Reliability Assessment on Different Designs of a SMES System Based on the Reliability Index Approach

The current paper presents an effective methodology for assessing the reliability of electromagnetic designs when considering uncertainties of design variables. To achieve this goal, the reliability index approach based on the first-order reliability method is adopted to deal with probabilistic constraint functions, which are expressed in terms of random design variables. The proposed method is applied to three different designs of a superconducting magnetic energy storage system that corresponds to initial, deterministic, and roust designs. <P>Novel acyclic nucleoside analogues were designed and synthesized as open-chain analogues of neplanocin A. The coupling of the allylic bromide with purine bases using cesium carbonate afforded a series of novel acyclic nucleosides. The synthesized compounds Ia – II were evaluated for their antiviral activity against various viruses such as HIV, HSV-1, HSV-2, and ECMV.</P>
Neural network based robust binary sequence denoising using iterative channel estimation

In may fields, we often use binary signals for communications. However, since devices that generate signals do not provide a perfectly clean signal, they sometimes provide binary signals mixed with noise, so we must remove noise to get clean signals. In this paper, we introduce a robust algorithm that can reconstruct clean signal from its noisy observation that is corrupted by discrete memoryless channel. The existing methods remove noise while knowing the probability of memoryless channel or assuming some prior model on the clean signal. In constrast, our algorithm can first predict the probability of the channel before removing the noise and is shown to achieve almost the equivalent denoising performance as the known noise counterpart, whithout making any assumptions on the clean signal.
Safety LFA Program and Communication Support System

The aim of this study is to identify the safety culture strengthening factors for safety LFA(Leadership, Followership and Assertiveness) program in nuclear power plants by a comprehensive literature review. Safety culture can be expanded through systematic approach over safety management, education and training practice, self-assessment, incentives, site environment improvement and managers`commitment. Designing of safety LFA program for NPP(Nuclear Power Plant) workers should be focused on safety culture. This study was conducted to provide the safety culture strengthening factors on LFA training program by classifying the differences of understanding about the importance of safety culture refers to international guideline. To heighten safety culture by training leadership, safety culture strengthening factors should be consist of followership and assertiveness (managers` attitudes and workers`attitudes) as well as leadership. A more systematic requirement of LFA training program is needed which considers safety culture can be applied to NPP workers. The results of the publishing can be useful for standardization of leadership training program for the NPP worker.

이 논문의 목적은 이중 목적어 구문에서 격 자질이 어떻게 점검되는 지를 알아보는 것이다. Chomsky(1993, 1995)는 의미역 이론과 점검 이론은 상보성을 지닌다고 한다. 즉 의미역 위치에서는 자질 점검이 일어날 수 없다고 한다. 그러나 이 논문에서는 의미역 위치에서 자질 점검이 일어난다는 것을 이중 목적어 구문의 자질 점검을 통하여 밝히고자 한다. 이렇게 하기 위해 우선 선행 연구들을 살펴보고 그것의 문제점을 지적하겠다. 그리고 이것을 해결하기 위해 '수정 점검 과정'을 제안한다. 이 수정 점검 과정의 핵심은 의미역 위치에서 자질 점검이 일어날 수 있다 는 것이다. 이 점검과정을 이용하여 나는 선행 연구들의 문제점을 해결하고 그 결과로서 의미역 위치에서 자질 점검이 일어날 수 있다는 것을 밝히고자 한다.
7 T MRI에서의 다양한 RF 코일에 대한 B₁⁺ 비교

정 자장(B?)의 세기가 7T(Tesla) 고자기장 MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging) 시스템은 정 자장의 세기가 1.5 T 또는 3 T MRI 시스템에 비하여 인가된 RF(Radio Frequency) 필드의 높은 불균질성을 보여준다. 이러한 문제점를 극복하기 위한 방법으로써, 관심 영역에서의 RF 자장이 균일하도록 RF 코일의 각 요소로 들어가는 최적화된 전류의 크기와 위상 값을 얻기 위해서 convex 최적화 방법이 사용된다. 이러한 방법을 7 T MRI 시스템에 다양한 RF 코일에 적용하여 각각의 B₁? 필드 값을 비교하여 그 성능을 파악하였다. This paper demonstrates the use of the convex optimization to localize the transverse magnetic B₁?field in regions of interest for recently proposed multi-sectioned alternating impedance coils and the traditional transmission line coil. An approach based on different axial slices to identical RF coils except upper stripline structure is investigated. Electromagnetic simulation results are compared for RF coils and discussed in detail at 7.0 T.
