      • 加里, 燐酸 및 石灰 施用量의 差異가 大豆의 生育 및 收量에 미치는 影響

        In order to investigate the effects of P, K, and Ca fertilization on the growth and yield of late sown soybean, cultivar Clark # 36 was examined with 9 different fertilization levels by the randomized block design replicated 4 times under the field and pot conditions, and following results were obtained. 1. Growth in field and pot conditions a. The highest stem and canopy were observed at the level of 4 to 8㎏/10a for the P, and K fertilization under the condition of lime application. b. The stem and canopy were higher in the field condition than in the pot condition. c. The P, K fertilization of 4 to 8㎏/10a was effective for the branch growth under the condition of Ca application. d. The P, K and Ca fertilization did not affect the number of brancesh, diameter of stem, and number of nodes on main stem. e. The longer branch, the thicker stem, the more number of branches and nodes on main stem were observed in the pot trial than in the field trial. 2. Dry matter production in field condition a. The leaf to stem ratio was not affected by the P, K, and Ca fertilization. b. D.M. wt. was increased in accodance with increasing the fertilization level of P, K under the condition of lime application. c. SLA and LAI were increased by the increase of the P, and K fertilization level under liming condition. d. CGR, RGR and NAR were increased in accordance with increasing the P, K, level up to 8㎏/10 a under the liming condition. e. The amounts of N, P, and K absorbed during the growing period were also increased due to increase of the P, K level up to 4 to 8㎏/10a a under the condition of lime fertilization. 3. Yield and yield components in field and pot trial a. The stem wt. was increased by the increasing of P, K level up to 8 ㎏/10a under the condition of liming. b. The pod weight and grain weight were increased by the increasing of P, K fertilization level up to 4 to 8㎏/10a with liming. c. The effect of P, K on the stem grain percentage couldn't be recognized. The stem grain percentage was higher in the pot trial than in the field trial. d. The pod number per plant was increased in accordance with increasing of the P, K fertilization level with liming. The more pod number per plant was obtained from the pot trial compared with the field trial. e. The number of ovules per pod was not affected by the fertilization. The more ovules per pod was obtained from the pot culture compared with the field culture. f. The grain number per plant was increased by the P, and K fertilization of 4 to 8㎏/10a with liming. The more grain number per plant was obtained from the pot condition compared with the field condition. g. The ripend seed percentage was highest at 4 to 8㎏/10a of the P, and K fertilization level. It was higher in the pot condition than in the field condition. h. The 100 grain weight was also increased by the P, and K fertilization of 4 to 8㎏/10a. It was heavier in the field condition than in the pot condition. i. There was a tendency that soybean plants need an ample supply of balanced nutrient elements (not single element only) for the yield increase.

        북극 스발바드 군도 스피츠베르겐섬 콩스피요르드에서의 다환 방향족 탄화수소화합물의 분포 특성

        In order to elucidate the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon concentration and its origin in arctic area, four arctic brown algae (Laminaria saccharina, L. digita, Alaria esculenta, Desmarestia aculeata), one marine invertebrate (Echinoidea) and sediments were collected from Kongsfjorden in Spitsbergen from the late July to early August. 2003. In case of macroalgae, the young blade part above growth point and the old stipes and blades beneath growth point were separated and analyzed for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in an attempt to check the mechanism of uptake in macroalgae to accumulate PAN. There was no difference in PAH concentrations between sampling sites (Stations B and C), species. and blades beneath and above growth point. PAH concentrations in all samples collected in this study were relatively higher than those reported in other areas of arctic. Especially, station C, which is known as an unpolluted area, showed 10 times higher PAH concentration (8,765 ng/g) in sediment than station A (694 ng/g) around harbor. In addition high PAH concentration, station C had very higher proportion of methylated PAH to parent PAH in sediment than station A. Source analysis using PAH isomer pair ratios as indicators showed that Kongsfjorden area seemed to be relatively contaminated with PAH derived from direct petroleum input.

