        대전광역시 양축농가의 축분뇨 관리 실태 및 VOCs 농도 조사

        This study was carried out to investigate the style of livestock house, concentration of malodorous substances of livestock feces and livestock houses in Daejeon area. Among the livestock houses investigated, as most of cow pens(94.5%) have sawdust or chaff on the bottom, there was no leakage of feces out of pen. Most pig pens adopted slury style, but some of them currently use buffering material on the bottom. It is thought that there will be no possible contamination leakage. When it comes to hen house, all the broiler house use litters on the bottom and all the layer house use scrapper. It is also thought that there will be no possible contamination leakage. 3 out of 12 deer pens used buffering material on the bottom, 10 places were maintained in a traditional method, and 7 places left possibility of contamination leakage considering whether the roof was installed or not. The contents of ammonia, amine and volatile fatty acid in fresh feces were lower compared to rotten feces, but the concentration of sulfur-containing matter - hydrogen sulfide, methylmercapthan and ethylmercapthan were higher compared to rotten feces. In the case of malodorous ingredient in livestock houses, only small amount of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide were detected in pig pen and hen house, and other ingredients were not detectable. And those who are engaged in animal husbandry reacted negatively to the use of feed additives for decreasing malodor. In conclusion, it is not worrisome that contamination can be leaked out of animal raising facilities. But if we take into consideration that the point of investigation time is wintry season, there should be more considerate attitude. And feed additives for decreasing malodor need establishing criteria in the manufacturing process.

      • 폐 섬유 보강 복합재의 제조와 마찰특성

        Fiber-reinforced composite materials are used in a wide variety of applications in the advanced field of industries such as electric clutch, motor, car, space and aviation etc. It is well known that the brake lining made of fiber-reinforced composites show excellent friction and wear properties compared to the conventional asbestos brakes and also are known to have high absorption energy and excellent high temperature properties in braking. In order to endow high friction and wear stability to the commercial brake lining, the waste fiber such as cotton, PAN, PET, nylon,kevlar, glass and it's binary mixture fibers were used the fiber reinforcements. The fiber/phenolic resin system has been carried out by preform molding method. The friction tester was especially designed and prepared for evaluation of frictional properties such as friction coefficient and stability. The physical properties of fiber reinforced composites were investigated in terms of the 3-point bending strength, the properties of friction, and morphology. The results obtained from the work are as follows ; 1. The friction properties of the cotton fiber reinforced composites were similar to those of the commercial brake linings, but in the cases of reinforcement of kevlar, glass. we can improve those properties, 2. The proper amount of organic and inorganic fiber mixtures can improve the properties of friction and the mechanical properties, 3. It is more desirable to manufacture hybrid fiber reinforced composites because single cotton or synthetic fiber reinforced composites aren't improved frictional properties, and 4. On evaluating frictional properties of waste fiber reinforced composites, frictional properties of waste fiber reinforced composites are superior to commercial disc lining. Therefore we can confirm practical possibility of waste fiber reinforced disc lining.

