      • The Effects of Substituent Groups of Hydrazones : HMO energy, Polarographic potential and UV(λmax) HMO에너지, 폴라로그래프의 피이크 포텐셜, UV(λmax)

        Semicarbazone의 置換基效果를 폴라로그래프의 피이크퍼텐셜과 UV의 λmax 으로 비교 설명되었으며, 또한 LUMO와 HOMO의 에너지와 관련지웠다. 이때 메틸기의 수가 증가할 수록 Semicarbazone의 환원성이 커졌으며, λmax은 장파장쪽으로 이동되었으나, Δm은 이외로 증가되었다. The effects of substituent groups of semicarbazones were compared with polarpgraphic peak potentials, λmx,s of UV, which were related to LUMO energy and HOMO energy difference, Δm. The substituent effects of semicarbazones show that the more increased the number of methyl group, the more easily reduced alkyl semicarbazones generally. λmax,s of alkyl semicarbazones also shifted to long wave, but Δm was increased exclusively.

        실존주의 철학의 문명사적 독법 - 칼 야스퍼스의 존재의식과 실존적 역사성 -

        우리는 21세기 4차 산업혁명기에 직면해서 문명사적 변곡점, 위기, 불안, 또한 그와 연동하는 동아시아의 분열상을 극명하게 목도하고 있다. 무엇보다 현 동아시아권은 서구식 근대국가 세계시스템이 지배하는 사회이며 그에 동조하는 사유 없는 인간의 파시즘적 ‘악의 평범성(the Banality of Evil)’이 재현되고 있다는 데 경각심을 갖지 않을 수 없다. 본 연구에서는 1ㆍ2차 산업혁명이라는 세계문명사의 대변혁기에 발흥한 실존주의를 빅 히스토리의 문명사적 차원에서 해독, 그 해법의 실마리를 찾아보고자 했다. 그 구체적인 논지 전개는 먼저 실존주의 철학(실존철학)의 문명사적 독해를 수행하고 그러한 지평 위에서 칼 야스퍼스(Karl Theodor Jaspers, 1883~1969)의 실존ㆍ초월 지향적 역사철학이 계도하는 세계상과 그 현재적 의미 맥락들을 점검해보았다. 오늘날 문명사의 변곡점, 세계체제의 대변환기로 볼 때 20세기 전반 기계문명이나 근대국가 이데올로기에 치열하게 저항하고 대안을 궁구한 실존철학은 현대문명의 미래비전을 간직한 인문학적 보고이다. 특히 야스퍼스의 존재의식의 변혁, 곧 ‘실존적 역사성’은 인간부재의 어두운 디스토피아로 그려지는 4차 산업혁명과 이 시대의 난제들을 자극하는 유의미한 해법의 단서를 제공한다. 그가 개진하는 충실, 자유, 무제약성, 본래적 자기, 초월, 상호소통, 실존적 결단, 연대, 공동책임 등 인간상들은 21세기 메가트랜드 지구지역적(glocal) 평화협력과 그에 접속하는 동아시아 신문명시스템(new civilization system)을 구성하는 인간학적 모티프(motif)임은 물론이다. Confronting the age of the fourth industrial revolution in the 21st century, we are clearly witnessing the inflection point in the history of civilization, crisis, anxiety, and the dissolution of East Asia. Above all, East Asia currently has a society governed by the modern Western world system, and we must arouse attention to the fact that the fascistic, groundless ‘Banality of Evil’ is being reproduced to accord with these phenomena. This study aimed to interpret existentialism as an ideology that rose suddenly during those transition periods in the history of civilization called the first and second industrial revolutions and to find clues for such interpretation. In the development of the specific point, existential philosophy was read through the history of civilization. Based on this reading, the world view and present semantic contexts guided by the existence- and transcendence-oriented historical philosophy of Karl Theodor Jaspers(1883~1969) were examined. Looking at the inflection point in the history of civilization and the transition period of the world system, existential philosophy is a repository of humanities that cherishes the future vision of contemporary civilization by fiercely resisting and studying alternatives to the machine civilization from the 20th century and ideologies of modern countries. In particular, the revolution in the consciousness of existence by Jaspers or ‘existential historicality’ presents a meaningful clue to solve the conundrums of the fourth industrial revolution and present age illustrated as a gloomy dystopia with the absence of human beings. Human characteristics expressed by Jaspers; such as faithfulness, freedom, unconstrained nature, inherent self, transcendence, mutual communication, existential resolution, solidarity, and collective responsibility, are the humanistic motifs that constitute global cooperation for peace, the mega-trend of the 21st century, and the new civilization system of East Asia connected to the mega-trend.