      • 대도시 지역주민의 흡연실태와 관련요인 분석

        To collect basic data for deveoping education program for quitting smoking, 1200 subjects were selected randomly living in Seoul, Pusan, Taegu and suburban areas and interviewed about their smoking habits and attitudes from June 20 to July 20, 1997. The result of this study was summarized as follows: 1. In the general characterisics of subjects, the proportion of female was the higher(53.8%) than that of male. Among them, the portion of twenties was 46.6%. in level of educational background, the rate of college graduates was 45.2%, that of high school was 35.7%, that of middle school was 11.5%. The highest proportion by occupation was 38.9% of student. The next was 11.7% of technician, 10.1% of unemployed, 9.4% of office worker and 9.3% of salesman. 2. The proportion of the smokers among subjects was 34.3%. The portion of male smokers was 65.7%, that of female smokers was 7.3%, which had tendency to increased. At the rate of smoking by age, 47.6% in over fifties, 43.6% in forties and 38.7% in thirties were showed that the rate of smoking was the higher in the older age. 3. In the quantity of smoking cigarettes, the rate of one park of cigarettes per day was 52.7%, that of a half pack was 31.1% and that of over two 53.2% and that in female was 59.1% which was highest. 4. In smoking period, the rate of smokers for over 20 years was 29.7%, that for 1-4 years was 25.1% and that for 5-9 years was 20.9%. The variables of age, marital status, educational level and occupation were statistically significant(p<0.01). 5. In the intention of quitting smoking, 48.0% of subjects wanted to stop smoking, 33.4% of them wanted to reduce amounts of cigarettes and 82.8% fo them had positive intention to stop smoking, on the other side 18.6% of subjects did not have any intention to stop smoking. 6. The proportion of subjects who tried to stop smoking was 67.9%. By characteristics, the rate of 67.9% in male, 27.3% in female, 90.9% in under nineteens, 73.6% in married group 69.4% in lower social class, 77.8% in high school graduated and 72.3% in Buddist was the higher than that of other groups. 7. The proportion of subjects who succeeded in quitting smoking was 12.0%. By characteristics, the rate of 40.2% in male, 34.8% in over 50 years old, 19.7% in married group, 15.4% in lower social class, 13.9% in apartment resident, 15.7% in high school graduate and 17.1% in Buddist was the higher than that of other group. 8. In the reason of quitting smoking, 81.0% of subjects had quitted smoking for health, 6.0% of them for religion and 13.0% of them for others. By characteristics, the rate of reason for health was 83.5% in male, 100.0% in age of forties, 84.6% in lower social class. 9. In the affecting factors of quitting smoking, 40.7% of subjects was influenced on family which was the highest, 29.6% of them on health education, 14.8% of them on friend's recommandation, 9.9% of them on medical doctor's advice and 4.9% of them on campaign. By age, twenties was affected by friend, thirties by health education and forties by family. 10. The most affecting independent variable of smoking was sexuality (β=0.42055), age(β=0.25285), drinking (β=0.15425), marital status and health condition(R²=44.8%). These results were shown that education program for quitting smoking especially emphasized injurious to health should be continued in the unit of family, school, office and society, particularly education program for female should be strengthened.

      • 성장호르몬 분비성 뇌하수체 선종에서 소마토스타틴 수용체 (제2아형, 제5아형), G_i2α 및 Pit-1 유전자 발현

        Background: Mutation of Gs protein subunit (gsp oncogene), detected in about 30∼40% of growth hormone (GH)-secreting pituitary tumors, is associated with an increased long-acting somatostatin analog octreotide sensitivity. However, the mRNA expression of somatostatin receptor (sst) was not changed in the GH-secreting pituitary tumor, regardless of whether they were gsp oncogene positive or negative. This suggests that the expression of genes coding for G_i2α, Pit-1 and the other factors involved in the regulation of secretory activity in somatotrophs is likely to be altered in gsp oncogene positive tumors. We observed the impact of the gsp oncogene on the expression of the genes coding for Gi2, Pit-1 and sst (2&5) in GH-secreting pituitary tumors. Methods: The GH response to octreotide was examined in 13 acromegalic patients before transsphenoidal adenomectomy. Genomic DNA and RNA were extracted from fresh frozen tumor tissues. PCR was performed to amplify and sequence the region between codon 184 and 251 that includes exons 8 and 9 of the Gs gene. Sst2, sst5, G_i2α and Pit-1 mRNA levels were measured by semi-quantitative RT-PCR. Results: Sst2 and sst5 mRNA transcripts were detected in all tumors (7 gsp +, 6 gsp-). The amount of sst transcripts varied considerably varied between the tumors. There were no significant differences in sex, age, tumor size, grade or basal GH levels. Pit-1 and sst2 mRNA levels were not different. In contrast, G_i2 mRNA levels were significantly higher in gsp (+) while sst5 mRNA levels were higher in gsp (-). Conclusion: These data suggests that gsp oncogene may increase Gi2α levels but decrease sst5 mRNA levels. However, Pit-1 and sst2 mRNA expression may not be affected by gsp oncogene. The increased expression of the G_i2α gene might be an inhibitory compensatory response to the action of gsp oncogene

