During the Japanese Occupation of China (1931-45), countless Chinese cultural relics were simply destroyed or looted in accordance with Japan's notorious 'Three Alls Campaign,' also known as 'Burn all, loot all, and kill all'. Due to the 1972 Japan-Chian Joint Communiqu?, however, the Chinese Government renounced its demand for war reparation from Japan. The question then becomes whether, when the Chinese Government renounced its claims for war reparations in a peace treaty. Chinese individuals still have a means to vindicate their rights to request restitution of Chinese cultural relics from Japan. The primary purpose of this research is to tackle two questions: First, was the taking of Chinese cultural relics during the Japanese Occupation prohibited by law? Second, can the Chinese individuals legally require the restitution of looted cultural relics? This paper handles a case of a 1300-year's old Tang dynasty stele in Japan which has been asked to hand over to China since 2014

Background miRNAs play an important role in regulating normal animal development. Muscle tissue and fat metabolismare important for maintaining energy balance in animals. Yak has important agricultural and economic importance as itprovides milk, meat, and hair. It is used for transportation as well. However, the miRNA expression profiles of their muscleand adipose tissue are currently unknown. Objective To explore the regulatory roles of miRNAs in the skeletal muscle and adipose tissues of yak. Methods A total of 12 small RNA libraries were constructed from the skeletal muscle and adipose samples from yak aged 0.5,2.5, 4.5, and 7.5 years. High-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics analysis were used to determine the dynamic expressionprofile of miRNA, and a miRNA regulatory network related to muscle and adipose tissue development was established. Results miR-1-3p and miR-143-3p showed the highest expression during yak skeletal muscle and fat development, respectively. The MAPK and Ras signaling pathways were the pivotal pathways. miR-181-5p, miR-542-3p, and miR-424-5p mayhave key roles in skeletal muscle development, and CREBRF, GRB10, CDK1, RFX3, and EPC2 were the core target genes. While miR-127-5p, miR-379-3p, and miR-494-3p may play important regulatory roles in adipose deposition, and ETV1,XPO7, and C5AR2 were the core target genes. Conclusion This study provides valuable resources for further study of the molecular mechanisms underlying yak skeletalmuscle and adipose tissue development, and also a basis for studying the interactions between genes and miRNAs.

This paper describes the white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) made from a benzothiazole derivative, N-(4-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)phenyl)-N-phenylnaphthalen-1-amine (BPNA). The bright yellowish-white emission was obtained from a non-doped triple-layer device: ITO/NPB (40 nm)/BPNA (50 nm)/Alq3 (40 nm)/LiF/Al. The Commission Internationale de L’Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of the device were (0.24, 0.36) at 10 V. The maximum brightness of the device was 9225 cd/㎡ at 14.4 V. A current efficiency of 3.08 cd/A, a power efficiency of 1.21 lm/W and an external quantum efficiency of 1.18% at a driving current density of 20 mA/㎠ were achieved. WOLED with a DCJTB-doped structure of ITO/TcTa/BPNA/BPNA: DCJTB (0.5%)/BPNA/BCP/Alq3/LiF/Al was fabricated in comparison with the non-doped device. The device emitted bright white light with the CIE coordinates of (0.33, 0.29) at 10 V and a maximum luminance of 7723 cd/㎡ at 14.8 V.

Pollen exine, mainly composed of sporopollenin, plays important roles during microspore development. It hasbeen reported that Acyl-CoA Synthetase5 (ACOS5) is requiredfor sporopollenin biosynthesis in Arabidopsis. Here we showthat ACOS5 is essential for primexine formation duringArabidopsis microspore development. Through genetic screen,we identified a point mutation of ACOS5 allele, acos5-2,showing abnormal microspore development. Its microsporeswere degenerated and aborted after released from the tetrads. Transmission electron microscopy showed that primexineformation was reduced in acos5-2 mutant as compared tothat of the wild-type. Consequently, sporopollenin wasaggregated and randomly deposited on the microspores. Insitu hybridization indicated that the key regulators of tapetumdevelopment, DYT1 and TDF1, are required for the expressionof ACOS5 in tapetum. Furthermore, the GUS reporter showedthat the 593-bp promoter sequence was sufficient for theexpression of ACOS5 in the anther. Our data provide evidencethat ACOS5 is required for primexine formation andsporopollenin deposition during microspore development.

The South China Sea (SCS) has a wealth of underwater cultural heritage (UCH). However, due to contested maritime delimitation, coastal states cannot refer to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea or the Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage to prevent unauthorized interference with UCH and implement the principle of in situ protection. UCH located in the SCS is thus vulnerable to being destroyed or salvaged. This article focuses on the issue of UCH protection and management in the disputed SCS, which has far-reaching implications for other disputed maritime areas where littoral states are in dispute concerning how their overlapping maritime entitlements are to be determined.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical and radiological efficacy of a combine of lateral single screw-rod and unilateral percutaneous pedicle screw fixation (LSUP) for lateral lumbar interbody fusion (LLIF) in the treatment of spondylolisthesis. Methods: Sixty-two consecutive patients with lumbar spondylolisthesis who underwent minimally invasive (MIS)-TLIF with bilateral pedicle screw (BPS) or LLIF-LSUP were retrospectively studied. Segmental lordosis angle (SLA), lumbar lordosis angle (LLA), disc height (DH), slipping percentage, the cross-sectional areas (CSA) of the thecal sac, screw placement accuracy, fusion rate and foraminal height (FH) were used to evaluate radiographic changes postoperatively. Visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy. Results: Patients who underwent LLIF-LSUP showed shorter operating time, less length of hospital stay and lower blood loss than MIS-TLIF. No statistical difference was found between the 2 groups in screw placement accuracy, overall complications, VAS, and ODI. Compared with MIS-TLIF-BPS, LLIF-LSUP had a significant improvement in sagittal parameters including DH, FH, LLA, and SLA. The CSA of MIS-TLIF-BPS was significantly increased than that of LLIF-LSUP. The fusion rate of LLIF-LSUP was significantly higher than that of MIS-TLIF-BPS at the follow-up of 3 months postoperatively, but there was no statistical difference between the 2 groups at the follow-up of 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months. Conclusion: The overall clinical outcomes and complications of LLIF-LSUP were comparable to that of MIS-TLIF-BPS in this series. Compared with MIS-TLIF-BPS, LLIF-LSUP for lumbar spondylolisthesis represents a significantly shorter operating time, hospital stay and lower blood loss, and demonstrates better radiological outcomes to maintain lumbar lordosis, and reveal an overwhelming superiority in the early fusion rate.

Zhong Hui,Wang Runze,Zhang Li,Sun Youliang 대한전기학회 2024 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.19 No.3
The occurrence of fault would greatly afect the remaining life of ofshore wind power transformer. In this paper, the fault events during the operation of the ofshore power transformer were analyzed based on the fault tree theory and the structure function of the transformer fault event was established with considering the operation environment to propose the risk model of transformer fault events. The Monte Carlo method was used to sample the risk model, and the fault risk coefcient of the operation for the ofshore transformer was obtained. Taking the infuence of fault events into the remaining life of the transformer, a Life estimation correction model for ofshore wind power transformer was established, which provides guidance for the optimal design and early fault warning of ofshore transformers.
