This paper aims at finding out the problems of the suffixes associated with noun phrases in Basic Korean Dictionary and suggesting rational solutions on them. This is because those suffixes show inconsistency with the definition of derivational suffixes in that they cannot produce new words. Of course there are simple modifications about the errors such as wrong information and obscure explanation in distribution. However, it is most important that the solutions consistent with the definition of derivational suffixes must be pursued. Therefore, at least three classes are discriminated according to taking part in wordᐨformation. The first class contains the units that are associated only with noun phrases and therefore cannot be treated as derivational suffixes at all. The second class is consisted of the units that are associated with nouns as well as noun phrases but cannot take part in wordᐨformation. These units also cannot be treated as derivational suffixes. The third class includes the units that are associated with nouns as well as noun phrases and can take part in wordᐨformation. Therefore it is possible to consider these units as derivational suffixes. There are two ways for representing them in 『Basic Korean Dictionary』. One is polysemous and another is homonymous. To represent them in 『Basic Korean Dictionary』without contradiction, it seems that the latter is a much more useful way.

The current study evaluates the capacity of eugenol to regulate immediate allergic reaction by control of histamine release. Administrations of eugenol (1 M/kg. i.p.) at 60 min before and 5.10 min after the compound 48/80 treatment (8 mg/kg.i.p.) were shown the mortality rates as 0.44.4. and 77.8%. respectively. A 60 min before administered group revealed a singificant inhibition of serum his-tamine release compared with those of 5 and 10 min after the compound 48/80 injection. Eugenol (6-48mM) was also showed a dose-dependent activity on the compound 48/80-induced histamine release from the highly purified population of Alcian Blue-positive peritoneal mast cells. These results indicate that in vitro treatment with exogenous eugenol inhibited the active response of mast cell populations and modulated its characteristics.
알킬다이암모늄을 이용한 층상규산알루미늄염의 층전하밀도 측정

A new method for the layer charge determination in the 2:1 type layered aluminosilicate was proposed. As a test material vermiculite was chosen and its n-alkyldiammonium intercatation compounds were prepared by the ion exchange reaction. The layer charge density per formula unit (ξ) was estimated from the critical carbon number of alkyldiammonium ion during the structure phase transition (from monolayer to bilayer structure). The prepared compounds were also characterized by IR, XRD and Thermal Analysis.
층전하밀도 변화에 따른 Hydrotalcite형 LDH의 물리화학적 특성에 관한 연구 : Ⅱ. TG-DTA를 이용한 열적특성

Layered double hydroxides (LDH) are antitypes of 2:1 layered aluminosilicates, [Mg_1 _xAl_x(OH)_2·(A^n)_x/n·yH_2O]. These structures consist of a positively charged framework in which the cations occupy the octahedral sites between the sheets of close-packed anions. Its was successfully synthesized by the co-precipitation methods and with variation of charge density which has a very important role to be determined the physicochemical properties of layered materials. From the results of TG--DTA analysis, we found that the thermal decomposition shows three stages of weight loss. The first and second steps stand the weight loss for dehydration reaction of interlayer water. The third step (at <450℃) is probably due to both the loss of structural water (dehydroxylation) and the deintercalation of anions occupied in the gallery space. It was also revealed that the transition temperature(T_c) and the weight loss were increased by increasing of layer charge of LDH.
중앙아시아 벽화 보존처리(1) : 벽화(본4074, 본4096)의 상태조사