      • 대학생의 노인복지에 대한 인식도

        The purpose of this study is to grasp the change of consciousness of young people in order to seek new approach of policy for aged era. 1,200 students attending collages and universities in three small or medium sized cities were inquired for 2 months, from October 1 to November 30, 1996. The result is as follows. 1. The characteristic of the respondents of this survey is that they include 72.1% of women, 40.4% of people aged between 20 to 21, and 49.1% of people who do not have any religion. Those who are from big cities and those who are form farming villages or fishing village occupy equally 40.2%, those who reside in that cities for a long period 49.0%, and those who live with their family 60.9%. 2. The family feature of the subject is that 31.5% of them are those whose father is the age of 55 and more than 55, 10% of them are those whose mothers age is so, 33.1% of them have 5 family members, 29.5% of them have the family income of 1,000,000 to 1,490,000 won, 83.9% of them are from middle class, 47.7% of them are the people whose grand parents have passed away, 70.4% of them live apart from their grand parents, and 60.9% of them are second child. 3. 64.0% of males, 70% of respondents who are aged over 24, 58.1% of respondents who are from rural communities, 62.4% of respondents who live in rural area, and 58.3% of respondents who live alone, prefer to live with grand parents, marked higher rate than other groups. The groups whose father and mother are the age of more than 55 marked higher rate of 55.9% and 58% each than any other groups(p<0.05). The groups whose family member is less than three, whose grand parents both have passed away in middle class, who live with their grand parents, and who are second children, give more positive answers than any other groups. 4. Those who are older, who are buddhists, who are from rural area or live in rural area, whose family is small, whose family income is small, who are from lower class and whose grand parents are still alive, shows preference to support their parents after marriage. 5. Females(89.4%), those who are from small or medium sized cities(89%), who live with their family(85.6%), whose father is the age of 55 and more than 55, whose mother is the age of 54 and less than 54, whose family member is 6, who are from middle class, whose grandparents are still alive and who are the eldest child in their family, give more response that they prefer to live apart from their children in their old age than any other groups. 6. What elderly people need most right now is past time(42.3%), and the respondents whose age is 20 to 21, who are buddhists, who are from middle sized cities and live alone, whose parents are the age of more than 55, who have small family income, who live with their grand parents and who are second children show higher level than any other groups. 7. 76.8% of respondents answer that they do not need their parent's fortune, marked still higher rate than the opposite answer. Those who are older, who are buddhists, who are from big cities, who reside in rural area, who live alone and have smaller family, who are in bad family economic conditions and who live with grand parents present higher rate of positive response. 8. 59.3% of respondents reply that they think about death from time to time, and those who are female, who are in the age of 20 to 21, who are christian, who live with their family, whose siblings or other family members offer their education expenses show higher rate than any other groups. 9. 92.3% of respondents answer that the budget for welfare facility for elderly people is very small. The younger the respondents are and the worse economic condition they have among those who live in big cities, the more answered that. 10. 50% of respondents think social security should provide for their old age, and 42.8% of them believe they themselves provide against it. The respondence that social security ought provide for it appeared more among those whose age are over 24, who are female, who reside in rural area, who are christian, who are in bad economic condition, and who ever used medical institutions in recent one month, marked higher level than other groups. 11. The adequate time of retirement is 59.97±5.60 for public officers, the highest and 59.28±6.35 for teachers, the next. 12. 35.2% of respondents reply that the adequate budget for the old age after their retirement at the age of 60 is 220 million won, showed the highest level of respondence. 13. The factors which affect on the old people in the charged welfare facilities are sex(p<0.01), the type of housing(p<0.05) and whole family income(p<0.05). 14. The factors which affect on remarriage are sex(p<0.05) and religion(p<0.05). For varying old population and expanded welfare service for them, government and relevant authority should give more attention to secure the budget, establish effective plans to expand various program and the facilities for elderly people in order that elderly people spend the rest of life time more happily and more fruitfully. To do that, each college and university should open Health courses, and educate and inform about health and welfare.

