Information Quantification Application to Management with Fuzzy Entropy and Similarity Measure
Hongmei Wang,Sanghyuk Lee 한국지능시스템학회 2010 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL of FUZZY LOGIC and INTELLIGE Vol.10 No.4
Verification of efficiency in data management fuzzy entropy and similarity measure were discussed and verified by applying reliable data selection problem and numerical data similarity evaluation. In order to calculate the certainty or uncertainty fuzzy entropy and similarity measure are designed and proved. Designed fuzzy entropy and similarity are considered as dissimilarity measure and similarity measure, and the relation between two measures are explained through graphical illustration. Obtained measures are useful to the application of decision theory and mutual information analysis problem. Extension of data quantification results based on the proposed measures are applicable to the decision making and fuzzy game theory.
Evaluation of certainty and uncertainty for Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets
Hongmei Wang,Sanghyuk Lee 한국지능시스템학회 2010 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL of FUZZY LOGIC and INTELLIGE Vol.10 No.4
Study about fuzzy entropy and similarity measure on intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) were proposed, and analyzed. Unlike fuzzy set, IFSs contains uncertainty named hesistancy, which is contained in fuzzy membership function itself. Hence, designing fuzzy entropy is not easy because of ununified entropy definition. By considering different fuzzy entropy definitions, fuzzy entropy is designed and discussed their relation. Similarity measure was also presented and verified its usefulness to evaluate degree of similarity.
Mutual Information Analysis with Similarity Measure
Hongmei Wang,Sanghyuk Lee 한국지능시스템학회 2010 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL of FUZZY LOGIC and INTELLIGE Vol.10 No.3
Discussion and analysis about relative mutual information has been carried out through fuzzy entropy and similarity measure. Fuzzy relative mutual information measure (FRIM) plays an important part as a measure of information shared between two fuzzy pattern vectors. This FRIM is analyzed and explained through similarity measure between two fuzzy sets. Furthermore, comparison between two measures is also carried out.
Calculation of Data Reliability with Entropy for Fuzzy Sets
Hongmei Wang,Sanghyuk Lee 한국지능시스템학회 2009 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL of FUZZY LOGIC and INTELLIGE Vol.9 No.4
Measuring uncertainty for fuzzy sets has been carried out by calculating fuzzy entropy. Fuzzy entropy of fuzzy set is derived with the help of distance measure. The distance proportional value between the fuzzy set and the corresponding crisp set is designed as the fuzzy entropy. The usefulness is verified by proving the proposed entropy. Generally, fuzzy entropy contains the complementary characteristics that the fuzzy entropies of fuzzy set and complementary fuzzy set have the same entropies. Discrepancy that low fuzzy entropy did not guarantee the data certainty was overcome by modifying fuzzy entropy formulation. Obtained fuzzy entropy is analyzed and discussed through simple example.

Pneumococcal asymptomatic colonization of the respiratory tracts is a major risk for invasive pneumococcal disease. We have previously shown that pneumococcal wall teichoic acid (WTA) was involved in pneumococcal infection of sepsis and adherence to epithelial and endothelial cells. In this study, we investigated the contribution of pneumococcal WTA to bacterial colonization and dissemination in murine models. The result showed that nasopharynx colonizing D39 bacterial cells have a distinct phenotype showing an increased exposure of teichoic acids relative to medium-grown bacteria. The WTA-deficient mutants were impaired in their colonization to the nasopharynx and lungs, and led to a mild inflammation in the lungs at 36 h post-inoculation. Pretreatment of the murine nares with WTA reduced the ability of wild type D39 bacteria to colonize the nasopharynx. In addition, the WTA-deficient strain was impaired in its ability to invade the blood and brain following intranasal administration. WTA-deficient D39 strain was reduced in C3 deposition but was more susceptible to the killing by the neutrophils as compared with its parent strain. Our results also demonstrated that the WTA enhanced pneumococcal colonization and dissemination independently of the host strains. These results indicate that WTA plays an important role in pneumococcal pathogenesis, both in colonization and dissemination processes.

