Extracellular vesicles (EVs) play an essential role in the communication between cells and the tumor microenvironment. However, the effect of tumor-derived EVs on the growth and metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains to be explored. This study aimed to elucidate the role of miR-153-3p-EVs in the invasion and migration capabilities of LUAD cells and explore its mechanism through in vivo and in vitro experiments. We found that miR-153-3p was specifically and highly expressed in LUAD and its secreted EVs. Furthermore, the expression of BANCR was negatively regulated by miR-153-3p and identified as a target gene of miR-153-3p using luciferase reporter assays. Through further investigation, we found that the downregulation of BANCR activates the PI3K/AKT pathway and accelerates the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), which ultimately leads to the aggravation of LUAD. The orthotopic xenograft mouse model was established to illustrate the effect of miR-153-3p-EVs on LUAD. Animal studies showed that miR-153-3p-EVs accelerated tumor growth in mice. Besides, we found that miR-153-3p-EVs could damage the respiratory ability of mice and produce a mass of inflammatory cells around the lung tissue of mice. Nevertheless, antagomir-153-3p treatment could inhibit the deterioration of respiratory function and inhibit the growth of lung tumors in mice. In conclusion, our study reveals the potential molecular mechanism of miR-153-3p-EVs in the development of LUAD and provides a potential strategy for the treatment of LUAD.

To levitate ICF target spheres in the near-field acoustic levitation, a transducer with concave spherical radiating surface and a near-field acoustic levitation system is established. The concave spherical radiating surface of the transducer is designed by the finite element parametric method. Then the levitation height and levitation perturbation of spheres with different mass and diameters in the near-field acoustic levitation system are tested and discussed in the driving voltage at 400V, 500V and 600V, respectively, when the levitation system is under the resonant frequency. Finally, based on the experimental results, the height formula of the near-field acoustic levitation for spheres is deduced by introducing a coupling coefficient.

There are no proven therapeutics for Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia outbreak. We observed and analyzed the clinical efficacy of the most used hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for 30 days. In this study, administration of HCQ <5 days from diagnosis (odds ratio: 0.111, 95% confidence interval: 0.034 - 0.367, P = 0.001) was the only protective factor for prolonging of viral shedding in COVID-19 patients. Early administration of HCQ significantly ameliorates inflammatory cytokine secretion by eradicating COVID-19, at discharge. Our findings suggest that patients confirmed of COVID-19 infection should be administrated HCQ as soon as possible.

Genomic aberrations of rectal carcinoma, especially DNA copy number changes associated with metastasis were largely unclear. We aim to identify the metastasis associated biomarkers in stage II rectal cancer. Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded primary tumor tissues of stage II rectal carcinoma were analyzed by array-based comparative genomic hybridization, and genomic aberrations were identified by Genomic Workbench and SAM software. Copy number changes and mRNA expressions were validated by Real-time PCR in an independent rectal cancer samples. The results showed that the most frequent gains in stage II rectal cancer were at 1q21.2-q23.1, 3p21.31, 11q12.2-q23.3, 12q24.11-q24.31, 12q13.11-q14.1 and losses in 18q11.2-q23, 17q21.33-q22, 13q31.1-q31.3, 21q21.1-q21.3, 8p23.3-p23.1 and 4q22.1-q23. Twenty-two amplifications and five homozygous deletions were also identified. We further found that S100A1 (1q21.3-q23.1), MCM7 (7q22.1) and JUND (19p13.11) were amplified and overexpressed in stage II rectal cancer. Interestingly, the genomic aberrations affected 14 signaling pathways including VEGF signaling pathway and fatty acid metabolism. Most importantly, loss of 13q31.1-q34 and gain of 1q44 were associated with distant metastasis. Our results indicated that these metastasis associated genomic changes may be useful to reveal the pathogenesis of rectal cancer metastasis and identify candidate biomarkers.

In this paper, we derive various differential Harnack estimates for positive solutions to the nonlinear backward heat type equations on closed manifolds coupled with the Ricci-Bourguignon flow, which was done for the Ricci flow by J.-Y. Wu \cite{[WJY12]}. The proof follows exactly the one given by X.-D. Cao \cite{[CXD08]} for the linear backward heat type equations coupled with the Ricci flow.

Jian-Hong Wang,Xin-Ling Guo,Xu-Feng Hou,Hui-Jun Zhao,Zhao-Yang Luo,Jin Zhao 대한화학회 2014 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.35 No.8
Cu (II) detection is of great importance owing to its significant function in various biological processes. In this report, we developed a novel coumarin-based chemosensor bearing the salicylaldimine unit (2) for Cu2+ selective detection. The results from fluorescence spectra demonstrated that the sensor could selectively recognize Cu2+ over other metal cations and the detection limit is as low as 0.2 μM. Moreover, the confocal fluorescence imaging in HepG2 cells illustrated its potential for biological applications.
Improved Optimization for Data Disaster Recovery System over Low-Bandwidth Networks
Jian Wan,Xiaolong Hong,Jinlin Zhang 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Database Theory and Appli Vol.7 No.5
Data generated by various fields are increasing exponentially and thus results in challenges for data performances in both scales of diversity and complexity. The problem how to solve the bottlenecks of low -bandwidth networks has been of fatal significance for all kinds of network status. We present a new approach on improved optimization for data disaster recovery system (DDRS) over low-bandwidth networks that not only aims to improve the defects and deficiencies of mainstream DDRS but also helps ensure the reliable network resources for operators to conduct multi-services. A novel bandwidth self-adaptive approach (BSAA) for data packing replication was essentially established to make contribution to the integral performance improvement. A Hidden Markov Model (HMM) for predicting network status was also built to ensure system availability and stability. Experiments showed that the DDRS over low-bandwidth networks named InfoDr can effectively optimize the workload with better performance and better application self-adaptability for multi-services. <P>Neutrons (2.45 MeV) from deuterium cluster fusion induced by the intense femtosecond (30 fs) laser pulse are experimentally demonstrated. The average neutron yield 103 per shot is obtained. It is found that the yield slightly increases with the increasing laser spot size. No neutron can be observed when the laser intensity I < 4.3×1015 W/cm2.</P>