      • Ownership Structure of Northeast Asian Countries

        1 In the first paper “Determinants of Corporate Ownership Structure and their effects on Corporate Governance in South Korea” by Shin-Il Kang, Korea’s unique characteristics, specifically the ownership structure and corporate governance are examined. The author takes a broad perspective by incorporating corporate culture, business leadership, and ownership structure in Korean corporation. Furthermore, he discusses the substitutability of Korean specific features given the rapidly changing economic environment. Under the Korea’s Chaebol structure, controlling shareholders, who are the real owner of firms, have exercised ownership rights while having a large proportion of shares aided by cross shareholdings. This has been possible through the pyramid ownership control structure as well as cross-shareholding among subsidiaries. Market circumstances related to management costs are not favorable to the firm with a dispersed ownership structure. In Korea, that’s the reason why ownership is concentrated. Given such a structure, the owners minimize costs related to management’s risks. Furthermore it proposes that leadership(firm culture) and ownership are substitutes. Concentrated ownership is needed when the leadership is not mature like Korean Chaebol. 2 The second paper “Issues in Japanese Corporate Governance” by Peter Drysdale examines some of the major issues of Japanese corporate governance today. The role of that main bank in corporate governance and inter corporate shareholding has been well documented. Although Japanese banks have rigorously monitored firms and have had an enormous influence on firms’ decisions and strategies through the owning of shares, firm performance under such a main bank system has not always been positive. Opposing views and their rationale regarding the pessimism behind the performance of firms in the main bank system are also explained in this paper. 3 The paper “Corporate Governance in China” by In Kie Hong discusses the current status and the restructuring efforts of China’s corporate governance. In China, state shareholders possess strong control rights over listed companies allowing them to exercise control even beyond their proportion of shareholding. Various governmental organizations(under the Communist Party) acting as representatives of the state as shareholders have influenced firms enormously, particularly regarding matters of organizing the board of directors as well as electing management. However since they have little incentives to manage state(national) assets and have insufficient capacity to monitor a large number of firms of which they are in charge, the principal-agent problem tends to prevail, which adds to the difficulties in preserving the value of state assets as well. 4 The last paper “Ownership Concentration and Corporate Performances in the Northeast Asian Countries” by Seung-Rok Park compares the relationship between corporate governance structure and corporate performance in Korea, Japan, and China by empirically examining the accounting corporate performances and technical efficiency measures. In the case of Korea, ownership concentration was shown to have positively affected all corporate accounting performance variables such as profit margin, return on shareholders’ funds, return on total assets, and return on capital employed. Furthermore, it was also found that ownership concentration positively affected corporate performance by helping improve the technical efficiency of firms. Unlike Korea, in Japan, there was no sign of a positive effect of ownership concentration on the accounting corporate performance and technical efficiency. Moreover, in the case of China, ownership concentration positively affected profit margin and return on total assets, while no positive effects of ownership concentration were found on return on capital employed and return on shareholders’ funds.         Genetic Variation in the Asian Shore Crab Hemigrapsus sanguineus in Korean Coastal Waters as Inferred from Mitochondrial DNA Sequences

        Genetic variation in the Asian shore crab Hemigrapsus sanguineus was determined from partial mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequences of the cytochrome b (Cytb) gene. Samples included 143 crabs from six localities along three coastlines in South Korea. A nucleotide sequence analysis revealed 38 variable sites in a 470-bp sequence, which defined 37 haplotypes. The haplotypes were not associated geographically and had a shallow genealogy. Pairwise $F_{ST}$ tests and a two-dimensional scaling analysis revealed no significant genetic differentiation among most of the populations. The low pairwise comparison values, but significant genetic differentiation of a northeastern population from all other populations, might have been influenced by a restriction in gene flow caused by hydrographic conditions such as ocean boundaries. The high haplotype diversity, low nucleotide diversity, and time since H. sanguineus expansion in Korean coastal waters indicate rapid population growth and a recent, sudden expansion in the Late Pleistocene.

        Estradiol과 Medroxyprogesterone Acetate가 골아세포의 성장에 미치는 영향

        N/A This study was designed to clarify the hormonal effect on the growth of osteoblast. And the osteoblasts from neonatal mouse were cultured in the medium at various concentrations of 17β-estradiol(EST), medroxyprogesterone acetate(MPA) in addition 10nM of dexamethasone(DMS) and alcohol for 48 hours. And in order to detect the response of osteoblast on the those hormones, the alkaline phosphatase(ALP) activity also was measured. 1. At 48 hours after culture of osteoblasts in media at various concentrations of hormones, EST has an effect on increasing of the cell number in fashion of dose dependent, whereas MPA did not increase the cell number. 2. Dexametasone significantly promoted differentiation of osteoblasts does dependently with increasing of ALP activity. 3. In osteoblasts culture in media supplemented with alcohol in the absence of 10nM DMS, EST increased significantly ALP activity, while decreased ALP activity of osteoblast in the presence of DMS, 4. In culture of osteoblasts treated with alcohol in the absence of 10nM DMS, MPA did not show any change of ALP activity. But in the presence of DMS, MPA decreased ALP activity of osteoblast. 5. EST plus MPA stimulated the ALP activity in osteoblasts treated with alcohol in the absence of DMS. While, in the cells treated with DMS, they synergistically decreased ALP activity.

        호르몬 보충용법이 단구세포의 조직인자 활동에 미치는 영향

        "Our purpose was to investigate the effects of hormone replacement therapy on the reactivity of monocyte in whole blood, mesured by tissue factor activity. Thirty-eight women were randomized into oral combind homone replacement therapy and underwent blood sampling before and 3 and 12 months of treament,The tissue factor activity in monocytes was measured both in unstimulated whole blood and after a weak lipopolisaccaide stimulation. After 12months of hormone replacement therapy there were significant reduction of tissue factor activity in both unstimulated and lipopolisaccaride stimulated monocyte (p<0.001). Twelve months of hormone replacement therapy reduces cellular activation of blood monocytes; these changes may account for some of the beneficial effects in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. "