        내원시 저혈당이 당뇨병을 동반한 심근경색증 환자의 예후에 미치는 영향

        목적: 당뇨병 환자에게 철저한 혈당 조절은 논란의 여지가 있으며, 이에 당뇨병을 동반한 급성 심근경색증 환자의 내원 시 저혈당과 병원 내 주요 임상 사건 및 사망률 그리고 추적관찰 1년간 사망률과의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 2005년 11월부터 2012년 3월까지 KAMIR에 등록된 당뇨병이 동반된 급성 심근경색증 환자 5,249명을 혈당 수치에 따라서 저혈당을 보인 환자(≤ 70 mg/dL)를 I군(93명, 72.6± 11.0세, 여성 46.2%), 정상혈당을 보인 환자(> 70 and < 140)를 II군(1,262명, 71.3 ± 10.7, 여성 34.3%), 고혈당을 보인 환자(≥ 140)를 III군(3,894명, 70.3 ± 11.1, 여성 36.0%)으로 분류하여, 병원 내 주요 임상사건 및 1년 후 사망률과의 관계를 비교하였다. 결과: 각 군의 평균 연령은 I군(72.6 ± 11.0세), II군(71.3 ±10.7세), III군(70.3 ± 11.1세)으로 I군에서 연령이 높았다(p =0.006). I군에서 내원 시 비전형적인 증상 양상(p = 0.002), Killip class III-IV (p = 0.003), 심초음파을 이용한 좌심실 구혈률 40% 미만의 환자(p = 0.002), NSTEMI가 많았다(p = 0.001). 전체 대상 환자 5,249명 중 344명(6.6%)이 입원 중 사망하였으며, 이 중에서 I군 12명(12.9%), II군 66명(5.2%), III군 266명(6.8%)으로 I군에서 사망률이 유의하게 높았다(p = 0.006).다변량 회귀분석에서 나이(p = 0.001), Killip class III-IV (p =0.001), 뇌혈관 질환(p = 0.002), 만성 신부전증(p = 0.001), 급성 신부전증(p = 0.001), 심인성 쇼크(p = 0.001), 심실성 빈맥증(p = 0.005), 좌심실 구혈률 40% 미만(p = 0.001), 내원시 혈당 70 mg/dL 미만(p = 0.005)은 추적관찰 한 달간 사망률에 독립적인 예측인자이었다. 정상 혈당군에 비하여 저혈당 군에서 사망률이 유의하게 증가하였고(OR 3.571, 95% CI1.465-8.705, p = 0.005). 고혈당군에 비해 저혈당군에서 사망률이 유의하게 증가하였다(OR 4.088, 95% CI 1.757-9.511, p= 0.001). 그러나 추적관찰 1년간에서 내원시 혈당은 사망률의 유의한 예측인자가 아니었다(p = 0.428). 결론: 당뇨병을 동반한 심근경색증 환자의 내원 시 저혈당은 입원중과 추적관찰 한 달간의 사망률을 예측할 수 있는 예후인자였다. Methods: We analyzed 5,249 diabetic patients who enrolled in the Korean Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry from November 2005 to March 2013. The patients were divided into three groups according to their blood glucose level at admission; Group I:hypoglycemia (≤ 70 mg/dL), Group II: normoglycemia (70-140 mg/dL) and Group III: hyperglycemia (≥ 140 mg/dL). We assessed in-hospital mortality and the major adverse cardiac events based on blood glucose levels at admission. Results: The mean age was older in group I at 72.6 ± 11.0 years compared to 71.3 ± 10.7 in group II and 70.3 ± 11.1 in group III (p < 0.006). A total of 344 patients died during hospitalization. In-hospital mortality was higher in group I at 12.9%, compared to 5.2% in group II and 6.8% in group III (p < 0.006). Multivariable logistic regression analysis determined that the independent predictors of 1-month mortality were age, Killip class III-IV, cerebrovascular disease, chronic renal failure, acute renal failure, cardiogenic shock, ventricular tachycardia, ejection fraction < 40% and hypoglycemia in admission. The mortality rate at 1 month was significantly higher in group I compared to group II (odds ratio [OR] 3.571; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.465-8.705, p = 0.005) compared to group II and group III (OR 4.088; 95% CI 1.757-9.511, p = 0.001). Conclusions: Hypoglycemia on admission was an important predictor of in-hospital and one-month mortality in AMI patients with diabetes mellitus. (Korean J Med 2014;87:565-573)

      • In-vitro and In-vivo Anti-hyperglycemic Effects of Nipa palm (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) Extract

