Women Ministry in the New Testament and the Church in Africa
2015 Asia-Africa Journal of Mission and Ministry(AAMM) Vol.12 No.-
Feminism is at the heart of religion and cultural discourse in 21st Century Africa which has raised so much concern on the role of women in ministry? This has left the church in Africa into confusion in biblical interpretation. This paper examines some of the relevant New Testament views in respect of women, their roles and Ministry. Discover the cause of the shift in their original role and the implications to the contemporary African Church. The paper discovers that the women’s role has nothing to do with priestly services or ordination. It found out that the cause of the shift in women’s role is as a result of women quest to power and by most contemporary scholars under feminist influence which has created division, segregation, and impaired the mission of the church. The paper suggests that all members can do Gods work, women can be in ministry but not as ordained ministers and still make impact as it was in the New Testament times.
Blockchain Adoption in Rural Area: The role of Internet Penetration
Vol.2020 No.8
This paper investigates the role of internet penetration on the adoption of blockchain for rural application. Areas of rural adoption includes financial services, agricultural product supply chain and election. This work first analyzed the factors affecting rural adoption, such as corruption, illiteracy, and lack of network infrastructure. Then we narrowed it down to network related factors. To emphasize on the importance of internet availability, we analyzed data from ITU to see how rural areas are disadvantaged by lack of internet. We also analyzed factors that affect internet penetration. And finally suggested possible solution which include the implementation of private to public transactions and the use of tokens. These are expected to argument the deficits of the current internet infrastructure, hence facilitate rural adoption.
A Study of Ferroelectric Properties of the Oscillator Model of PZT-22
2011 ETRI Journal Vol.33 No.1
In this letter, we study the contemporary technologies for making ferroelectric films and the possibility of using the oscillator model of PZT-22 to analyze its ferroelectric properties. The material showed permittivity dispersion at 65 KHz and 88.5 KHz. We obtained relative attenuation γ, relaxation time τ, and max of the material as 0.0008319, 0.5 s, and 603.438, respectively.
Blockchain Implementation of Pure Wallet (PW): An Offline Transaction Architecture
2021 ICT Express Vol.7 No.3
This article proposes an electronic payment architecture named Pure Wallet (PW), which extends the concept of Blockchain cryptocurrency for offline transactions. The process is divided into three steps. The first step requires the use of Internet connection, to convert cryptocurrency into a token at the token manager. The token manager initiates a transaction that requires the information in the token to complete. Then offline transactions step is performed between electronic devices like mobile phones through a secure Near Field Communication (NFC) using the token in senders device. The financial value in the form of a token is encrypted by the sender and sent to the receiver’s device via NFC. In the third step, the receiver converts the received token into cryptocurrency in the presence of Internet connection by sending the information required to complete the transaction to the token manager. The goal is to propose an electronic payment architecture utilizing Blockchain, which will enable financial transactions without instant connection to the Internet. The Blockchain implementation in this work utilizes smart contract in Ethereum Blockchain. The result shows a successful transfer of value without instant Internet connection. The open issues related to Blockchain in offline transactions are listed for further research works.
Storage-Aware Mining for Blockchain Network
Ikechi Saviour Igboanusi,Allwinnaldo,Revin Naufal Alief,Muhammad Rasyid Redha Ansori,Jae-Min Lee,Dong-Seong Kim 한국통신학회 2022 한국통신학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2022 No.2
This work aims to reduce the requirement of a blockchain network by integrating the mining process with the sending of transaction to reduce overall transaction time. This focus on mining process decreases the overhead of mining in a private network, by reducing the production of empty blocks in the network which saves energy, storage space, network bandwidth and computational complexity. We proposed an Auto Mining algorithm which starts the mining process only when there is at least one pending transaction in the network, and stops mining as soon as the pending transactions are mined. The results show a significant reduction in the creation of empty blocks when the model is used compared to the state of the art.
A Biblical Response to the Practice of Polygamy in Eastern Nigeria
2015 Asia-Africa Journal of Mission and Ministry(AAMM) Vol.11 No.-
Since the advent of the missionary churches to Eastern Nigeria, such as the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the practice of polygamy has created problems because monogamy is taught as the form of marriage acceptable to the church. For this reason, people who practice polygamy are denied membership into the church through baptism. This paper seeks to inquire into the Biblical teaching concerning polygamy in an attempt to solve or minimize the clash between Christian Polygamists and Christian anti-polygamists against the materials available in the Bible as it concern the practice of polygamy. Beginning from Old Testament, the paper shows that polygamy was practiced but was not God’s original plan for Marriage. It argues further that the texts where marriage is mentioned in the New Testament does not support polygamy. The paper therefore recommends that Seventh day Adventist Church in Eastern Nigeria and other Churches in Nigeria need to reappraise their stand and accept that Polygamy is not from God and it is an act of indiscipline that should not be allowed in the church.
