Located at the far corner of the vast Asian continent, Korea has, in many instances in the past, distances itself from the rest of the world. It was not for nothing that Korea was called the "Hermit Kingdom." Interpreters, by definition, usually work by themselves, sometimes with one partner in simultaneous, or less often, with a team of interpreter that can number anywhere from four to twenty or thirty. In such a way, interpreters and Korean interpreter, par excellence, live in a very confined world. By introducing the activities of groups or associations around the world such as AIIC (Association International des Interpretes de Conference) and the KSCI (Korean Society of Conference Interpretation), this paper aims to give Korean interpreters a sense of belonging to a larger group and to spur them into realizing that what they do makes a difference. By doing so, this paper may contribute to retaining competent interpreters inter profession.

This paper proposes the LSF or LSP that is the method of using to transfer the speech parameters after processed the speech to LPC, which is digital coding transferring efficiently, for the best quality and the lowest bit rate of parameters. The new revised transform algorithms between LSF and LPC coefficients are proposed. The proposed algorithms eliminates all multiplications, computes fewer operations, and reduces memory buffer sizes.
Metal Oxide Sensor를 이용한 알코올 분석

A resistance value of the metal oxide sensor for alcohols was measured by metal oxide senor (FOX2000). T30/1 sensor showed the best response to propanols. The pattern analysis could be measured to ppm and resistance could be processed as various forms. We could find that six sensor responses for propanols were better than those of methanol, when alcohols were displayed at the same time on the radar axis plane with maximum value of △R/Ro by sensors. Alcohols and distilled water were analysed with a principle component and they could be confirmed as being separated clearly.
Metal Oxide Sensor Array를 이용한 사과와 귤의 신선도 분석

The Electronic Nose has been designed to provide objective and reproducible aroma discrimination on a wide variety to human nose. The sensor array in combination with sophisticated chemometrics and artificial neural network software provides the output displaying the closeness of difference in aroma patterns of different samples. As an application the system has been used to discriminate of the fresh and decomposing apples and oranges. The discrimination has been successfully demonstrated.
