        College Students’ Identity Negotiation Through Teacher Feedback and Revision in EFL Writing

        This qualitative study explores how EFL writer identities are negotiated, imposed, or assumed while they attend to teacher feedback and utilize it in their revisions. The study focused on two college students: K and J. The data came from interviews with each student and students’ drafts, first and final, for each of four assignments, along with their teacher’s comments. For K and J, some identities were ascribed by their native English?speaking teacher, while others were claimed by the individual her or himself. J was very comfortable with the assumed identity of a non?native speaker, while K struggled to negotiate her identity as an EFL writer, resisting the suggestions of her native English?speaking teacher in revisions. K, with a strong sense of self, made her own choices about which identity she would choose from her available repertoire. She quite deliberately gained a L2 writer identity. For J, his ideological subjectivity as a dependent foreigner in an EFL writing classroom did not foster a stronger sense of identity as a L2 writer. The teacher predominantly focused on language errors and tended to see EFL writing mostly as language practice. Consequently, his pedagogical decisions limited J’s access to a more desirable L2 writer identity.

        This study was designed to exam the aged's needs for spiritual nursing care. The purpose was to serve as a basis for the development of spiritual nursing practice. The major findings are as follows : 1. The degree of needs for spiritual nursing care as area was that needs of love and relationship mean 22.0, needs of meaning and object mean 28.2, needs of forgiving mean 13.5. Total needs for spiritual nursing care mean 63.7, which was on the upper middle level. The needs of meaning and object was rated highest. 2. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of love and relatiohship wasn't significanlty different. 3. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of meaning and object was significantly different according to two factors : age(F=7.260, p=0.001), religion(F=5.275, p=0.001). Higher needs of meaning and object was possessed by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other. 4. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, four factors made a significantly difference to needs of forgiving : sex(t=-2.851, p=0.006), age(F=8.201, p=0.001), religion(F=6.928, p=0.000), disease(t=2.327, p=0.024). Higher needs of forgiving was possessed by man than woman, by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other, by the one who have disease than the other.

      • 개에서 발생한 만성 단독 비장 염전의 진단 및 치료 1례

        A 5-year-old German Shepherd dog(intact male, 27kg) was admitted to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with the history of anorexia and vomiting. On physical examination, he was depressed and had abdominal distention. A complete blood count indicated leukocytosis and anemia. Radiographic findings included a large soft tissue mass in the middle to caudal abdomen and loss of serosal detail. Ultrasonographs showed splenomegaly with mixed ethoic parenchyma, hyperechoic area around the splenic hilus, and loss of venous flow. Computed tomography revealed enlarged spleen with partially enhanced parenchyma. Chronic isolated splenic torsion was diagnosed and splenectomy was performed. Histopathologic examination revealed chronic passive congestion of the spleen. He was recovered normally after surgery without any complications.

      • 고양이에서 영양학적인 원인에 의해 발생한 속발성 부갑상선기능항진증 1례

        A 10 month-old Korean domestic shorthaired cat(male, 1.4kg)was admitted to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with the history of astasia the onest of which was 3 month ago and all-meat diets. Physical examination revealed thin, growth retarded and lying in lateral recumbency. Radiograph showed abnormally radiolucent bones, thin cortices, kyphosis and lordosis of the spine and multiple fractures of the femurs. Result of serum biochemical test revealed mild hypocarcemia. Serum parathormone and 1, 25(OH)2-vitamin D3 levels were markedly elevated, whereas 25(OH)-vitamin D3 level was in normal range. Nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism was diagnosed by history taking, physical examination, laboratory examination and radiography. Calcium gluconate with balanced commercial cat food was given. On 24 days later, improvements were found in clinical signs and radiographs.

      • Helicobacter pylori와 대장균의 Shuttle Vector 개발

        In this study, a vehicle vector using cryptic plasmids was constructed for gene transfer in Helicobacter pylori. pHP51(3.9 kb) and pHP489(1.2 kb) were selected for constructing vectors from cryptic plasmid of H. pylori isolates in Korea. The HindⅢ-digestedDNA fragment(1.2kb) of pHP489 and 1.6kb DNA fragment of pHP51 were ligated with a kanamycin resistance gene(aph3'-Ⅲ) from C. jejuni to produce the recombinant plasmids pHP489K and pHP51K, respectively. Transformation frequency of pHP51K by electroporation was low. But pHP489K could be effectively transformed into various H. pylori strains. In order to design an intermdiate vehicle vector for gene transfer into H. pylori, pBlueHP489K was prepared by recloning pHP489K DNA into pBluescript and pTZ19R vector. This vector permitted the DNA fragment containing pHP489 sequence, aph3'-Ⅲ, and cloned DNA to be cut and self-ligated in the SacⅠ site after cloning. ureA and ureB gene were inserted into pBlueHP489K, resulting in pBlueHP489K/AB. The DNA fragment containing pHP489, kanamycin resistance gene(aph3'-Ⅲ), and urease structural gene was cut away from pBlueHP489K/AB and self-ligated to generate pBlueHP489K/AB. pBlueHP489K/AB made urease-negative H. pylori strains restore their urease activity. By this experiment, pBlueHP489K was confirmed to be the vehicle system for transferring H. pylori genes.

