidence from studies of renal fibrosis suggests that altered Wnt/β-catenin signaling is linked to the pathogenesis of renal fibrosis. The renoprotective properties of some currently available drugs might be attributable in part to inhibition of Wnt signaling. The development of orally active Wnt modulators will provide a potentially important pharmacological tool for further investigating the role of Wnt/β-catenin signaling and might offer a novel therapeutic strategy in renal fibrosis.
The Relationship between the Occupational Exposure of Trichloroethylene and Kidney Cancer
Inah Kim,Jaehyeok Ha,June-Hee Lee,Kye-mook Yoo,Jaehoon Rho 대한직업환경의학회 2014 대한직업환경의학회지 Vol.26 No.-
Trichloroethylene (TCE) has been widely used as a degreasing agent in many manufacturing industries. Recently, the International Agency for Research on Cancer presented “sufficient evidence” for the causal relationship between TCE and kidney cancer. The aim of this study was to review the epidemiologic evidences regarding the relationship between TCE exposure and kidney cancer in Korean work environments. The results from the cohort studies were inconsistent, but according to the meta-analysis and case?control studies, an increased risk for kidney cancer was present in the exposure group and the dose?response relationship could be identified using various measures of exposure. In Korea, TCE is a commonly used chemical for cleaning or degreasing processes by various manufacturers; average exposure levels of TCE vary widely. When occupational physicians evaluate work-relatedness kidney cancers, they must consider past exposure levels, which could be very high (>100 ppm in some cases) and associated with jobs, such as plating, cleaning, or degreasing. The exposure levels at a manual job could be higher than an automated job. The peak level of TCE could also be considered an important exposure-related variable due to the possibility of carcinogenesis associated with high TCE doses. This review could be a comprehensive reference for assessing work-related TCE exposure and kidney cancer in Korea.
microRNA-25 as a novel modulator of circadian Period2 gene oscillation
Inah Park,김도연,김정아,Sangwon Jang,Mijung Choi,최한경,최영식,김경진 생화학분자생물학회 2020 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.52 No.-
Circadian clock controls an organism’s biological rhythm and regulates its physiological processes in response to external time cues. Most living organisms have their own time-keeping mechanism that is maintained by transcriptional–translational autoregulatory feedback loops involving several core clock genes, such as Period. Recent studies have found the relevance between the modulation of circadian oscillation and posttranscriptional modifications by microRNAs (miRNAs). However, there are limited studies on candidate miRNAs that regulate circadian oscillation. Here, we characterize the functions of novel miRNA-25 regulating circadian Period2 (Per2) expression. Using several in silico algorithms, we identified novel miR-25-3p that, together with miR-24-3p, targets the Per2 gene. Luciferase reporter assays validated that miR-25-3p and miR-24-3p repressed Per2 expression and confirmed their predicted binding sites in the 3′-untranslated region (UTR) of Per2 mRNA. Real-time bioluminescence analyses using Per2::Luc mouse embryonic fibroblasts confirmed that PER2 protein oscillation patterns were responsive to miR-25-3p and miR-24-3. The overexpression of miR-25-3p or miR-24-3p resulted in the dampening and period shortening of the PER2::LUC oscillation, while inhibition of either miRNA increased the relative amplitude of the PER2::LUC oscillation. Notably, endogenous miR-25-3p expression in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) showed no circadian rhythmicity, but the expression levels differed in various brain regions and peripheral tissues. These results suggest that the posttranscriptional regulation of miR-25-3p and miR-24-3p may differ according to Per2 gene expression in different tissue regions. In summary, we found that novel miR-25-3p was involved in fine-tuning circadian rhythmicity by regulating Per2 oscillation at the posttranscriptional level and that it functioned synergistically with miR-24-3p to affect Per2 oscillation.
