Yi-Hwang philosophy represents Korean philosophy in company with Yul-Gok(栗谷)philosophy. Yi-Hwang illustrates the form of Existence-structure of all things from I and Ki(氣)as well as the traditional Confucianists. But he attaches great importance to the I. Therefore, the writer intends to examine the I in Yi-Hwang philosophy multilaterally. 1. Yi-Hwang states the relative I in the structure of the profound harmony of I and Ki, in spite of it, he emphasizes the absolute I that can exist without the Ki. 2. Yi-Hwang explains the I as Being-principle and Ought-principle, but he rather puts a stress on the Ought-principle than Being-principle. 3. Yi-Hwang makes plain his I-Ki doctrine in Cosmology and the theory of Human Nature, but he concentrates upon the I in the theory of Human Nature. 4. Yi-Hwang claims the action of the I, in that stand point, he differs from Chutzu(朱子)and Yul-Gok(栗谷). It is the distinctive feature of Yi-Hwang philosophy. But it has some problems logically. Eventually the above things originates from the ethical viewpoint of Yi-Hwang philosophy. Besides, they have the meaning of supplement of Chu-tzu's in sufficiency.

Yi-I's 'I-Ki-li-Myo' thouht has been suggested by many confucianists already. However, it is really accepted by Yi-I and makes up aessential problem in his philosophy. Therefore, the writer thinks that essence of Yi-J's philosophy is 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' and describes this treatise as a preparation for a genuine study on that problem. First of all, we would summarize a fundamental problem of comprehension of Yi-I's philosophy as follows: First, Yi-I showed his creativity in succession to neo-confucianism. In particular, we can see his opening character of science in his critical acceptance of heretical sciences unlike Yi-Hwang, and find his sciential independence in his attitude to elder philosophers. Secondly, Yi-I Comprehends the universe-nature through the subjective awakening of human being. That is, he tries to solve the problems of Tai Geuk-Eum Yang(太極-陰陽) and I-Ki(理·氣) within mind and nature of human being. And besides, a tendency willing to grasp the problems of the universe-nature and the Absolute by focussing on human being is remarkable in Yi-I. Thirdly, Yi-I attitude to elder philosophers is classified by ethical aspects, and it is found thgough his criticism of Yi-Oˇn-Joˇk and Jo-Kwang-Jo. And then, let's adjust the origin of 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' thought which is the fundamental view-point of Yi-I's philosophy. First, 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' thought is derived from I-Ching(易經). Because neo-confucianism has a basis on I-Ching, and also I-Ki-Ji-Myo' thought of Yi-I is derived from Tai-Geuk-Eum-Yang theory or Principle-Form-Figure(理-象-數) theory of I-Ching, In addition, 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' of Yi-I in fact is no more than an other expression of I-Ching's theory. Secondly, it originates from neo-confucianism. We can see the beginning through 'Jin-Jeoung-Ji-Myo'(眞精之妙) within 'Tai-Geuk-Do-Searl'(太極圖說) of Chou-Lien-Chi(周濂溪) and find the origin in thinking of unitary Do-Ki(道-器) and unitary Seoung-Ki(性-氣) of Cheng-Ming-Tao(程明道). And besides, Yi-I has set up 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' thought with succeeding to Chu-Tzu (朱子)'s standpoint to see I-Ki(理-氣) as one thing and at the same time to see it as the different thing. Thirdly, it is derived from Korea-confucianism Jeoung-Yeo-Chang(鄭汝昌)'s 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' thought is the most closely related with Yi-I's philosophy. And again, Yi-I respects Jo-Kwang-Jo(趙光祖) as the originetor of Ethics(道學). That is, the beginning of 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' is contained in Jo-Kwang-Jo's statements. Therefore, with essence of ethics consisting in indivibility of originality and reality, Ethics of Jo-Kwang-Jo is a pioneer of 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' thought. In addition, 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' thought of Yi-I is derived from philosophy of Hwa-Dam(花潭) and Yi-Hwang(李滉). Namely, Yi-I has over come both Hma-Dam's tendency to emphasize Ki(氣) and Yi-Hwang's tendency to emphasize I(理) in the position of higher degree, and has formed his 'I-Ki-Ji-Myo' thought in his excellent harmonization with Hwa-Dam's monism and Yi'Hmang's dualism.
Primary intraosseous carcinoma of the mandible

A very uncommon tumor, primary intraosseous carcinoma (PIOC), is a carcinoma arising within the jaw. The definite diagnosis of PIOC is often difficult as the lesion must be distinguished from alveolar carcinoma that may invade the bone from the overlying soft tissues or from the tumors that have metastasized to the jaw from a distant site. A case of PIOC arising in the mandible is presented. The clinical, radiologic, and histologic features are described. This rare lesion should be considered in any differential diagnosis of a jaw radiolucency.

'내 님을 그리사와 우니다니...'로 시작하는 정과정곡은 고려시새부터 전해져 오는 가요이다. 님을 그리는 마음이 잘 표현된 노래의 가사에 새로운 숨결을 불어넣어 이 시대에 다시 불리는 노래로 만들어 보았다. 전통가곡의 분위기를 바탕으로 하여 전통과 현대가 함께 조화를 이루도록 하였다.
전도도법에 의한 치환 피리딘들의 해리상수 측정과 그의 온도와 압력에 따른 영향