국립중앙박물관은 용산 새 박물관의 전시 유물로 선정된 중앙아시아 벽화의 연차적인 보존처리를 위해 “독립행정법인 일본 도쿄문화재연구소’’와 공동연구를 모색하게 되었다. 2001년에 본4074, 본4096 작은 벽화편 2점의 보존처리를 시작하면서 벽화의 균열 박락 등 손상상태, 구조와 구성재료, 이전 보존처리에서 적용된 재료와 방법에 대한 기초조사를 실시하였다. 조사결과 본4074, 본4096 2점의 벽화는 흙과 지푸라기를 반죽하여 만든 벽체에 석고를 발라 바탕으로 하고 그 위에 채색을 한 것으로 나타났으며 벽체 속에 포함된 지푸라기의 방사선 탄소연대측정 결과 본 벽화는 10세기 말에서 13세기 초에 만들어진 것으로 나타났다. 또한 X-선회절 분석 결과 화면의 흰색 바탕은 gypsum[Ca(SO₄)·2H₂O]과 CaSO₄, Calcite(CaCO₃)가 적색계통은 연단(鉛丹:Pb₃O₄)과 led arsenate[Pb(As₂O₆)], 녹색계통은 Cuprite(Cu₂O)와 arsenolite(As₂O₃), arsenic oxide(As₂O₄) 등이 사용된 것으로 조사되었다. This article is about a joint project carried out by the National Museum of Korea and the Tokyo Cultural Properties Research Institute for the conservation of central Asia Wall painting that has been selected for the exhibition at the new Seoul National Museum of Korea at Yongsan. The investigation of the wall painting revealed very useful information. This includes the condition of the object, and the identification of evident damage, such as cracks, loss of pigment, plus materials and methods employed during the object's creation, as well as previous conservation treatment. The object was mainly made by applying plaster to the body (wall) that consisted of a mixture of soils and rice straws. Then, on the surface of the wall-painting, pigments were used to draw and to colour it. As a part of the investigation, radiocarbon dating was conducted using straw samples taken from the object. The result indicates that the object is probably dated form between the end of the 10th Century and the beginning of the 13th Century. The result of X-ray diffraction also revealed the composition of the pigments used on the surface. These are 1. gypsom[Ca(SO₄)·2H₂O], CaSO₄ and Calcite(CaCO₃) and Calcite(CaCO₃) that were used for the white background. 2. Pb₃O₄ and led Arsenate [Pb(As₂O₆) that were used for the red colouring. 3. Cuprite(Cu₂O), Arsenolite(As₂O₃) and Arsenic Oxide(As₂O₄) that were used for the green colouring.

MgAl-layered double hydroxides, [Mg_(1-x)Al_x(OH)_2](CO_3^2-)_X/2·yH_2O were synthesized by the co-precipitation methods and with variation of charge density which has a very important role to he determined the physicochemical properties of layered materials. From the results of XRD analysis, we found that the lattice parameter and the unit cell volume decreased linearly to the amount of Al substituent in the vicinity of x = 0.0667 and x = 0.33, but those were nearly constant. when the x are far from these vicinity. Especially, Mg(OH)_2 peak also shows besides LDH phases in a compound with a small x value of 0.0667. From these results, the most appropriate condition to synthesis the LDH single phase was revealed to be x = 0.1 - 0.33.
Bacillus subtilis β-glucanase유전자의 효모세포에서의 발현

The clone pABC1 inserted the β-glucanase gene of Bacillus subtilis was transformed and expressed in a polyploid yeast cell, S. uvarum OE2. The yeast/pABC1 produced the enzyme intracellularly, however not extracellularly. When the S. uvarum OE2 was disrupted, the cell extract showed β-glucanase activity which meant the expression of β-glucanase gene in S. uvarum OE2. To make a β-glucanase extracellular secretion in S. uvarum OE2, the promoter of β-glucanase region derived from B. subtilis in the pABC1 was substituted with the promoter of the alcohol dehydrogenase 1 gene in the pAMC1 vector originated from S. cerevisiae and named pABC1. The S. uvarum OE2 transformed with pABC1 extracellularly secreted the β-glucanase.

Computer-Mediated Communication Systems (CMCS) like E-mail or bulletin boards have drastically increased the amount as well as the speed of information exchange. Also, Office Automation (OA) environment needs an effective system for document storage and retrieval. DO-STORES(DOcument STOrage and REtrieval System) based on the hypertext concept that can access sequential documents with non-sequential methods was designed and a prototype system was implemented. DO-STORE consists of a storage system for converting input document with hypertext DB, a retrieval system that access documents using non-sequential method and hypertext DB of documents. The prototype of DO-STORES is implemented with the IBM/PC compatible using C-language. Frequently used office documents, which have well structured format, are used as input to the prototype system.