      • 다물리 시뮬레이션을 통한 차량용 압전 유압 완충기에 대한 연구

        A Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting Shock Absorber (PEHSA) System of a Vehicle is developed and analyzed. While driving a vehicle, only about 20% of fuel energy is consumed for driving to overcome air drag force and friction between the tires and the road. In particular, vibration energy caused by a bumpy road, vehicle speed, acceleration, deceleration, braking, steering, etc, is dissipated by shock absorber in the vehicle suspension. The objective of this paper is to develop a new suspension system of the vehicle including a shock absorber combined with piezoelectric materials as an energy harvester which transforms vibration energy to electrical energy. The multi-physics simulation was performed using Comsol Multiphysics for expecting the characteristics of the PEHSA system.

        A New Interference-Aware Dynamic Safety Interval Protocol for Vehicular Networks

        In IEEE 802.11p/1609-based vehicular networks, vehicles are allowed to exchange safety and control messages only within time periods, called control channel (CCH) interval, which are scheduled periodically. Currently, the length of the CCH interval is set to the fixed value (i.e. 50ms). However, the fixed-length intervals cannot be effective for dynamically changing traffic load. Hence, some protocols have been recently proposed to support variable-length CCH intervals in order to improve channel utilization. In existing protocols, the CCH interval is subdivided into safety and non-safety intervals, and the length of each interval is dynamically adjusted to accommodate the estimated traffic load. However, they do not consider the presence of hidden nodes. Consequently, messages transmitted in each interval are likely to overlap with simultaneous transmissions (i.e. interference) from hidden nodes. Particularly, life-critical safety messages which are exchanged within the safety interval can be unreliably delivered due to such interference, which deteriorates QoS of safety applications such as cooperative collision warning. In this paper, we therefore propose a new interference-aware Dynamic Safety Interval (DSI) protocol. DSI calculates the number of vehicles sharing the channel with the consideration of hidden nodes. The safety interval is derived based on the measured number of vehicles. From simulation study using the ns-2, we verified that DSI outperforms the existing protocols in terms of various metrics such as broadcast delivery ration, collision probability and safety message delay.

        Development of a Robotic Patient Positioning System with a Wide Beam-Angle Range for Fixed-Beam Particle Therapy

        This paper describes a robotic patient positioning system (PPS) for a fixed-beam heavy-ion therapy system. In order to extend the limited irradiation angle range of the fixed beam, we developed a 6-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) serial-link robotic arm and used it as the robotic PPS for the fixed-beam heavy-ion therapy system. This research aims to develop a robotic PPS for use in the Korea Heavy Ion Medical Accelerator (KHIMA) system, which is under development at the Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences (KIRAMS). In particular, we select constraints and criteria that will be used for designing and evaluating the robotic PPS through full consultation with KIRAMS. In accordance with the constraints and criteria, we develop a 6-DOF serial-link robotic arm that consists of six revolute joints for the robotic PPS, where the robotic arm covers the upper body of a patient as a treatment area and achieves a 15 roll and pitch angle in the treatment area without any collision. Various preliminary experiments confirm that the robotic PPS can meet all criteria for extension of the limited irradiation angle range in the treatment area and has a positioning repeatability of 0.275 mm.

        Case Report : Alternative surgical approaches for aggressive angiomyxoma at different sites in the pelvic cavity

        Aggressive angiomyxoma, a rare soft tissue benign neoplasm, predominantly occurs in the female pelvic peritoneum and perineum region during reproductive age. It is slow growing, locally infiltrative, and has a high risk of local recurrence and the neoplastic character of blood vessels. The standard treatment is surgery. We report three unusual aggressive angiomyxoma cases. The first case was a pedunculated mass of the left labium major; the second, a left perineal mass that infiltrated into the paravesical area via the obturator foramen; and the third, a big mass in the retroperitoneal cavity, found that growing aggressive angiomyxoma looked like lava expulsion in the pelvic area. After a thorough examination and full radiologic workup, we performed surgical excision in each patient via different approaches. Histopathologic findings were consistent with diagnosis of aggressive angiomyxoma. To date, no relapse has been observed.

        Emission characteristic of ammonia in cement mortars using different sand from area of production

        This paper discusses the influence of organic matter contained in aggregate on the emission characteristic of ammonia (NH₃) from cement mortar. NH₃ can be released to indoor-outdoor environment through diffusion in mortar (or concrete) and have resulted in the increasing air pollution, and especially well known as a harmful gas for the human body. The concentration of NH₃ released from cement concrete was then compared to the contents of organic matter contained in the aggregate. The result indicates that the contents of organic matter in the aggregate significantly differ with types of aggregate from different areas of production. The organic matter becomes organic nitrogen through the process of microbial breakdown for a certain period and pure ammonium ion (NH₄+) is produced from the organic nitrogen. The NH₄ + was reacted with alkaline elements in the cement and released as NH₃ from cement concrete through a volatile process. The released NH₃ was proportional to the contents of NH₄+ adsorbed in the aggregate from different areas of production and the concentrations of NH₃ emission from cement mortar according to the aggregate differ by more than 4 times.
