PROJECTIONS OF BOUQUET GRAPH WITH TWO CYCLES
Huh, Young-Sik Korean Mathematical Society 2008 대한수학회지 Vol.45 No.5
In this paper we investigate the projections of bouquet graph B with two cycles. A projection of B is said to be trivial if only trivial embeddings are obtained from the projection. It is shown that, to cover all nontrivial projections of B, at least three embeddings of B are needed. We also show that a nontrivial projection of B is covered by one of some two embeddings if the image of each cycle has at most one self-crossing.
HEPTAGONAL KNOTS AND RADON PARTITIONS
Huh, Young-Sik Korean Mathematical Society 2011 대한수학회지 Vol.48 No.2
We establish a necessary and sufficient condition for a heptagonal knot to be figure-8 knot. The condition is described by a set of Radon partitions formed by vertices of the heptagon. In addition we relate this result to the number of nontrivial heptagonal knots in linear embeddings of the complete graph $K_7$ into $\mathbb{R}^3$.

In this paper we establish strict lower bounds on number of sticks necessary to construct stick presentations of nontrivial or almost trivial ${\mu}$-curves.
KNOTS AND LINKS IN LINEAR EMBEDDINGS OF K6
Huh, Young-Sik,Jeon, Choon-Bae Korean Mathematical Society 2007 대한수학회지 Vol.44 No.3
We investigate the number of knots and links in linear embeddings of $K_6$, the complete graph with 6 vertices. Concretely, we show that any linear embedding of $K_6$ contains either only one Hopf link, or three Hopf links and one trefoil knot.

The purpose of this paper is to share the findings of a study that focused on the interculturalism as an approach towards integration of multicultural society and its implications. To achieve the aim, this article identifies following themes: the concept of interculturalism and its characteristics, the limitations of multiculturalism and transition towards interculturalism, and some policy-oriented and institutional practical cases of interculturalism for social integration. The bottom line of this study can be formulated as follows: Against the theoretical and practical background of interculturalism, it is necessary to address the problems and challenges of multicultural reality or multiculturality more appropriately in terms of intercultural encounter, communication, and dialogue. In order to enhance the possibility or probability of intercultural understanding, we need especially the attitudes of perspective-taking and -changing on the part of an agent himself/herself vis-à-vis other person(s) or alien/foreign group(s). In this context, it is needed to pay more attention to some intercultural works such as intercultural city and intercultural dialogue, and derive relevant consequences for introducing and consolidating interculturalist approaches in our society.

Purpose: To examine the possibility of reducing the number of cores per prostate biopsy in elderly patients with high levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) without significantly lowering the detection rate of prostate cancer.Materials and Methods: Two hundreds sixteen men with PSA levels >20 ng/mL who underwent prostate biopsies from May 2009 to April 2013 were retrospectively reviewed. With the help of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the laterality of the domi-nant tumor burden in patients was determined. The results of targeted biopsies were compared with those of conventional biopsy procedures. Results: The mean age and PSA level were 79.5 years and 81.3 ng/mL, respectively, and the overall diagnostic rate of sextant biop-sies was 81.9% (177/216). MRI was able to show the tumor burden in 189 of the 216 patients. The detection rate of transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS)-guided targeted biopsies was 87.3% (165/189). Detection rates were comparable with conventional bi-opsies (81.9% [177/216]) (p=0.23). Of the 177 men in whom the results of the sextant biopsy were positive, 12 men (6.8%) with PSA levels <29 ng/mL did not have any cancer cells according to targeted biopsies. However, all other patients were diagnosed with prostate cancer using the abovementioned techniques. Conclusions: We believe that TRUS-guided targeted biopsies of the prostate in elderly men with high PSA levels could reduce the number of unnecessary cores per biopsy. However, a risk of detection loss remains. Therefore, we recommend that at least a sextant biopsy should be performed, even in elderly patients, in order to detect prostate cancer.
