        Protective Effects of Gypenosides against Fatty Liver Disease Induced by High Fat and Cholesterol Diet and Alcohol in Rats

        In the present study, the protective effects of gypenosides from Gynostemma pentaphyllum on fatty liver disease (FLD) were examined in rats treated with high fat and cholesterol diet and alcohol. Male SD rats were divided into seven groups: control, model, lovastatin, silymarin, gypenosides high-, medium- and low-treatment groups. The latter 6 groups were fed high-fat and cholesterol diet and administered alcohol intragastricly once a day. Body weight was measured every week for 10 weeks, and the hepatic index was measured after 10 weeks. Compared with model group, levels of serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), free fatty acid (FFA), and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level, malondialdehyde (MDA), serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) activity, and hepatocyte apoptosis were significantly decreased in gypenosides groups; while serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in both serum and hepatic tissue and mRNA and protein level of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPAR-α) were significantly increased. Moreover, hepatic steatosis and mitochondrial damage were improved. These results suggested that gypenosides could prevent liver fatty degeneration in fatty liver disease through modulating lipid metabolism, ameliorating liver dysfunction and reducing oxidative stress.

        Trajectory Tracking Control for Nonholonomic Wheeled Mobile Robots with External Disturbances and Parameter Uncertainties

        Aiming at the trajectory tracking problem of nonholonomic wheeled mobile robots (WMR) with bounded external disturbances and parameter uncertainties, a dual-loop attitude tracking robust controller is proposed for WMR. Firstly, a kinematic controller is designed to generate the virtual velocity based on the kinematic error model. Secondly, the sliding mode control with a modified reaching law is adopted to ensure the actual velocity can converge to the virtual velocity in finite time based on the dynamic model. Finally, the stability of the controller is verified through the Lyapunov function. Numerical simulation shows the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed dual-loop tracking controller.

      • Innovations in the Application of E-services in the Perspective of Dual-channel Integration

        The rapid development of information technology and e-commerce has been gradually changing people's consuming habits and lifestyles. As e-services have extensive applications, the e-service platform has become an effective way to deliver services. In order to cater to different demands of consumers, enterprises have established the online channel and integrated it with the traditional channel. Improving the integration quality between these channels requires coordination between online and offline activities, including online e-services and offline experiences. In this paper, we attempt to explore, on the basis of the two-channel integration theory, the innovation in the application of e-services during the process of channel integration and some key issues in the dual-channel integration. The innovation redefines the main role of e-services, the e-service platform system, and the content of e-services.

        Adaptive Output Feedback Control for Switched Stochastic Nonlinear Systems with Time-varying Parameters and Unknown Output Functions

        In this paper, we discuss the adaptive output feedback control problem for switched stochastic nonlinear systems which involve uncertain time-varying parameters and unknown output functions. The drift terms together with diffusion terms meet the conditions for linear growth with unknown rate. Firstly, an adaptive output feedback controller is proposed based on the backstepping method. Then, by using the stochastic Lyapunov stability theorem, all signals of the closed-loop system are proven to be bounded in probability and the system states are almost certain to reach the origin under arbitrary switching. Finally, a numerical example is provided to test the reliability of the proposed method.

        Standoff Tracking of a Moving Target for Quadrotor Using Lyapunov Potential Function

        This paper presents a control scheme for standoff tracking of a ground moving target by a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The control system is decoupled into outer loop for position control and inner loop for attitude regulation. In the outer loop design, the standoff motion of the vehicle is described in a cylindrical coordinate system attached to the target. After that, the standoff tracking guidance law is designed based on a Lyapunov potential function which can guarantee the stability of the movement. The acceleration signals are produced from the proposed guidance law, and converted to Euler angle commands for the inner control system. A integral backstepping controller is developed to stabilize the attitude of the quadrotor. In particular, the disturbance observer technique is used to deal with the correction terms that account for a non-uniform moving target and constant wind. Numerical simulations are performed to verify the feasibility and performance of the proposed control scheme.

        Stability and Stabilization of Stochastic Systems with Multiplicative Noise

        In this paper, stability and stabilization of linear stochastic time-invariant systems are studied based on spectrum technique. Firstly, the relationship among mean square exponential stability, asymptotical mean square stability, second-order moment exponential stability and the spectral location of the systems is revealed with the help of a spectrum operator LA,C. Then, we focus on almost sure exponential stability and stochastic stabilization. A criterion on almost sure exponential stability based on spectrum technique is obtained. Sufficient conditions for mean square exponentially stability and asymptotic mean square stability are given via linear matrix inequality approach and some numerical examples to illustrate the effectiveness of our results are presented.

        Critical Stability and Stabilization of Discrete-Time Stochastic Systems and Its Applications

        In this paper, critical stability and critical stabilization for discrete stochastic systems with both state and control dependent noise are discussed via the spectrum technique. The Popov-Belevitch-Hautus (PBH) criterion for exact observability in a discrete version is presented. As applications, some interesting results on a class of generalized Lyapunov equations (GLE), unremovable spectra and dis-crete generalized algebraic Riccati equation (GARE) are obtained. Finally, the problem of assigning the spectra of discrete stochastic systems in a specified disk is considered and some numerical examples are given to demonstrate our results.

        In Search of Policies for Aged Chinese Women

        With the aim to exploring the policiesfor aged women in China, we entered this field, and found it a rich one, including free public transport, welfare facilities, pensions, care service for the aged, and special medical care, etc. In this paper, the key area we selected is to analyze the pension system with a gender perspective. The reasons for choosing this area are that it is the basic guarantee for the elders to live a decent life after they lose their working ability, is the fundamental factor for people to survive, and the key issue for the change from family-based old-age care toward a society-based one. There are no special policies for aged women; while the pension system for women has been embedded into the overall pension system, which was established in 1950s. The system was originated in urban regions and has been in operation for half a century. It was designed and funded according to the worker’s wages. Meanwhile, the standard was differentiated according to the labors’ social status. There are three layers designed for the pension system, namely public servant on the top, enterprise workers in the middle, and farmers at the bottom. Pension for women has been included in these three layers and they share relevant treatment. Besides, within each layer, there are certain rules in light of gender. The main contents of the paper are the features and rules of China’s pension system, the gender oriented rules within the system, the forming of gender differences within one certain layer, and the influences these rules lay on the elders with the specialty of women. This article looks at the Chinese pension system in a gender-based perspective, analyzes the overlapping and interaction of the system between urban and rural areas, among different classes of society, and between different genders, and thus looks into how the existing pension system has resulted in gender-based gap, and how it has widened, either consciously or unconsciously, the pension entitlement gap between men and women.

        Feedback Control on Nash Equilibrium for Discrete-Time Stochastic Systems with Markovian Jumps: Finite-Horizon Case

        In this paper, we consider the feedback control on nonzero-sum linear quadratic (LQ) differential games in finite horizon for discrete-time stochastic systems with Markovian jump parameters and multiplicative noise. Four-coupled generalized difference Riccati equations (GDREs) are obtained, which are essential to find the optimal Nash equilibrium strategies and the optimal cost values of the LQ differential games. Furthermore, an iterative algorithm is given to solve the four-coupled GDREs. Finally, a suboptimal solution of the LQ differential games is proposed based on a convex optimization approach and a simplification of the suboptimal solution is given. Simulation examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the iterative algorithm and the suboptimal solution.