        창조적 지식 기반 사회를 대비한 국어과 교육의 목표와 내용

        본고는 창조적 지식 기반사회에서 가장 중요한 국어과 교육의 목표는 언어 사용 기능의 신장이며, 이를 실현시키기 위한 교육 내용에 대해 논의하였다. 일부 국어교육학계에서 기능은 하찮고 저열한 것으로 인식되기도 하였으나, 이는 지식의 개념을 명제적 지식에 국한하여 생각하고 기능을 지식과 별개의 것으로 잘못 인식한 데서 기인한 것이다. 본고는 명제적 지식과 방법적 지식의 관계를 탐구하여 기능 학습에 관한 이론을 두 가지로 정리하였다. 하나는 명제적 지식을 우선하여 이를 연습하고 내재화하는 가운데 기능 학습이 이루어진다고 보는 것이며, 다른 하나는 명제적 지식을 전제하지 않고 다양한 경험과 활동을 통해 기능 학습이 이루어진다는 것이다. 전자는 학습 활동이 용이하고 체계적이라는 점에서, 후자는 앎의 과정을 보다 중시한다는 점에서 장점을 갖고 있으나, 한 편으로 전자는 명제적 지식의 성격이 기능 학습에 유효한 것이어야 한다는 검과, 후자는 실제 수업이 이루어지기 위해서 치밀한 계획과 준비가 필요하다는 점에서 문제점도 안고있었다. 3차 국어과 교육과정은 후자의 방법을, 6차와 7차 국어과 교육과정은 전자와 같은 인식을 보이고 있으나, 논의가 개념 수준에서 이루어져 언어 사용 기능 교육이 제대로 이루어지기 어렵다는 한계를 갖는다. 따라서 국어과 교육의 논의는 개념 수준에서 벗어나 실시간과 실공간 속에서 학생들이 무엇을 어떻게 배울 것인지를 구체적으로 제시하는, 곧 수업화ㆍ자료화하는 실질적이고도 기술적인(technical) 논의로 바뀌어야 한다고 본다. Aim and Content of Korean Language Education for a Society Based on Creative Knowledge This thesis argues the improvement of language use skill that is the most important aim of Korean language education in a society based on creative knowledge and the education contents to achieve it. Some Korean language educators regard skill as worthlessness and vulgarity. However it results from the misunderstanding that the concept of knowledge is limited to knowing that and that skill is entirely different from knowledge. This paper summarizes the theory on skill study in two ways by researching the relations between knowing that and Know-how. One is that skill study is done in the process of exercising and internalizing knowing that preferentially and the other is that it's done through a lot of experiences and actives without any premise of knowing that. These have respective merits : former has the easiness and systematic of skill study and the latter thinks highly of the processing of knowledge. On the contrary, there are problems : in case of the former, the content of knowing that should be effective to skill study and the latter needs accurate plan and preparation for actual study. The 3rd education course in Korean language with latter method and the 6th and 7th without former on place a limit that the argument only in concept level makes the actual language use skill difficult. Therefore the argument of Korean language education should be changed to actual and technical one to present in detail what and how students learn in real time and real space.