39 accessions of sickle alfalfa (Medicago falcata L.) collected from different regions of China were evaluated for their tolerance to drought. Differences were observed among accessions in their reactions to drought and 8 good tolerant accessions at populations level and 18 excellent tolerant accessions at individual level were identified based on drought response index (DRI).
Digital Post-processing Techniques for Time-interleaved ADCs
Hongmei Chen,Lanyu Wang,Jian Wang,Jiashen Li,Honghui Deng,Xu Meng,Yongsheng Yin 대한전자공학회 2022 IEIE Transactions on Smart Processing & Computing Vol.11 No.6
This paper presents an all-digital post-processing circuit for a high-speed and highprecision time-interleaved ADC (TIADC). By pre-inputting a test signal in the TIADC, channel mismatch errors are estimated and stored, and the stored values are extracted to compensate for errors when the input signal is at a special frequency. The frequency can be detected by a threshold judgement module. This solves the problem of the traditional modulation calibration algorithm, which cannot calibrate the signal at a special frequency. A high-speed low-complexity digital down converter (DDC) circuit with an optional decimation ratio of 1, 2, 4, or 8 times was designed to have different frequency outputs of the TIADC. We applied it to a four-channel 14-bit 360-MHz TIADC system with an input signal fin of 110 MHz. The FPGA verification results show that after calibration and decimation, the spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) and signal-to-noise distortion ratio (SNDR) improve by about 40 dB and 30 dB, respectively.

Molecular mapping of new blast resistance genes is important for developing resistant rice cultivars using marker-assisted selection. In this study, 259 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) were developed from a cross between Nipponbare and 93-11, and were used to construct a 1165.8-cM linkage map with 131 polymorphic simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. Four major quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for resistance to six isolates of Magnaporthe oryzae were identified: qPi93-1, qPi93-2, qPi93-3, and qPiN-1. For the three genes identified in 93-11, qPi93-1 is linked with SSR marker RM116 on the short arm of chromosome 11 and explains 33% of the phenotypic variation in resistance to isolate CHE86. qPi93-2 is linked with SSR marker RM224 on the long arm of chromosome 11 and accounts for 31% and 25% of the phenotypic variation in resistance to isolates 162-8B and ARB50, respectively. qPi93-3 is linked with SSR marker RM7102 on chromosome 12 and explains 16%, 53%, and 28% of the phenotypic variation in resistance to isolates CHE86, ARB52, and ARB94, respectively. QTL qPiN-1 from Nipponbare is associated with SSR marker RM302 on chromosome 1 and accounts for 34% of the phenotypic variation in resistance to isolate PO6-6. These new genes can be used to develop new varieties with blast resistance via marker-aided selection and to explore the molecular mechanism of rice blast resistance.

Most hinnies (female donkey${\times}$male horse) and mules (female horse${\times}$male donkey) are sterile with few reports of equine fertile hybrids. The main cause of this sterility is thought to be a meiotic block to spermatogenesis and oogenesis. This study compared the developmental features of the testes and a histological analyses of spermatogenesis in a male hinny with those of a normal, fertile stallion and Jack donkey. Hinny testes showed a thicker tunica albuginea, fewer blood vessels and more connective tissue in the testis parenchyma than those of the stallion and Jack donkey. Although the mean number of seminiferous tubules was significantly higher in stallion and hinny than Jack donkey (p<0.01), the mean proportion of seminiferous tubules was lower in the hinny (p<0.01) which resulted in a smaller diameter of seminiferous tubules. The mean number of spermatogonia and spermatocytes per unit area were significantly lower in hinny testis (p<0.01) and no spermatids or mature spermatozoa cells were found during immunofluorescent analyses. These results indicated that defects in seminiferous tubule development and structure occur in the testis of hinnies. Furthermore, most spermatogonia and spermatocytes cease development in synapsis during mid-meiosis of spermatocytes, which results in a block to spermatogenesis that prevents the formation of spermatids and matured spermatozoa during meiosis in male hinnies.