Generally, pyridine and most of substituted pyridines act as base in aqueous solutions. The strengths of their basicities can be expressed quantitatively by the dissociation constant of base or its conjugated acid. Generally, the acidity of substituted pyridines can be expressed by K_a of the following reaction. ◁그림 삽입▷ (원문을 참조하세요) The dissociation constants of these subtituted pyridines have not been reported under high pressure but under atmospheric pressure. In this papers, the dissociation constants of some substituted pyridines were measured under high pressure by the conductometry. From the ionic conductivity of hydrogen ion, the dissociation constants (K_a) were calculated. The K_a values were increased with increasing temperature and were decreased with increasing presure. The charateristics of dissociation process of some substituted pyridines were deduced from the thermodynamic properties calculated from the dissociation constants.
형질변형성장인자가 손상골 재생능에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구

The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of TGF-β1, which promotes differentiation and proliferation of osteoblasts, on bone regeneration. Experimental bone defects that measured 3 mm in diameter were created on the mandibles of guinea pig by removal of bone with the use of trephine burns. In one side of mandibular body the experimental groups, bone defects were grafted with Biogran(Orthovita Co., U.S.A.) and TGF-β1(R&D System Co., U.S.A.). IN the remaining side of the mandiblar body, the control groups, bone defects were grafted with only Biogran. Guinea pigs in the control and experimental groups were serially terminated by fours on the 3 days, the 1 week, the 2 weeks, the 3 weeks, and the 4 weeks after experiment, and both sides of the mandibular bodies were removed and fixed with 10% neutral formalin. They were decalcified and embedded in paraffin as using the usual method. The specimen sectioned and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Also, they were radiographed with a soft X-ray apparatus The obtained results were as follows; 1. Hemorrhagic condition, observed in the granulation tissues, disappeared on the 1 week after experiment in both groups, and more prominent in the experimental group. The granulation tissues of the experimental group had larger number of cells than those of the control group. 2. Osteoblastic differentiation in the margin of grafted material and adjacent bone was observed on the 1 week after experimental in both groups. Also, bone formation was observed in immature form on the 1 week after experiment, and more prominent in the experimental group. 3. In the polarizing microscopic examination, bone matrix was very loose on the 1 week after experiment, but increase in density with time, and more prominent in the experimental group. 4. In the microradiographic examination, newly formed bone was observed in the experimental group on the 2 weeks after experiment, and this was observed earlier than in the control group. Newly formed bone was increased with time and defected area was markedly decreased on the 4 weeks after experiment.

After liberation in Korea, July 15 1945, the Korean Peninsula divided into two areas boundary 38 parallel. Therefore the issue of 1946's was the building of the Unified nation State in Korean Peninsula. As for the international solution of this Korean problem, the Committee of the U.S and the U.S.S.R was opened, but failed in the difference of solution points. The two nations, U.S and U.S.S.R, didn't concede to each other, because they tried to accomplish their position for their nation's profits. The inter-nation political powers also separated into several groups. The Left-Right Wing Coalition Movement in Korea started at this inter and internation situations. The goals of the Coalition Movement(1946.5-1947.12) was the building of the Unified nation state through the Korean Peninsula. The ideological distribution of that time was the very wide range from Right to Left, the Coalition Movement tried to converge every political groups. But because of the transition of the political situation in 1946's, the Coalition Movement was drove by the neutrality powers in ideological tendency. The coalition powers tried to build the unified nation state on the basis of consideration and cognition of the inter and international reality that time. The support powers of this Movement were very wide among the people. And political thought of Coalition Movement is to regulate as the social democracy. This Coalition Movement, was failed, is to remain with a lot of suggestions in the present Korean Peninsula, having divided into two areas boundary 38 parallel during 50 years after liberation.

Though Confucianism as a traditional thought and the idea of Saemaeul Movement don't have the direct-same sources, it is not that Saemaeul Movement has no relations with Confucianism as a traditional thought at all, because it is impossible for any thought and system of idea to have no relations with the historical tradition. Therefore, this dissertation tried to search the possibilities of the same sources in the traditional thought of Confucianism and Saemaeul Movement, to mean the ideal complement and the philosophical deepening of Saemaeul Movement. It's contents will be summarized as follows; (1) The ultimate goal of Saemaeul Movement is that people live well as people. The dignity and the equality for the human-being and the point of view that regards the human being as the active subject for the creation of the history are placed in it. These agree to the humanism in Confucianism and the world of Dae Dong (大同) is just in touch with the idea of Saemaeul Movement. (2) Saemaeul Movement seeks the happiness of the individual people and the prosperity of the fatherland. These are well explained as the self-help and the cooperation in Saemaeul Movement. And then, Confucianism also is based on the structure of the self-discipline (修己) and the well-being of people (安民). (3) The concrete contents of Saemaeul Movement seek the economic wealth and the ethical goodness. Probably it means to live well. And then, Confucianism also seeks both of the justice(義理) and the practical profit (實利) individually and nationally, for it regards the life (生) and the justice (義) as the being-structure or the being-principle of man. Saying in other words, it seeks the economic and the ethical value. Nevertheless, it is the basic spirit of Confucianism to evaluate the ethical value more importantly then the economic value, though the economy is necessary for our life. Therefore, the way that Saemaeul Movement is to progress in the future is determined in this point.

Purpose : To find statistically based information about the natural variation in the length of the styloid process and to show the influence of the gender and age on the length of the styloid process. Materials and Methods : 1,300 panoramic radiographs were retrieved from inactive files at the Dental Hospital of Kyung Hee University. Measurements of the length of the styloid process were made directly on the radiographs from the inferior margin of the tympanic plate to the tip of the styloid process. Results : The mean length of 948 styloid processes was 25.2 mm±6.6. The median was 24.5 mm, and the interquartile range was 7 mm. The mean length was 25.7 mm for male and 24.6 mm for female. All percentile was greater for male than for female. The median is 25 mm for male and 24 mm for female. Conclusion : This study suggests that the difference of the styloid process length between genders was statistically significant and the length of styloid process was significant increased with age until 30 years.
