        국어교사의 신념과 읽기 수업 실행 양상

        In this study, we aimed to examine the constructivist beliefs of Korean language arts teachers and the relationship between their beliefs and classroom practices in teaching reading. A survey on teacher beliefs and practices in the teaching of reading was conducted on 216 Korean language arts teachers in secondary schools. To measure teacher beliefs, the Literacy Orientation Survey (LOS) was translated from English into Korean and validated with confirmatory factor analysis. The mean score on the LOS for the participants was 3.39, indicating that their constructivist orientation was relatively moderate. Among their beliefs about the content of reading instruction, “cultivating a positive attitude” and “reading in daily life” were highly correlated with the LOS. “Textbooks” were most often selected as reading material, but they were negatively correlated with the LOS. The extent to which they believed “the contents of the textbook” were important for evaluation and the extent to which they were using “multiple-choice tests” were both negatively correlated with their constructivist beliefs. The results of this study indicated that Korean language arts teachers’ beliefs were mostly congruent with their practices. But they were often engaged with the practices that they reported they did not support. Further research is needed to understand the subtle relationship between teachers’ beliefs and practices for teaching reading.

        조희룡(趙熙龍)의 임자도 유배기 한시 연구

        조희룡 회화의 예술적 성취와 예술론(시서화론)이 일찍부터 조명받은 것에 비해, 그의 한시는 해설 차원에 머문 감이 없지 않다. 이에 본고는 한시 작품론의 측면에서 그의 유배기 한시를 재조명하였다. 조희룡은 만년에 전라도 임자도에 유배되어 3년 동안 살았는데, 유배기의 한시를 수록한 『우해악암고』를 대상으로 구체적인 양상을 분석하였다. 조희룡은 조선 후기 성행한 절구 연작시를 선호하였다. 유배 도중과 유배지에서 직접 바라본 풍경을 그린 사경시(寫景詩)에서 소폭의 산수화 같은 정경을 만들어 보였으며, 회인시(懷人詩)의 전통을 계승한 <회인절구>에서는 특히 화가의 안목으로 대상 화가의 본령을 서정적으로 품평하였다. 한편, 조희룡은 유배 생활의 일상 정감을 유쾌한 어조로 토로하였는바, 스스로 희작(戲作)이라 칭한 작품들을 주목해 보았다. 희작 성향의 한시에서는 불교의 언어가 농담과 해학의 언어로 바뀌는 등 시어의 활용이 돋보였는데, 이는 암울한 유배지에서도 즐겁고 유쾌하게 살려고 한 그의 삶의 태도가 반영된 것으로 보인다. 유배지에서 조희룡이 몰두한 세계는 바로 시화(詩畫)였다. 그가 주장한 시화일체론(詩畫一體論)의 핵심은 화의(畫意)로 시정(詩情)이나 시경(詩境)을 만드는 창작 방법이라 할 수 있고, 그는 그러한 실례를 자신의 한시 창작에서 구현해 보였다. 조희룡이 문인의 시와 차별되는 화가의 시를 추구하였던 것이라 보인다. 유배지에서 시화에 몰두하여 자유자재로 창작하는 희열을 조희룡은 유희삼매(遊戲三昧)라는 말로 지칭하였으며, 그러한 경지에 이른 자신을 시로 형상화하였다. Cho Hee-ryong's artistic achievements and art theory have been under the spotlight from an early age. On the other hand, I think that his Chinese poems stayed at the level of commentary. Therefore, this paper tried to re-examine his exile poetry from the perspective of the analysis of works. Cho Hee-ryong was exiled to Imja-do, Jeolla-do in his later years and lived there for three years. I analyzed the personality and characteristics of his exile poetry using 『Uhaeakamgo』, which contains the works of poetry from this period. He preferred to write a series of short poems popular in the late Joseon Dynasty. In his poems depicting the scenery he saw during his exile and directly from the place of exile, he made a small landscape like a landscape painting. In addition, in < Hoein Jeolgu (懷人絶句) >, which inherits the tradition of his Hoein poetry(懷人詩), he especially lyrically evaluates the essence of a specific painter based on his own perspective as a painter. His poems narrated in a pleasant tone the daily feelings of exile, and he called himself a playful poem. Even in his poems, Buddhist language was used for jokes and humor. This seems to reflect the attitude of his life that he tried to live happily in exile. The world that Cho Hee-ryong was immersed in in exile was poetry and painting. He insisted on the traditional theory that poetry and painting are one, and further suggested a creative method of writing poetry through painting. This is a method of borrowing the meaning of a painting(畫意) and creating a poetry scene(詩境). He embodied such a creative method in his own poetry. Cho Hee-ryong pursued the poetry of a painter that was different from that of a writer. He referred to the joy of creating freely by immersing himself in poetry and painting with the word 'Playing Sammae(遊戲三昧)', and he also embodied himself in such a state of joy in his poems.

