This study examined the authenticity of the listening and activity types of listening tasks in Korean listening for academic purposes. In doing so, it aimed to investigate and analyse the authenticity of the discourse in the listening textbooks and the activity types of listening tasks for academic Korean learners. Through analysis and reflection, I discuss important issues for the future development of listening materials. The results of the analysis confirm the progress of the textbooks. However, it is necessary to diversify the genres of the discourse, which were recorded using various media. I also discuss the broadening of the scope for more practical listening. Regarding the listening task activities in the textbooks, I found that the tasks were biased toward literal comprehension listening, intensive listening and selective listening. Therefore, I suggest that the inferential listening tasks and interactive listening activities should be further reflected in the textbooks. (Seoul National University)

Purpose: It is important to plan the ward module at a time when the size of beds, the floor area, and the construction budget are all set prior to the hospital design. In this context this study aims (1) to derive various factors affecting the ward module, and (2) to analyze the appropriate room module according to the type. Methods: Design factors related to hospital modules are derived through precedential studies, and the types of ward elevation are classified by reviewing the drawings of 18 case hospitals. And the detailed dimensions and area of the derived elements are analyzed. Results: The X-axis modules of the ward are switched to long span structural columns of 9.9 m, 12.6 m and 13.2 m, but the ward modules still represent 6.6 m. The Y-axis module of the ward shows a dimension of 9 to 9.9m in the process of changing a multi-person room into a four-person room. Type A of curtain wall with columns located on the wall of the room and type B of curtain wall located in the center of the room are analyzed due to their variations. The square window type, which forms the elevation of the square window by exposing the columns to the elevation, and the outframe type, which protrudes from the structural columns and beams, have elevation designs limited. There are, however, no obstacles to the interior space of the hospital room, so the wall composition and furniture arrangement are expected to be free. The ward area of Curtain Wall Type A, which can secure an effective area of 5.9m*5.0m, are 52.1㎡. The Curtain Wall Type A, Square window type, and the outframe type are 49.8㎡. Implications: As part of the hospital standard module plan for economical and reasonable hospital building planning, a type was proposed in this study in conjunction with the external design. It is hoped that it be a base for standard module research linked together to the Central Treatment department, Outpatient department and underground parking lot.

This research presents principles and models for developing textbooks for business Korean to be used at the King Sejong Institutes overseas targeting Korean learners with vocational purposes. The principles of the business textbooks are based on research by Hyunjin Kim et al. (2018) which contains needs analysis and results from analyzing textbooks. The principles were also extracted from investigating previous researches relating to business Korean and characteristics of teaching and learning Korean with vocational purposes. The principles can be summarized to 1) connectivity with general purpose Korean textbooks of “Sejong Korean”, 2) centrality with the users, and 3) improving communication skills for vocations. Additionally, textbooks based on these principles were tested in August and September of 2018 in China and Korea; usefulness of the textbooks were then examined by experts in Korean education. After the process, “Sejong Business Korean 1, 2” each with 18 chapters were written. (Ewha Womans University·Yonsei University·Hongik University·Yonsei University·University of Seoul)
Visual-Inertial Odometry Priors for Bundle-Adjusting Neural Radiance Fields
Hyunjin Kim,Minkyeong Song,Daekyeong Lee,Pyojin Kim 제어로봇시스템학회 2022 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2022 No.11
We present bundle-adjusting Neural Radiance Fields (BARF) with motion priors. Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) has opened up tremendous potential for neural volume rendering and 3D scene representations in recognition of their ability to synthesize photo-realistic novel views. BARF mitigates NeRF’s reliance on accurate 6-DoF camera poses, enabling scene learning with inaccurate camera poses. However, initializing estimates far from an optimal solution, such as BARF, can easily fall into local minima. We utilize Visual-Inertial Odometry Motion Priors to the BARF, which jointly optimizes 3D scene representations and camera poses, providing higher accuracy in view synthesis and a more stable motion estimate. The proposed method achieves results that outperform original BARF in real-world data, demonstrating the effectiveness of motion priors to knowledge use.
Cationic Polymer Development for mRNA Delivery and their Application for CRISPR-Cas Technology
HyunJin KIM 한국생물공학회 2021 한국생물공학회 학술대회 Vol.2021 No.4
Efficient nonviral vector gradually become an essential requisite for successful gene editing therapy via CRISPR-Cas technology, which Cas9 protein edits guide RNA (gRNA)-complementary target chromosome DNA. The nonviral vector in the local administration can accomplish gene editing in the area of interest without inducing undesirable gene editing in the off-region. We have developed amphiphilic polyaspartamide derivatives (PAsp(DET/CHE)) to induce transient and high Cas9 protein expression from messenger RNA (mRNA). Diethylenetriamine (DET) moiety provides high endosomal escape ability and associates with negatively charged mRNA. 2-Cyclohexylethyl (CHE) moiety optimizes polymer hydrophobicity between mRNA nanoparticle stability in the extracellular condition and mRNA release in the cytoplasm. CHE moiety was selected from the highest luciferase mRNA expression in cultured cells among ~20 aliphatic groups between 5 and 10 carbon atoms. PAsp(DET/CHE) was synthesized via two-step process. The precursor polymer poly(β-benzyl-L-aspartate) (PBLA) were synthesized with ring opening polymerization between n-butylamine and β-benzyl-L-aspartate N-carboxy-anhydride (BLA-NCA) to have degree of polymerization (DP) of 26. PAsp(DET/CHE) was synthesized by co-aminolysis of DET and CHE into PBLA to contain 15 DET and 11 CHE moieties. Interestingly, the mRNA translation efficacy was not affected by DP of PAsp(DET/CHE) from 26 to 121 but by the amounts of CHE moieties in the single polymer. The PAsp(DET/CHE) with less than 8 CHE introduction amounts did not increase mRNA translation efficacy at all but dramatically enhanced the translation efficacy with more than 11 CHE introduction amounts. We analyzed in vitro cellular uptakes, endosomal escape ability, and release kinetics of mRNA in cytoplasm to clarify the mechanism of high mRNA translation of PAsp(DET/CHE). Gene editing was evaluated in Ai9 mouse, which red fluorescence occurs in the results of Cas9/gRNA based STOP cassette cleavages. The nano-particles were prepared with mixing between PAsp(DET/CHE) and Cas9 mRNA (or gRNA). The nanoparticles (1.5 ug Cas9 mRNA and 1.5 ug sgRNA) were locally injected into ventricular area of the Ai9 mouse. At 2day post-administration, the brain was dissected and observed by using confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM). Gene editing occurred in the ependymal layer and choroid plexus of almost all brain area, which indicated high delivery efficiency of PAsp(DET/CHE) into the brain. PAsp(DET/CHE) has high gene editing efficacy in the local delivery into brain, nose, and muscle. These indicate high potential of the hydrophobicity optimization of polyaspartamide derivatives and demonstrates the strong potential of PAsp(DET/CHE) for in vitro and in vivo Cas9 mRNA/gRNA delivery.