      • Ts65Dn 다운신드롬 모델 생쥐에서 프로테아좀 활성의 노화 의존적 변화

        TsSSDn 생쥐는 생쥐 염색체 16번의 부분적인 trisomy를 포함하면서, 사람의 21번 염색체의 trisomy로 인하여 생기는 다운신드롬의 동물 모델로서, Alzheimer's disease (AD)등에서도 나타나는 인지 작용 저해와 학습 장애 연구 등에 이용되고 있다. 이러한 퇴행성 신경질환은 대부분 노화와 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있는데, 따라서, 본 연구는 이 Ts65Dn 생쥐 뇌의 hippocampus에서 노화에 따른 프로테아좀 활성의 변화를 보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 1-2 개월, 4개월, 12개월의 각기 다른 나이의 실험군 들을 선택하여, 효소활성측정과 Western blot 분석을 이용하여, 그의 노화에 따른 변화를 측정하였다. 먼저,7s65Dn생쥐는, Fl (생쥐종 대조군), LM (littermate normosomy 대조군) 생쥐와 함께 프로테아좀 활성의 노화에 따른 증가를 보였다. 특징적으로 그 증가의 정도가 7s65Dn 생쥐에서 가장 크게 나 타났으며, 특히 4개월의 7s65Dn 생쥐는, Fl과 LM 생쥐에서는 변화가 없었음에 반해, 1-2 개월 개체에 비하여 프로테아좀 활성이 유의성 있게 증가된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통하여 AD나 다운 신드롬 등에서 노화와 프로테아좀의 활성은 직접적으로 연관되 어 조절되고 있으며 이는 궁극적으로 인지 작용의 저해를 설명할 수 있다고 생각된다. Segmental trisomy 16, Ts65Dn mice is a model of human trisomy 21(Down's syndrome; DS) and also mimics some aspects of Alzheimer's disease (AD). We determined proteasome activities in the hippocampus of Ts65Dn mice at the various ages.Ts65Dn mice did not show significant differences compared to Fl, parental strain control mice and LM, littermate normosomic control mice, at 1-2 months of age. All experimental groups, Ts65Dn, Fl, LM mice, showed age-dependent increase of proteasome activity by 12 months of age. However, only Ts65Dn mice showed significant increase of proteasome activity at 4 months of age compared to 1-2 months of age. These results indicate that the increased proteasome activities are potentially related to aging associated biochemical events in the process of the cognitive deficits, which are found in AD or DS.

      • 빈혈 여고생의 영양섭취상태와 영양교육효과에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 울산 지역 여고생 450명을 대상으로 혈액검사를 통하여 hemoglobin수치가 12g/㎗이하로 빈혈로 판정된 여고생의 영양 섭취 상태와 식생활 습관을 조사하여 전체여고생의 결과와 비교하였으며 영양교육 후의 빈혈증상의 개선효과를 알아보았다. 빈혈로 판정된 여고 1년생의 신장은 161.27±4.41cm, 체중은 51.18±5.73kg, 평균신체중량지수(BMI)는 19.70±2.01, PIBW(percent ideal body weight)는 93.04±9.70%으로 빈혈수치가 기준치 이상인 여고생보다 체중과 BMI가 약간 낮게 나타났으나 유의적인 차이를 나타내지는 않았다. 빈혈 여고생의 영양소 섭취량은 권장량에 못미치는 것으로 나타나, 열량 섭취량은 권장량의 73.1%를 나타내었으며, 단백질은 권장량의 88.3%, 칼슘은 권장량의 59.8%, 철분은 권장량의 69.5%에 해당하였다. 빈혈여고생의 식습관의 문제점을 보면 '자주 식사를 거른다'는 44.5%, '음식을 먹다가 남기는 경우가 많다'는 18.9%, '맵고 짠 음식을 좋아한다'는 52.7%, '식사시간이 불규칙적이다'에서는 전체의 62.1%가 해당하였다. 빈혈여고생의 영양교육 후의 임상 증상의 변화를 보면 '우울하다(P<0.05)', '집중력이 감소한다(P<0.001)', '기억력이 떨어진다(P<0.05)'는 증상이 감소되었다. 빈혈이 아닌 정상 여고생의 경우도 영양교육 후의 '식욕이 없다(P<0.001)'. '감기에 잘 걸린다(P<0.001)', '우울하다(P<0.05)', '집중력이 떨어진다(P<0.001)', '기억력이 떨어진다(P<0.001)'는 임상증상이 유의적으로 감소되었다. 본 연구결과 영양교육으로 대상자의 빈혈증상은 유의적으로 개선된 것으로 나타나, 철분 요구량이 높은 여고생에 있어 철분 영양상태에 대한 중요성과 철분 섭취량 및 식이와의 관련성, 철분보충에 관한 지속적인 영양교육은 반드시 필요하다고 본다. This study was designed to assess nutritional intake and dietary habit of high school girls who diagnosed anemia and nutrition education effect. The average height and weight of anemia respondents were 161.27±4.41cm and 51.18±5.73kg. The average BMI was 19.70±2.01 and PIBW (percent ideal body weight) were 93.04±9.70%. As for the average calories and nutrient intake, the intake levels of all other nutrients were below the RDA except vitamin A, vitamin C. Total calories were consumed less than 73.1% of RDA. The iron intakes of anemia respondents were 69.5% of RDA and the Ca intakes were 59.8% of RDA. As for the problem of dietary habits, 44.5% of subjects reported that 'skipping a meal frequently' was the problem. 62.1% of subjects answered that 'irregular meal time' was the problem and 70.2% of subjects reported that 'eating too much at a time occasionally' was the problem. The anemia symptoms such as 'Feeling blue(P<0.05)', 'Decreased ability to concentrate(P<0.001)', 'Poor memory(P<0.05)' improved significantly after nutritional education. In this study, nutrition education were efficacious in improving anemic symptoms of high school girls who diagnosed anemia. Regular check-ups and nutrition education for adolescents are necessary because of their vulnerability to iron deficiency.
