This study was carried out to investigate the effects of the reactor conditions and some structural charactersistics of the substrates on densification of C/C Composites by Chcmical Vapor Deposition, using Isothermal process and propylene as a carbon source gas. With increasing temperature of the reactor, the rate of deposition was also increased, but above some temperature the pyrolytic carbon deposition occured more on the surface of substrates than on the inside of pores. The deposition rate was changed increasingly as the concentration of the source gas diluted with nitrogen was increased, but above some concentration the low density-sooty carbon was formed in the reactor. The effect of the flow rate of diluted gas was similar to that of the concentration. The total mass gain was grown up according as the reaction time used on CVD was grown up, but the mass gain ratio was become smaller. The results affected only by the initial density or initial porosity of the substrates were uncertain. The optimum conditions in this system were as follows: temperature of reactor :800℃ concentration of carbon source gas :20%vol. flow rate of carbon source gas :13.2cc/min

Generally, the totally paralyzed face can never be made normal by any of the current methods of reconstruction. Careful selection of patients based on sound judgment of what can and cannot be achieved by the proposed surgical technique is paramount to a successful operation and a satisfied patient. The results are related to time of delayed between injury and repair : the shorter the delay the better are the results. The objectives in correcting facial paralysis are to achieve normal appearance at rest ; symmetry with voluntary motion ; control of the ocular, oral, and nasal sphincter; symmetry with involuntary emotion and controlled balance when expressing when expressing emotion ; and no significant functional deficit secondary to the reconstructive surgery. It must be employed a number of concepts, for treatment of the paralyzed face by surgeon, depending on the cause, time interval, and wound characteristics, as well as the availability of and necessity for neuromuscular substitution. Nerve grafts, crossovers, muscle transfers, free muscle and nerve-muscle grafts, micronuerovascular muscle transfers, and regional muscle transpostion are the principal methods being developed. We applied the tmporal musle transposition for reanimation of unilatrally paralyzed faces for long times on two patients. The results of muscle transposition can be enhanced by the patient's learning to activate the transposed muscle by voluntary effort, and are best in patients who are motivated to learn the necessary motor-sensory coordination techniques.

목적: 2000년도에 이황화탄소 중독증 환자들과 대조군의 심박동수 변이를 비교하여 이황화탄소 중독증 환자들의 심박동수 변이가 대조군에 비해 유의하게 낮다는 연구보고가 있었다. 당시의 연구가 이황화탄소 노출이 중단된 상태에서 이황화탄소 중독자들의 건강 문제를 연구했다는 점에 의의가 있으나 연구 결과를 해석하는데 있어 제한점들이 있었다. 이 연구는 2000년도에 수행하였던 연구의 제한점을 극복하고 이황화탄소 노출이 중단된 이후의 이황화탄소 중독자들의 심혈관계 상태를 심박동수 변이를 이용하여 평가해보고자 하였다. 방법: 이황화탄소 중독증으로 진단받은 환자 122명과 환자군의 연령대와 성별 빈도에 따라 무작위 추출한 112명을 대조군으로 선정하였다. 자기 기입식 설문지와 건강검진을 통해 연령, 성별, 신장, 체중, 흡연, 음주, 규칙적 운동, 질병력, 직업력, 흉부 방사선 촬영, 심전도 측정을 실시하였다. 연구 대상자들은 의자에 앉힌 상태에서 5분 동안 심박동수 변이를 측정하였다. 이 연구에서 측정한 심박동수 변이 지표들은 정상 RR간격의 표준편차(standard deviation of all norma-to-normal intervals, SDNN), 인접한 RR간격들의 차이를 제곱의 합의 평균의 제곱근(square root of the mean of the sum of squares of differences between adjacent normal-to-normal intervals, RMSSD). 저주파영역(low frequency power, LF: 0.04~0.15Hz), 고주파 영역 (high frequency power, HF:0.15~0.4Hz), 전체 주파수 강도(total power, TP), 저주파/고주파 비 (LF/HF ratio)이다. 결과: 단변량 분석에서 이황화탄소 중독자들의 모든 심박동수 변이 지표들이 대조군에 비하여 낮았다. 다중선형회귀분석에서 이황화탄소 중독은 RMSSD를 유의하게 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다.(P<0.05). 결론: 이 연구는 이황화탄소 노출이 중단된 상태에서도 이황화탄소 중독자들에게 심혈관계와 관련된 건강문제가 있을 수 있음을 시사한다. Objectives: A previous study conducted in 2000 measuring the heart rate variability (HRV) of carbon disulfide (CS_(2))-poisoned subjected suggested that their HRV was reduced after exposure cessation. However, the study was limited by the following procedural limitations: (1) only 71 CS_(2)-poisoned subjects participated, (2) no females participated, and (3) the CS_(2)-poisoned subjects were older than the controls. This study was therefore conducted to overcome these limitations of the earlier study. Methods: The study subjects comprised 122 retired workers with CS_(2) poisoning and the same number of age- and sex-matched controls. Information on individual age, sex, height, wight, smoking history, alcohol drinking, regular exercise, medical and occupational history, chest x-ray, and ECG recording of the two groups was collected though a self-administered questionnaire and a medical examination. Standard Deviation of NN intervals (SDNN), Root-Mean-Square of Successive Differences (RMSSD), Total Power (TP), Low Frequency (LF), High Frequency (HF), and LF/HF ratio were measured as HRV indices for 5 minutes in the sitting position. Results: Univariate analysis revealed that all HRV indices of CS_(2)-poisoned subjected were lower than those of the controls. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that CS_(2) poisoning had negative association with all HRV indices and that its association with RMSSD was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions: This study suggests that CS_(2)-poisoned subjects continue to have reduced HRV, even though the exposure has ceased.

