Recently, particulate matter(PM) caused by internal factors such as industrialization and urbanization as well as external factors such as Asian dust is a serious problem in Korea. In particular, while the emission due to construction appears to be very serious among the internal factors, it is necessary to manage PM in consideration of the characteristics of construction sites. Accordingly, in this study, a PM management system suitable for construction sites was developed to reduce civil complaints caused by PM and to minimize damage to field workers and nearby residents by supporting the fine dust management system of the state and local governments. The factors to be considered when measuring PM due to the specificity of construction sites were considered, and the system components were developed based on the considerations. As a result, an IoT based construction site PM monitoring system (CPMS) that integrates each component was established.
A Study on Selection of Core Services for Deciding ISMS Scope

The first thing to be prioritized is to set the scope of the management system when establishing an information security management system for systematic and effective information security management. It is important to set the scope for an organization’s information security goals due to the scope affects the organization’s overall information security activities. If the scope is set incorrectly, it might become impossible to protect important services and therefore, the scope of the management system should be determined in consideration of the core business services of the organization. We propose a core service selection model based on the organization’s mission-critical service and high risk service in order to determine the effective information security management system scope in this paper. Core service selection criteria include the type of service, contribution to sales, socio-economic impact, and linkage with other services
MODEL PREDICTIVE CONTROL FOR EVASIVE STEERING OF AN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE

Model Predictive Control (MPC) is frequently used for the steering controllers of autonomous vehicles, and simple vehicle dynamics is usually used for the reference model. However, simple vehicle dynamics is not sufficient for evasive steering maneuvers that require very fast steering actions. The objective of this study is to design an MPC that works for such maneuvers. We considered the steering system model and vehicle model in the MPC design. The proposed steering model provides information about the disturbances, the bandwidth of the actuator, and the motor voltage while maintaining a simple structure. The controller computes less demanding desired steering angles that do not violate the voltage constraints at the cost of tracking error. Otherwise, the MPC would result in failure of the desired evasive maneuver due to voltage saturation causing failure of the steering angle tracking. A simulation and experimental results confirmed that evasive maneuvers are successfully performed with the proposed steering controller within the allowable voltage range, and it outperformed a regular MPC based on a simple vehicle model.
Therapeutic effects of selective p300 histone acetyl-transferase inhibitor on liver fibrosis

Liver fibrosis is caused by chronic liver damage and results inthe aberrant accumulation of extracellular matrix during diseaseprogression. Despite the identification of the HAT enzyme p300as a major factor for liver fibrosis, the development of therapeuticagents targeting the regulation of p300 has not beenreported. We validated a novel p300 inhibitor (A6) on theimprovement of liver fibrosis using two mouse models, miceon a choline-deficient high-fat diet and thioacetamide-treatedmice. We demonstrated that pathological hall-marks of liverfibrosis were significantly diminished by A6 treatment throughMasson’s trichrome and Sirius red staining on liver tissue andfound that A6 treatment reduced the expression of matricellularprotein genes. We further showed that A6 treatment improvedliver fibrosis by reducing the stability of p300 proteinvia disruption of p300 binding to AKT. Our findings suggestthat targeting p300 through the specific inhibitor A6 has potentialas a major therapeutic avenue for treating liver fibrosis.

Three new species of the genus Micractinium were collected from five localities on the South Shetland Islands inmaritime Antarctica, and their morphological and molecular characteristics were investigated. The vegetative cells arespherical to ellipsoidal and a single chloroplast is parietal with a pyrenoid. Because of their simple morphology, noconspicuous morphological characters of new species were recognized under light microscopy. However, molecularphylogenetic relationships were inferred from the concatenated small subunit rDNA, and internal transcribed spacer(ITS) sequence data indicated that the Antarctic microalgal strains are strongly allied to the well-supported genus Micractinium,including M. pusillum, the type species of the genus, and three other species in the genus. The secondarystructure of ITS2 and compensatory base changes were used to identify and describe six Antarctic Micractinium strains. Based on their morphological and molecular characteristics, we characterized three new species of Micractinium: M. simplicissimum sp. nov., M. singularis sp. nov., and M. variabile sp. nov.
