Factors influencing consumers’ purchase intention of green sportswear

The purpose of this study was to examine consumers’ purchase intention for green sportswear by investigating the effects of their expectation, perception, subjective norm, perceived behavior control, and attitude on purchasing green sportswear. The study further investigated differential influences towards purchase intention for green sportswear between non-green and green product users. A within-subjects research design was used to empirically test our conceptual model, which was expanded from the theory of planned behavior by adding two additional predictors (expectation and perception). An online survey was conducted with a nationwide convenience sample of U.S. consumers whose ages ranged from 18 to 74 years, and a total of 542 usable responses were obtained. The results of the overall model testing confirmed the significant effects of expectation, perception, subjective norm, and attitude on consumers’ purchase intention for green sportswear. The findings from the comparative model testing indicated significant differences between non-green and green product users in terms of the effects of expectation and perceived behavior control on participants’ green sportswear purchase intention. The outcomes of this study offer useful insights for developing effective strategies for consumers to generate more positive perception, expectation, and attitude towards purchasing green sportswear. This study also suggests potential ways for apparel retailers to develop effective marketing strategies for this sportswear segment to satisfy the values of potential customers.

城市飲水問題涉及到城市飲水行業管理以及水質監控這兩個方面,它是關係到城市長遠發展與市民生活的一個重要方面。二十世紀初期,中國開埠城市上海、廣州、漢口、青島等地已經陸續建立和發展起來現代自來水供水系統,因而學界對這些城市飲水問題研究多集中在自來水系統的產生和發展,自來水系統與城市公共衛生管理、城市生活變遷等方面。而與這些研究不同的是,本文研究的背景是處於經濟社會蕭條下的30 年代北平城,市民飲水大部份依靠水井提供,飲用井水在市民生活中佔據了相當大的比重,而自來水供應只占很小部份,因此在文章中,對北平市飲水井的整頓分析佔據了文章一個很重要位置。同時,作為 現代城市供水模式的自來水系統在這個時期也問題叢生,文章同時也重點分析北平市政府整頓自來水系統的整頓措施。 這兩類飲水問題的整頓都是在1930 年代北平市政府開展的“市政建設”這面大旗下展開的。因此文章通過對北平市飲水歷史和自來水誕生產生的介紹以及存在問題的分析,討論北平市政府所實施的一系列整頓方法和措施,以此研究北平市政府城市管理方式、北平城市近代化所遇到的障礙以及市民公共衛生意識的轉變。 Urban drinking water problems conclude the management of this field and the monitor of water quality, which concern the further development of an urban city and the improvement of the residents' life. In the early 1920s, the treaty-port cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou ,Hankou,Qingdao had already established and developed a modern water supply system and the more scholars today put their focus on these cities to study their histories of water supply system, the urban public hygiene management and the impact of these changes to residents. Differently,the background of this essay is setted in the city of Peking of 1930s,which was experiencing a great depression both in politic and economy.At this time,the living of Peking's residents relied on well water, which took a large part in people's daily life. So analying the operations of well is an important part in the essay. Meanwhile, as a symbol of an urban city, tap-water system existed a lot of roblems,so the essay also analysises the consolidations of tap water system. These operations towards the well and tap water were both launched under the flag of municipal construction implemented by Peking municipal government. By introducing the history of drinking well and tap water of Peking and anaylzing the existed problems, the essay dicusses a series of reforms implemented by Peking municipal government and studies the methods of urban city's management and the impediments in modernization the city met.