        유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양성평등적 성역할태도가 양육참여에 미치는 영향: 양육효능감의 매개효과

        본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양성평등적인 성역할태도가 실제적인 양육참여에 미치는 직접적인 영향과 양육효능감을 통한 간접적인 영향을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 한국아동패널의 7차년도(2014년) 자료를 활용하였으며 조사에 참여한 가구 중 연구변인에 모두 응답한 1,113 가구가 연구대상이며, 구조방정식모형(Structural Equation Modeling)을 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지의 양성평등적 성역할태도는 양육 참여에 직접적으로 영향을 미쳐, 아버지가 양성평등적인 태도를 지닐수록 실제적인 양육에 더 많이 참여하였다. 둘째, 아버지의 양성평등적 성역할태도가 양육효능감을 통해 간접적으로 양육참여에 영향을 미쳐, 아버지가 양성평등적인 태도를 지니는 것은 자녀를 양육함에 있어 자신에 대한 긍정적인 인식을 갖게 함으로써 결과적으로 양육에 더욱 참여하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 아버지의 가사와 육아참여의 중요성이 부각되는 현대사회에 아버지의 양육참여 증대를 위하여 양성평등적인 가치와 양육에 대한 긍정적인 인식과 자신감 함양이 아버지들에게 중요함을 시사한다. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of egalitarian gender role attitude on parental involvement of fathers with young children through parenting efficacy. The participants were 1,113 households from 7th wave(2014) of the ‘The Pane Study on Korean Children’. The data were analyzed with structural equation modeling. The results of this study were as follows. First, egalitarian gender role attitude of fathers with young children had a significant direct influence on parental involvement. Second, egalitarian gender role attitude of fathers had a significant indirect influence on parental involvement through parenting efficacy. The results of this study indicate that it is important for fathers to have an attitude of egalitarian gender role and raise positive efficacy of parenting to increase parental involvement.

        Neo-Victorian Novel and Empowerment: A. S. Byatt’s The Children's Book

        This essay aims to explore A. S. Byatt’s neo-Victorian novel in terms of her genealogical analysis of totalizing power focusing on how it is manipulated and deployed to form a dominant archive of knowledge. In doing so, it also examines how history can be used as genealogy to question and re-examine ideological assumptions about the Victorian era in The Children's Book (2009). The essay brings together these overlapping themes of power and genealogy to show how the neo-Victorian novel provides strategies for empowerment and resistance to totalizing pressures.

        Compression and truncation

        Compression and truncation are two general strategies adopted by languages in realizing tonal melodies in the face of time pressure. Compression involves adjustment of the phonetic details of tone realization to fit a tone sequence in the time available, while truncation involves deletion of a phonological tone, reducing a melody to fit the segmental material with which it must be associated. Seoul Korean appears to show truncation of tones in response to time pressure resulting from fast speech rate: the Accentual Phrase (AP) is canonically marked by a rise-fall-rise melody (LHLH), but at fast speech rates, APs can be realized with a rising F0 contour. Categorical tone deletion conditioned by speech rate would be theoretically significant because it would imply that a phonological operation can be conditioned by utterance-specific phonetic detail. However, analysis of the realization of the AP melody across a range of speech rates provides evidence that the apparent deletion of tones is actually the end result of compressing the final HLH sequence into such a short interval that the low tone is completely undershot and the two high tones are effectively merged. This analysis illustrates the general point that it is not possible to determine what phonological representation gave rise to a particular phonetic form without explicit analysis of the process of phonetic implementation.

      • Differences in Cold-weather Patterns over Northern Hemisphere According to Three Types of Sudden Stratospheric Warming during Boreal Winter Season

        Sudden stratospheric warming (SSW) is characterized by extreme polar vortex weakening accompanied by rapid temperature rising during winter season. This study shows the differences in cold-weather region, frequency, and intensity depending on the type of SSW through a composite analysis using reanalysis data during boreal winter season (1979-2014). The SSW types are classified into three groups, displacement-displacement (DD) type, displacement-split (DS) type, and split-split (SS) type based on temporal evolution in the morphology of stratospheric polar vortex. On subseasonal time scale, the near-surface temperature over Eurasia, including the Korea Peninsula, is cold during prewarming period for both DD and DS types. The cold anomaly over Eurasia significantly weakens for DS type during postwarming period. Simultaneously, cold weather over North America frequently occurs. For SS type, cold anomaly over Eurasia and North America tends to persist both during prewarming and postwarming periods although cold anomaly over North America is stronger. We confirm that near-surface temperature patterns in the three recent SSWs (2018, 2019, 2021) are similar to those expected by their types. The different evolution patterns in near-surface temperature anomaly over Eurasia and North America seem to be related to the tropospheric North Pacific ridge development. The timing and amplitude of upper-tropospheric ridge development in the North Pacific region by planetary-scale wave activity is consistent with the weakening of cold anomaly in Eurasia and strengthening of cold anomaly in North America.

        El mundo po?tico del reino Koryo (Corea) y de Espana musulmana

        El presente trabajo tiene la finalidad de comparar dos formas de poesías que florecieron casi en épocas semejantes y en las dos penínsulas opuestas del continente euroasiático: la poesía medieval del mundo musulmán de la península de Iberia y la poesía del reino Koryo de la península coreana. Koryo, que ocupó la mayor parte de la península coreana del Extremo Oriente entre el siglo X y el siglo XIV, fue un reino más internacional que cualquier otro reino de Corea, y durante su reinado llegaron a sus puertos comerciantes de diferentes pueblos: China, Japón, Arabia. Incluso en el siglo XIII un grupo de árabes llegó a establecerse en su reino cambiando hasta sus apellidos. En esta época nació un tipo de poesía cuyo tema era totalmente diferente de las poesías anteriores. Por otro lado, en la España musulmana nació una poesía llamada jarcha: una estrofa breve de dos o más versos que cantaban los mozárabes colocándola al final de la moaxaja. En este trabajo veremos las relaciones históricas entre el mundo árabe y Corea, durante el reino Koryo, y algunas similitudes entre ambas poesías aunque no podamos decir todavía con certeza sobre las posibles influencias entre las dos.
