        ATM-MPLS 기반 초고속국가망서비스의 서비스품질 강화 방안

        정부는 초고속국가망 구축사업을 1995년부터 시작하여 2005년까지 완성하기로 하고, 2004년 말 기준으로 국가 및 지방자치 단체, 교육기관, 연구기관, 의료기관, 기타 공공기관으로 하여금 다양한 서비스를 저렴한 비용으로 이용할 수 있도록 추진하고 있다. 초고속국가망의 고품질 서비스 제공을 위해 도입한 ATM-MPLS망에서 서비스품질과 보안서비스 제공 방안을 제시한다. 이를 위해 먼저 초고속국가망사업의 서비스 동향과 단계별 사업 추진 내용을 알아보고, 다음으로 초고속국가망 사용자의 종단간 서비스품질을 제공하기 위한 서비스품질 제어방법을 제안한다. 마지막으로 초고속국가망에서 이용하는 MPLS VPN, Metro-ATM에서 종단간 서비스품질을 보장하는 방안을 제시한다. 이를 위해 ATM-MPLS 서비스, ATM-MPLS VPN 서비스, Metro-Ethernet 서비스의 기술 동향과 서비스품질을 보장할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 이러한 분석을 통해 초고속국가망의 서비스품질 정책과 서비스품질을 강화하기 위한 계획을 찾을 수 있다.

      • R.C. 라멘교의 윤하중분포폭 산정식 제안

        The wheel load distribution width is used to consider transverse distribution effect when bridge is designed. But, the wheel load distribution width of R.C. slab which has a structural difference is used to design the R.C. rahmen bridge. This study aims to propose equations of wheel load distribution width for R.C. rahmen bridge. MIDAS GENw program, finite element analysis program, was utilized to calculate the wheel load distribution width. Result of finite element analysis that use MIDAS GENw was analyzed by SPSS that is the statistical analysis program. The proposed equations in this study compared with domestic bridge design code and AASHTO LRFD code. These equations can be used usefully when R.C. rahmen bridge design.

        조선소 근로자에서의 국소진동장해 진단방법에 대한 평가

        A hand-arm vibration syndrome, local vibration illness, occurs in some workers who use hand held vibration tools. It consists of white fingers, diffusely distributed finger neuropathy, pain in the hand and arm, and a small excess risk of osteoarthritis. This study is aimed to identify effective methods to confirm local vibration illness among various health exams, which are mentioned in worker's special health exam regulation. In addition, this study is aimed to quantitatively assess the daily vibration exposure level as a major determinant of vibration illness. The subjects, 46 vibration workers, were selected according to the results of the first special health exam about vibration hazards at shipbuilding industry in 1997. They all had experiences of work related blanching of fingers. Fifteen controls, who had no vibration exposure at all, were also recruited to compare their test results with the results of vibration workers. We adopted I subjective and 6 objective tests to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility for confirming local vibration illness. These tests were history taking of subjective symptoms according to the Stockholm classification, checking blood pressure of finger, checking grasp power, checking finger skin temperature, nail-bed pressing test, vibration perceptional threshold test, and skin prick test for pain perception. Among these, checking skin temperature, nail-bed pressing test, and vibration perception test included cold water provocations. We also estimated some vibration exposure levels of hand held vibration tools by using previously published data from one automobile company. In conclusion, history taking of subjective symptoms according to the Stockholm classification, nail-bed pressing test, and vibration perceptional threshold test were discovered to be effective to diagnose local vibration illness. Furthermore, vibration perceptional threshold on right fingers showed a dose-response relationship to daily vibration exposure levels. The parameter β was 0.0005(±0.0002), and statistically significant by REM(random effects model).

      • 자가면역 용혈빈혈의 임상적 분석

        Background: Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is a very uncommon disorder with the incidence between one and three cases per a hundred thousans a year. There have been very few studies about AIHA in Korea because of its low incidence. Most AIHA studies in Korea were about case history. The aim of this study was to review the clinical features, therapy and outcome of AIHA patients in single institution clinic. Methods: We reviewed retrospectively the medical records of AIHA patients from December 2002 to December 2006. Results: Twelve patient with AIHA were identified, and their median age was 49 years (range 27-75). Male to female ratio is 9:3. The median hemoglobin level was 5.0 g/㎗ (range 2.5-8.2). Warm type AIHA was most common (8/12), cold type was three, and mixed type was one. There was histories of associated disease in six patients. Two patients were complicated by systemic lupus erythematosus and mycoplasma infection and one patient by idiopathic myelofibrosis and solid tumor. Oral steroid was used as the first-line treatment in nine patients. An initial response was observed in eight patients with complete response. One patient had not responded to the initial steroid treatment, and then showed complete response with rituximab. Two relapsed patients were treated with rituximab and partial splenic embolization. Conclusion: The majority of patients can be treated with steroid. Rituximab can improve the response rate in relapsed and refractory AIHA.

