Pulmonary carcinoids are relatively rare tumors with low metastatic potential. Pleural carcinomatosis of a bronchial carcinoid has only been reported in 4 cases. Due to the rarity of this condition, there are no guidelines for its treatment or management. We report a case of atypical carcinoid with local recurrence and pleural metastases treated by video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery lobectomy and total pleurectomy with photodynamic therapy after non-radical wedge resection.

This article is dedicated to the theme of text analysis based on the idea of annular segmentation (AS). We should specify AS as an expressive variant of a formal extract with a special structure: simple sentences organize the circle and complex sentences create the middle part of every annular segment. AS was examined in different types of newspapers’ texts. Due to the structure and semantics of this text fragment it can’t be found in analytical, special political and other texts which avoid simple sentences and any kind of emotional constructions. That was also the main reason to admit that the “styleforming function” of AS can be distinguished only in short notices. Mainly these notices included nothing but one AS. In this semantical contest AS can be compared to the “frame” theory and identified as a “frame-situation”. At the same time in spite of all grammatical reasons the formal structure of AS may be disturbed by complicators on the level of structure and semantics of the simple sentence. Besides of these complicators which characterize a newspaper’s style one should mention emotion on the lexical and syntax level which usually is not involved in AS. We have no doubt that AS in newspapers’ language shows not only the ways of mutual connection of Russian classical prose with the language of newspaper but also the endless horizons of future usage of AS in the sphere of advertisement, interview or news’ presentation.

A number of automotive electronics-safety, driver assistance, and infotainment devices-have been deployed in recent vehicles. This raises new challenges regarding in-vehicular network arbitration. A performance analysis of non-destructive arbitration has revealed a fairness issue. The arbitration prioritizes without collisions, despite multiple simultaneous transmissions; however, the performances of the highest priority node and the lowest priority node are very different. In this paper, an ID-rotation arbitration method to solve the arbitration-fairness problem is proposed. The proposed algorithm was applied to several engine control units (ECUs), including a controller area network (CAN) controller. Experimental results showed that the algorithm improved the fairness as well as the total throughput within a specific performance constraint.

IoT 가 다양한 형태로 IT 기술을 이용하는 사물의 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 보다 스마트한 IoT 환경을 만들기 위하여 센서 데이터를 효율적으로 컨트롤하는 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문은 계속적으로 생성되는 IoT 센서 데이터를 효율적으로 처리하는 시스템을 Loosely Coupled 하고 확장 가능한 Sensor Reaction System 의 아키텍처로 구성하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Node.js, MQTT, MongoDB 기술을 사용함으로써 이벤트 기반한 stream 및 batch 처리를 할 수 있도록 센서 데이터를 메시지 큐에서 효율적으로 처리한다. 본 논문에서는 아두이노 보드에 온도 및 빛 센서를 부착한 센서 디바이스로부터 센서 데이터를 받아서 PC 기반의 MQTT Broker / Sensor Reactor / MongoDB 서버 시스템을 구축하고 성능을 분석하였다.

The aim of this parasitological study is examining contemporary (the late 20th century) specimens of the arctic or subarctic areas in Western Siberia and comparing them with the information acquired from archaeological samples from the same area. In the contemporary specimens, we observed the parasite eggs of 3 different species: Opisthochis felineus, Ascaris lumbricoides, and Enterobius vermicularis. Meanwhile, in archaeoparasitological results of Vesakoyakha, Kikki-Akki, and Nyamboyto I burial grounds, the eggs of Diphyllobothrium and Taenia spp. were found while no nematode (soil-transmitted) eggs were observed in the same samples. In this study, we concluded helminth infection pattern among the arctic and subarctic peoples of Western Siberia throughout history as follows: the raw fish-eating tradition did not un-dergo radical change in the area at least since the 18th century; and A. lumbricoides or E. vermicularis did not infect the inhabitants of this area before 20th century. With respect to the Western Siberia, we caught glimpse of the parasite infection pattern prevalent therein via investigations on contemporary and archaeoparasitological specimens.

Technology and trends in the IoT field are being developed focusing on the respectiveplatforms and standards of IoT devices and IoT gateways. In this paper, we propose Smart IoTGateway Platform by summarizing the role of IoT Device, IoT Gateway, and Cloud Service usingIoT technology. We present the roles of various platforms (Curie Board, Android, etc.) of IoT Deviceand present Smart IoT Gateway that connects, manages and controls IoT devices. In addition, wepropose the architecture of Cloud Service for environment that consists of IoT Device and SmartIoT Gateway. In this paper, we implemented the Smart IoT Gateway Platform as a prototype andpresented the cloud services for the customer and manager needs. IoT 분야의 기술과 동향은 IoT Device와 IoT Gateway의 각각의 플랫폼이나 표준에 초점에맞춰 발전하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IoT 기술을 활용하여 IoT Device, IoT Gateway, Cloud Service들의 역할에 대해 정리하여 Smart IoT Gateway Platform을 제시하고 있다. IoT Device들로 존재할 수 있는 다양한 플랫폼(Curie Board, Android등)이 하는 역할과 이를 연결, 관리 및 제어하는Smart IoT Gateway, IoT Device와 Smart IoT Gateway로 구성되어있는 환경에 맞는 CloudService의 Architecture에 대해 제시하고, 프로토타입 형태로 Smart IoT Gateway Platform을 구현하고, 고객 및 관리자 니즈에 맞는 Cloud Service들을 제시하였다.

The paper presents the results of a multi-criteria comparative evaluation of 12 feasible Russian nuclear energy deployment scenarios with thermal and fast reactors in a closed nuclear fuel cycle. The comparative evaluation was performed based on 6 performance indicators and 5 different MCDA methods (Simple Scoring Model, MAVT / MAUT, AHP, TOPSIS, PROMETHEE) in accordance with the recommendations elaborated by the IAEA/INPRO section. It is shown that the use of different MCDA methods to compare the nuclear energy deployment scenarios, despite some differences in the rankings, leads to well-coordinated and similar results. Taking into account the uncertainties in the weights within a multi-attribute model, it was possible to rank the scenarios in the absence of information regarding the relative importance of performance indicators and determine the preference probability for a certain nuclear energy deployment scenario. Based on the results of the uncertainty/sensitivity analysis and additional analysis of alternatives as well as the whole set of graphical and attribute data, it was possible to identify the most promising nuclear energy deployment scenario under the assumptions made.

Less mature nuclear reactor technologies are characterized by a greater uncertainty due to insufficient detailed design information, operational data, cost information, etc., but the expected performance characteristics of less mature options are usually more attractive in comparison with more mature ones. The greater uncertainty is, the higher economic risks associated with the project realization will be. Within a comparative evaluation of less and more mature nuclear reactor technologies, it is necessary to apply economic risk measures to balance judgments regarding the economic performance of less and more mature options. Assessments of any risk metrics involve calculating different characteristics of probability distributions of associated economic performance indicators and applying the Monte-Carlo method. This paper considers the applicability of statistical risk measures for different economic performance indicators within a trial case study on a comparative evaluation of less and more mature unspecified LWRs. The presented case study demonstrates the main trends associated with the incorporation of economic risk metrics into a comparative evaluation of less and more mature nuclear reactor technologies.