        In this study, Nipa palm extract by solvent were investigated for their anti-hyperglycemic and using in-vitro, in-vivo animal models. In-vitro study, we investigated the inhibitory activities of Nipa palm stems and flower extracts by solvent against various digestive enzymes such as α-glucosidase, sucrase, maltase, and glucoamylase. In addition, α-amylase inhibitory activity, oxygen radical absorbance capacity, total phenolic and flavonoid content were measured. Among solvent extract, stem water extract (SWE) had the highest α-glucosidase inhibitory activity (3.6 mg/ml of IC50) and high sucrase inhibitory activity (0.28 mg/ml IC50). Furthermore, the extracts were investigated for in-vivo post-prandial blood anti-hyperglycemic effect using Sprague-Dawley(SD) rat model. The maximum blood glucose concentration(Cmax) in SWE-treated SD-rat (0.5 g-ΚBE/kg-bw) was significantly lower than in untreated SD-rats (199.9±10.4 vs. 222.0±15.4 hr·mg/dL, p<0.05). These results indicate that SWE may improve exaggerated post-prandial spikes in blood glucose via inhibition of intestinal α-glucosidase and thus delays carbohydrate absorption in colon.

        한국합창음악에 나타난 국악적 요소에 관한 연구

        This dissertation is on how Korean traditional music elements and choral music are combined and expressed in Korean Choral music. In other words, this article explores how Korean traditional music elements mix with Western music`s basic elements of melodic line, rhythm and harmony to form the identity of Korean composer`s artistic elements, how these elements create the musical effect through choir, and how vibration forms the choral music quality. The examples in this study are choral music works primarily composed for professional choirs by In-Yong La (professor emeritus of composition at College of Music, Yonsei University), Jung-Sun Park (professor emeritus of composition at College of Music, Dankook University) and Geon-Yong Lee (professor of composition at School of Music, Korea National University of Arts). I plan to use the choral works recommended by the composer himself. The Korean traditional music qualities such as sonority, timbre and other musical elements in the previously mentioned composers` works can only be notated through Western music notation. Western music accurately notates the melody, harmony, and rhythm which form the basis of the player`s musical interpretation. However, when compared with Western music`s score and performance, Korean traditional music is quantifiable like the Western music but the extent to how the music is articulated varies largely on the player`s skill and musical interpretation. Thus, the player can only accurately express the ambience of Korean traditional music used in the composers work when he comprehends the Korean traditional music`s qualities and applies them well. To define the Korean traditional music elements, this study investigates how the rhythm (which bases on Korean traditional melody, scale, and rhythm) is expressed through harmony (which is based on Western music), in the above composer`s choral works to express the Korean timbre and sonority.

        Discriminative detection of indoor volatile organic compounds using a sensor array based on pure and Fe-doped In<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> nanofibers

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Representative indoor volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as benzene, xylene, toluene, formaldehyde, and ethanol need to be detected in a highly sensitive and discriminative manner because of their different impact on human health. In this study, pure and 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 at% Fe-doped In<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning and their gas sensing characteristics toward the aforementioned VOCs were investigated. The doping of In<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> nanofiber sensor with 0.05 and 0.1 at% Fe shifted the temperature to show the maximum responses to benzene, xylene, and toluene, and reduced responses to ethanol and formaldehyde, thus demonstrating changed gas selectivity. The gas sensing characteristics of 0.5 at% Fe-doped In<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> nanofiber sensor were substantially different from those of the other sensors. Significantly different gas sensing patterns of pure and Fe-doped In<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> sensors could be used to discriminate between the five different VOCs at 375 °C and to distinguish between the aromatic and non-aromatic gases at all sensing temperatures.         This study was carried out to test the body fat breakdown during topical seaweed extract treatment and in combination with the aerobic exercise. Of 20 female obesity subjects, ten treated a cream types of seaweed extract(control group) and ten treated a placebo cream(placebo group). Topical treatment of each sample was designed for 4 weeks, and treated with 2 times a day about 10ml on the abdomen and the thigh, respectively. All subjects were participated aerobic dance half hour a day and four times a week. After 4 weeks of topical treatment and exercise, they were measured body fat, skinfold thickness, body circumference. Then venous blood samples were taken and analyzed blood cells, serum enzymes, and serum lipids. There were reduction of body weight, % of body fat, antebrachium, brachium, chest, waist, thigh circumference and abdomen thickness between pre and post treatment in both group. Especially, body weight and % of body fat significantly reduced in the subjects treating the seaweed extract than those treating the placebo. There were significant decrement in total cholesterol and LDL whereas increment in HDL and TBIL in the control group, but no significant difference in the placebo group. In conclusion, there were 7.6% of body fat reduction during 4 weeks of aerobic exercise and 21% of body fat reducement in combination of topical seaweed treatment and exercise, respectively. These results suggest that the topical treatment of seaweed extract should be very effective for fat breakdown. Especially, the body fat breakdown maximized in the combination with the topical seaweed extracts treatment and the aerobic exercise.