        In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

      • Apoptosis and Cell Cycle Arrest in Two Human Breast Cancer Cell Lines by Dieckol Isolated from Ecklonia cava

        Purpose: Dieckol, a phlorotannin compound isolated from Ecklonia cava, has been reported to have antioxidant, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. The purpose of this study was to investigate its anticancer effects on human breast cancer cell lines. Methods: In this study, the viability of two human breast cancer cell lines SK-BR-3 and MCF-7 was investigated after dieckol treatment using a WST-1 assay. Apoptosis and cell cycle distribution were assayed via Annexin V-fluorescein isothiocyanate and propidium iodide staining followed by flow cytometric analysis. Immunoblotting analysis was also performed using Bax/Bcl-2 to determine whether the dieckol-induced apoptosis was mediated by the intrinsic apoptotic pathway. Results: In a dose dependent manner, dieckol reduced the number of viable cells and increased the number of apoptotic cells. The effect of dieckol on the cell cycle distribution was analyzed using flow cytometry. Dieckol treatment significantly increased the percentage of MCF-7 and SK-BR-3 in the G2/M phase. Immunoblot analysis revealed that 24 hours of dieckol exposure increased the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio. Conclusion: Dieckol induced cytotoxicity in MCF-7 and SK-BR-3 human breast cancer cells inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Therefore, it is suggested that dieckol may be a potential therapeutic agent for breast cancer.

        Predictive Factors of Malignancy in Thyroid Nodules Diagnosed as Follicular Neoplasm or Hürthle Cell Neoplasm on FNA

        Purpose: The rate of malignancy in the follicular neoplasm (FN) or Hürthle cell neoplasm (HCN) of the thyroid gland is estimated as approximately 20∼30%. Fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) and frozen section examination are restricted in differentiating between benign and malignant. The aims of this study are to compare the differences of clinicopathologic features and to determine the risk factors for malignancy in patients with FN or HCN. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted of patients with FN or HCN who were diagnosed by FNAB, and underwent surgery at our institution between Jan. 2005 to Jun. 2010. We analyzed the risk factors for malignancy and the differences of clinicopathologic features in patients with FN or HCN. Results: A total of 290 patients were enrolledin this study; 160 (55.2%) patients underwent thyroidectomy, 97 (60.6%) patients had FN, and 63 (39.4%) had HCN. Forty one (25.6%) patients were diagnosed as malignancy of these, 22 (22.7%) patients were FN and 19 (30.2%) were HCN (P=0.29). Two (2.1%) patients with FN and 10 (15.9%) with HCN (P=0.002) comcomitant papillary thyroid carcinoma were indentified by FNAB. Classification of nodules according to ultrasonographic findings in both neoplasms (P<0.05) and galectin-3 in FN (P<0.05) were predictive factors for malignancy. In addition, galectin-3 was a predictive factor for malignancy in indeterminate nodules on ultrasonography (USG) (P=0.028). Conclusion: Classification of nodules according to ultrasonographic findings and galectin-3 expression is helpful in predicting carcinoma of patients with FN or HCN.

      • The Analytic and Numerical Solutions of the 1$\frac{1}{2}$-layer and 2$\frac{1}{2}$-layer Models to the Strong Offshore Winds.

        The analytic and numerical solution of the 1$\frac{1}{2}$-layer and 2$\frac{1}{2}$-layer models are derived. The large coastal-sea level drop and the fast westward speed of the anticyclonic gyre due to strong offshore winds using two ocean models are investigated. The models are forced by wind stress fields similar in structure to the intense mountain-pass jets(${\sim}$20 dyne/$cm^{2}$) that appear in the Gulfs of Tehuantepec and Papagayo in the Central America for periods of 3${\sim}$7 days. Analytic and numerical solutions compare favorably with observations, the large sea-level drop (${\sim}$30 cm) at the coast and the fast westward propagation speeds (${\sim}$13 km/day) of the gyres. The coastal sea-level drop is enhanced by several factors: horizontal mixing, enhanced forcing, coastal geometry, and the existence of a second active layer in the 2$\frac{1}{2}$-layer model. Horizontal mixing enhances the sea-level drop because the coastal boundary layer is actually narrower with mixing. The forcing ${\tau}$/h is enhanced near the coast where h is thin. Especially, in analytic solutions to the 2$\frac{1}{2}$-layer model the presence of two baroclinic modes increases the sea-level drop to some degree. Of theses factors the strengthened forcing ${\tau}$/h has the largest effect on the magnitude of the drop, and when all of them are included the resulting maximum drop is -30.0 cm, close to observed values. To investigate the processes that influence the propagation speeds of anticyclonic gyre, several test wind-forced calculations were carried out. Solutions to dynamically simpler versions of the 1$\frac{1}{2}$-layer model show that the speed is increased both by ${\beta}$-induced self-advection and by larger h at the center ofthe gyres. Solutions to the 2$\frac{1}{2}$-layer model indicate that the lower-layer flow field advects the gyre westward and southward, significantly increasing their propagation speed. The Papagayo gyre propagates westward at a speed of 12.8 km/day, close to observed speeds.