Periosteum in general is described as a specialized fibrous membrane of mesenchymal origin consisting of two basis layers : outer fibrous layer consists of irregularly arranged dense connective-tissue with fibroblasts, and inner osteogenic or cambial layer is composed of more loosely arranged fibers, greater vascularity and flatted spindle-shaped pre-osteoblasts. This periosteum may serve in controlling bone growth, especially mandibular growth has been emphasized. But, the periosteum enwrapping the facial skeleton have been studied for many years leaving a controversy in opinion regarding the function of these structures. We evaluated the bone formation activity of te periosteum in allogeneic bone grafts which bones are made of freeze-dried preparation preoperatively. We made the calvarial bone defects, 5×7mm sized, amd grafted with allogeneic bone in rats, which a half of specimens has dissected the overlying periosteum and a rest intacted. After bone grafting, we evaluated the capacity ofbone formation of periosteum, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks postoperatively. There are subtle differences of bone formation during early healing period after demineralized allogeneic bone grafting between control groups with periosteum and experimental groups without periosteum.

Pseudomembranous colitis, caused by altering the normal colonic flora and allowing the multiplication of Clostridium difficile, is an deleterious adverse effect of antibiotics. But it is rarely reported by rifampicin. Rifampicin is one of the first line drug in the treatment of tuberculosis and many patients are exposed to its potential adverse effects. We experienced a patient that had abdominal discomfort and hematochezia due to pseudomembranous colitis after receiving antituberculous medication, and which was probably caused by rifampicin. A 82 years old man was admitted with abdominal discomfort and hematochezia for one week. On the past history he had been diagnosed as endobronchial tuberculosis about 4 months ago. Colonoscopy revealed multiple discrete whitish mucosal lesion on rectosigmoid colon, and histologic findings were consistent with pseudomembranous colitis. The antituberculous agents were discontinued and vancomycin was administered. The patient's symptoms were resolved within several days. There was no recurrence after reinstitution of the antituberculous agents excluding rifampicin. We report here on a case of pseudomembranous colitis probably due to rifampicin.

1,5-펜타메틸렌 디이소시아네이트를 이용한 바이오 기반 수분산 폴리우레탄의 합성 및 특성 연구

바이오 기반의 isosorbide carbonate diol과 1,5-pentamethylene diisocyanate를 함께 이용하거나 1,5-pentamethylene diisocyanate만을 적용시킨 환경친화적인 폴리우레탄 접착제(WPIP)를 제조하였다. 사슬 연장제인 ethylene diamine(EDA)의 함량에 따라 WPIP를 제조하였고, FTIR과 ¹H NMR을 사용하여 WPIP의 합성을 확인하였다. 또한 DSC와 TGA를 통해 열적 특성인 유리전이온도 및 열분해 온도가 EDA의 함량이 높아질수록 향상되는 것을 확인하였고, UTM을 사용하여 WPIP의 접착 및 기계적 특성을 평가한 결과, prepolymer의 ratio of NCO/OH가 1.3일 때 접착 및 인장 강도가 가장 우수하였다. A new eco-friendly biopolyurethane adhesives (WPIP) were prepared by using bio-based isosorbide carbonate diol, 1,5-pentamethylene diisocyanate or 1,5-pentamethylene diisocyanate. WPIP was manufactured according to the content of ethlyene diamine (EDA) as the chain extender, and synthesized WPIP was confirmed by using FTIR and ¹H NMR. Through DSC and TGA, it was confirmed that the thermal properties such as glass transition temperature and thermal decomposition temperature were improved as the content of EDA was increased. Mechanical and adhesive properties were evaluated by UTM. When the ratio of NCO/OH of prepolymer was 1.3, tensile and adhesive strength were the best.
